Ever since I was young, I have always enjoyed making and building projects more than any other pastime. There are no limits to what can be built and there are many tools available to complete. If the tool is not in a personal inventory, there 's always someone around from whom the tool can be borrowed. Building teaches how something works and operates. After building a project, the builder then knows what every part of that system of parts does. Engineering is my dream job; it gives the opportunity to design new components and to see creativity in an operating system. Engineers are the ones who design many of the modern convenience of today 's society. Thus, in the field of engineering, there is no limit for a top job and even the best inventions in the world could use improvements in their designs. The first step to achieving the goal of becoming an engineer is college, which is probably the most important step. It is important for this to be a priority; making it first before a job, friends, and any other past time or leisure activities. College is an important step to becoming an engineer because the engineering field is a field, which requires a bachelor 's degree. Also, by the time I finish …show more content…
While in college, I work part time as a mechanic and every day I am eager to learn as much as I can, and as a result, I will grow and become more knowledgeable in mechanics. Also, the more opportunities to work on different pieces of equipment today provides more experiences I will have later to understand exactly how an item works. Also, I am fortunate to have a friend at work that is almost finished with college and has the exact same dream job as I perform. This friend often provides guidance on how to achieve my goals. He teaches me things almost every day, and I take advantage of this to increase my knowledge and career
Engineering is a large occupational field. An engineer does many things from designing, to build, to marketing. It combines science, math, and computer knowledge Education is very important whether it is college or high school. There are many competitions to help students get experience. An Imagineer builds, designs, and tests attraction for the Walt Disney Corporation. Being an Imagineer has many benefits, working for Walt Disney can be very rewarding. A Control Systems Engineering job at Walt Disney Imagineering is the career that many hope to achieve in the
...hanical engineering because I find it the most appealing. I participate in an architecture, construction, and engineering program at school called the ACE Mentor program and I have spoken to several mechanical engineers and gained insightful exposure. In this program, I also worked together with other students, teachers, and mentors to design and create a realistic model of a hotel which we then formally presented at a conference. This year we are building a research facility and interactive museum, which helps me decide which facet of engineering I want to explore. Although, I remain open minded, I prefer mechanical engineering because the work can help make advancements in robotics, medicine, and computers. No engineer works alone and I believe that if I pursue my interests in this field, I will have the opportunity to make contributions to a vast array of fields.
During my interview, I spoke with Keven Carpenter, founder of Porticos. Porticos is a mechanical engineering firm which specializes in product development. From attending this interview, I learned that mechanical engineering can be both rewarding and devastating. For example, most of the time, mechanical engineers in product development do not get patents and projects are often discarded. However, there are instances where a project became implemented in everyday technology and becomes patented. According to Kevin, this is an overwhelming rewarding experience, that many engineers and unable to participate

Money and fame do not motivate my goals. Engineering in all forms is a field of innovation and invention. Aspirations of any great engineer should be to introduce to the world a new idea, product, or service that will make people happier and the environment safer. Success in these challenges is a reward greater than any dollar amount or public recognition. Engineers bring societies to new levels of civilization through their advancements in technology and discovery. The challenge to provide people with ever-increasing standards while at the same time feeding the population with ideas of what could be attracts my imagination, intelligence, and curiosity far more than any other career option. The engineering field embraces these challenges.
The word engineer comes from the latin word ingeniare. ingeniare means construct or craftsmanship. Ever since the beginning of time we have had engineers. Engineering is the combination of math and science , solving world problems to help better the world around us. Being an engineer takes a lot of knowledge, creativity, and hard work. A typical engineer can clearly see a problem and is capable of fining a solution. A senior engineer or engineering manager usually doesnt do as much technical work, but usally lot of managing. Some of the first official engineers were military engineers. They were employed by the goverment to build such things as roads, bridges, and weapons. US mililary Academy at Westpoint was the first school to offer an education in enginnering. Engineering is a very broad field. Engineers are always at a high demand, we could never have enough brilliant minds making the world better. Engineers are needed everywhere. Engineering managers have to have a bachelor's degree or higher, they usually direct and seek solutions to problems and are sometimes called executi...
Engineering has been a key interest of mine since childhood. While still in grade school I enjoyed listening to my father, an electrical engineer, teach me about advances in technology, and was always eager to hear more. I was introduced to my first computer at the age of five, and have loved interacting with them ever since. My decision to study engineering as a career was no surprise to those who knew me.
My decision to become an electrical engineer was not a decision I took too long ago. It is something that I decided to pursue when I entered a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) high school. It was then that I realized how much I enjoyed working with computers and building circuits, and the fact that this career involved many subjects. Doing a lot of research to understand better what it meant to be an Electrical Engineer, I found out that in order to succeed in this career one had to know a little bit of everything. In other words, subjects such as science and math are essential to know if someone wants to be successful electrical engineer. An electrical engineer is someone who finds practical solutions to everyday problems that involve electricity, such as computers, cell phones, among other electrical equipments. In order to create a useful device one must know where to start and this is where science comes in. An electrical engineer must be able to use the scientific method, which means; one must form a procedure, test it out, and write a conclusion. These parts of the scientific method must be written clearly, so that others can recreate and test out a device or project. Math also plays a key role in this area of study, because one must be precise when creating a new device that others are going to use. For example, if one were to create a new type of cell phone one must know a lot of math in order to be able to progr...
An engineer is the person who build, design and maintains machines, engine or public works. It is very important to have engineer in the society or country. This is because they are the person who responsible to invent things and create new technology. There are many type of engineer in this world. For example, mechanical engineer, chemical engineer, electrical engineer and biomedical engineer. Each field of engineering has their own role and specific work. The engineer must cooperate to each other to solve the problem of society. They cannot work on their own or selfish in facing or solving the problem. So, an engineer must good in teamwork. The soft skills is very important. Every engineer must know how to work together or other people will
An ambition to learn and grow and having passion for engineering have prompted me to go in for graduate studies. Chasing my Dreams! While growing up at a young age I was always intrigued by objects that produced mechanical work and energy be it prime movers such as automobiles, construction and mining equipment, turbo machinery such as jet engines, space shuttles or complex mechanisms of mechanical watches, I used to spend a lot of time trying to learn and figure out their basis and propositions, it was necessary for me to explore my inner conscience to understand my fascination towards machines and their ingenuity, Mechanical engineering seemed a direct consequence of my convictions. I have always admired my father as a civil engineer and his hard work and struggles throughout his life; He has always been a role model for me. He motivated me to pursue my dreams so I decided to pursue my undergraduate study in Mechanical Engineering
When you want to advance in your field you must be able to obtain certifications in many different programs. When you have a certification it says something about what you know as an engineer, “Certifications provide status to those who have proven their knowledge and give employers a benchmark standard for measuring employee candidates” (Ricci, 2012). Before you apply for a mechanical engineering job you should get a bachelor but now in the workplace you will need a master’s degree to have a chance of moving up in the workplace. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2015) says, “Some colleges and universities offer 5-year programs that allow students to obtain both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree”. Having this choice will allow you to save money on college and then be able to have time for internships and possible a job while you complete your
Engineers are valuable assets to any company because they think analytically. Engineers may advance to become technical specialists or to supervise a staff or team of engineers and technicians. Some eventually become engineering managers or enter other managerial or sales jobs.
It seems that every era from ancient times to modern times has engineers playing a strong role in the development of society; they build many structures that identify that culture and time period. Engineers create something out of an idea; they fill a need and fulfill a dream such as a skyscraper that no one thought would ever be possible. “Scientists investigate that which already is; engineers create that which has never been” (Albert Einstein).
... do. I am the type of person that becomes bored very quickly with the same thing day in and day out, so this fast paced, always-changing work atmosphere is perfect for my personality. As a civil engineer I will choose to work outside with a hands-on approach to the projects I take on. This will be a very rewarding career for me, since I will get to see a specific design all the way through to the finished project, and I will get to observe how this finished project helps the public. I also like the fact that my work would benefit more people in one day than almost any other profession. Since I am good at solving problems and designing and constructing things, I should have no problems as a civil engineer. Because civil engineering has all the qualities I am looking for in a job, I feel that it is the perfect career for me.
In the most basic sense, engineering means “making things happen.” It is the practical application of science and math, the two subjects I am most passionate about, to solve everyday problems. It opens up a world of opportunity to create innovative technology that influences many aspects of people’s lives, this giving an individual the power to make a difference. While I am deeply interested in the subjects that are the foundation of engineering, in addition I have many other personal reasons for pursuing civil engineering in specific. I am motivated by my desire to fulfill my lifelong goal of creating purposeful infrastructure, to make all of my family proud, and to prove that not all engineers
