A Rock Concert
Have you ever experienced an overload of every sense at once? Well, rock concerts can almost take you there. I went to see AC/DC in the spring of
1991, and it was truly a festival of sensory overloads. My body felt as if they stimulated it in every area to its complete capacity.
The level of sound was so astronomical. The decibel level was on the threshold of pain. The music roared through the streets for miles, outside the coliseum. Every time the bass drum was struck, I could feel the repercussion in the organs within my chest. It even made my teeth chatter. The concrete floor beneath me seemed to move with the beat of each song.
The number of people was enormous. I had to actually become one with the people next to me. The crowd provided or allowed no personal space. We were all packed in there liked caged wildcats. I had to move as the crowd allowed or insisted. Everything was done as a group. There were no individuals here. It was only one group of crazed fans fighting for that one glimpse of their favorite band. The crowd would shift as people passed out. This only allowed me to move closer to the front. As you can tell, I was packed in until the end.
Your sight was not left out either. Plenty of pyrotechnics kept your eyes filled with colorful wonder as the music played on. Souvenir "AC/DC money" fell from the top of the building. The bills fluttered down to the hungry hands of the crowd. The stage was a constant flurry of excitement. This was generally caused by the hyperactive guitarist, Angus Young. Angus was never at a stand still. He wore a path in the floor running back and forth. Brian Johnson, the
was excited to attend the show, but I didn't know what to expect. I had always thought
Segmentation variables can be classified into four major classes; geographic, demographic, psychographic and behavioural. The use of these categories either individually or in combination assists companies to identify and establish market segments which is relevant to the product or service they are offering. This in turn helps these organisations to evaluate the relevant segments to choose the pertinent target market.
Many factors should be addressed when defining a target market. These factors include market segmentation, product life cycle, and the four "P's" that make the marketing mix. Market segmentation is the process of dividing a total market into market groups consisting of people who have relatively similar product wants and needs. There are four major segmentation variables: geographic, demographic, psychographic, and behavioral. Geographic segmentation includes world region, country region, city, density, or climate. Demographic segmentation can consist of age, gender, income, occupation, education, race, religion, or nationality. Social class, lifestyle, and personality fall into the psychographic segment. The behavioral segment divides buyers into groups based on their knowledge, attitudes, uses, or responses to a product (Bethel, 2007). Once the market segment is identified, that market can be targeted.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has a website that announces its programs. Anyone can easily find and choose a concert. I chose a concert for Sunday July 25, 2010. This concert was emerging artists from Ipalpiti Festibal 2010. It included the four pieces of music that are described below. One of these was Fantasiestucke, Opus 88, both Romanze and Duet were preformed. This concerto was performed by pianist Luiza Borac, violinist Vladimir Dyo, and cellist Yves Dharamraj. The second piece was Ahnung, a new discovery piece from Kinderszenen. This piece was U.S. Premiere, played solo by the pianist Luiza Borac. The third piece was Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Opus 47. This piece was an Andante cantabile piece. This concerto was performed by pianist Luiza Borac, violinist Conrad Chow and Adelya Shagidullina, and Cellist Kian Soltani. The last piece was Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Opus 44. What I discovered about my own musical understanding by attending this concert is the following thing. I know how to appreciate and to enjoy music that is a little bit familiar, but my understanding stops when a very new type of music is performed. I made a conclusion from this experience. My conclusion is that learning about music will increase the pleasure of listening to music, but that musical learning is not, perhaps, as easy as learning subjects like Math or History.
In 1979, China decided to establish a one child policy which states that couples are only allowed to have one child, unless they meet certain exceptions[1].In order to understand what social impacts the one child policy has created in China it important to evaluate the history of this law. China’s decision to implement a Child policy has caused possible corruption, an abuse of women’s rights, has led to high rates of female feticide, has created a gender ratio problem for China, and has led to specific problems associated with both the elderly and younger generation. Finally, an assessment of why China’s one child policy is important to the United States allows for a full evaluation of the policy.
...was full of ambitions and strong charisma could change from poor citizen into a magnate. Many young people at that time knew that only the strongest can survive in Russia, therefore the clans were created who defended their ideas and in the most cases kill their opponents who tried to stop them from getting rich. Bold heads and leather jackets were the signs of Russian gangs. These clans were racketing all businesses that had big profits, that is why they have started to gain power and money. The Russian criminals are very similar to the Cosa Nostra, they started from nothing and gained famous reputation and power. The Cosa Nostra gave Russians an idea that everyone can have their own rules and set of commands. Nobody is going to stop them if they have power and money, nobody has the right to command them, they are criminals and criminal always get what they want.
The reason for writing this topic is to increase the understanding of the one child policy implemented in china. This report gives specific statistics, case study and information about the one child policy in China and about the abuse of women by the government for having too many babies. The report provides an analysis and evaluation of the one child policy’s pros and cons. If the one child policy had not been introduced, there would have been a dramatic increase in population. On the other hand, this policy has caused a lot of pain to the family members.
To begin with, it is crucial to appreciate the meaning of segmentation and targeting because these two terms lay the foundation for this report. Consequently, segmentation is dividing a market, into groups of consumers with homogenous traits in order to provide each group with the desired product. What is the meaning of targeting? It is where an enterprise evaluates every segment with an objective of identifying segments with promising business opportunities. Considering the nature of the product in question, it sufficed to mention that liquor- filled chocolates are to be sold to adults.
There has been a long history of China’s one child policy, since it was first introduces in 1979 by a Chinese Leader Deng Xiaoping (Rosenberg n.p). The law was meant to be temporary and used to control the population; however it is still in use today (Rosenberg n.p). When the policy was first enforced, it only allowed one child per family , but it was recently changed to allow couples to have two children but only if either one of the parents is an only child (William n.p). If ,someone were to break the policy their punishment would result in fines. Forced abortions, abandonment, and infanticide are some of the things people are doing so that they do not have to pay these fines.
Music: the art of organized noise. The blend of pitch and rhythm combined in different mediums and enjoyed by our ears. A very interpretive art, music isn’t very clearly constricted or defined by one definition. With so many varieties of music, it’s difficult to say what aspect is really the most important. Some people think music’s history and the appreciation of music are the most important aspects to take into consideration. Some think complex in rhythms and melodies make the best music. Some people devote their whole lives to studying one genre of music in order to fully understand how that genre works. While all of these aspects of music are important, none of them can truly be compared with each other on a fair playing field. Music of different genres, eras, and geographic backgrounds were written for different purposes, different people, and different settings. Still, there is still one overarching theme that applies to all forms of music new or old: the way the composer presents his or her creation. The performance and presentation of a work of music is like the icing on the top of a cake. The cake may be the best you’ve ever tasted, but if the icing on the outside doesn’t look appealing or doesn’t taste good, chances are you’ll take a different piece of cake with better looking frosting next time. The performance of music is what appeals most to people. With live performance, an artist must “sell” his or her creation. They must put smile on their face and convey to the audience that this is their music and through the music explain why it’s awesome. They must persevere through whatever the stage, the audience, and their surroundings give them and put on a good show. In today’s popular music though, this aspect of showma...
China originally created this policy to control the nation's population with hopes to stop wide-spread poverty. The people alone could not solve the problem, so the government decided to intervene, creating the One Child Policy. The law was established by Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping in 1979 to limit China's population growth, and to conserve resources. The One Child Policy was designed to be temporary; however, it still continues to this day. The policy limits couples to have one child only. Consequences such as: fines, pressures to abort a pregnancy, and even forced sterilization accompanied second or subsequent pregnancies (Rosenberg). The policy was initially more like a voluntary agreement; where families who decided to have only one child would get full benefits for that child. Couples with two kids would get the same benefits as ones with one child if it was authorized by the government. However, couples who decided to have a third child would suffer penalties. The couples who had more than two children had to unde...
