A Mass in a Catholic Church
A mass in a catholic church is divided into two topics. These are the
liturgy of the word and the liturgy of the Eucharist.
The liturgy of the word is focused on the lectern where the main vocal
parts of mass take place,-the first and second reading's , the gospel
etc. And is a time where God is thanked and praised. The mass starts
with the potential rite where everyone taking place in the mass say's
the prayers "Lord have mercy", and "I confess". These two important
prayers are said to ask God for forgiveness, to say sorry for all the
things they have done wrong-to cleanse that person from sin.
Prayers are used in all aspects of the mass whether it is for
forgiveness or to ask of something but a main type of prayer that we
must not forget is praise which is to say the "Gloria", and the "Glory
to God" to thank God as the creator of heaven, and earth, the savior
of whom saved us from sin , and the holy spirit as the life-giver.
After these prayers are spoken a member of the church-from the
congregation makes a stand to the lectern where he/she reads two
readings which are the food for the spiritual life of God's people.
After the two reading's the member of the congregation will resume his
seat and the deacon, takes his place at the lectern where he reads the
gospel and speaks about one of Jesus' teachings.
When the Deacon finishes the reading of the Gospel the priest will
then take a rise and explain the readings and Gospel of Jesus'
teachings. for example the story of the woman being stoned. Jesus
taught us not to judge others ,but instead to treat other people as

consecration and is also to remember Christ through the bread and wine
as the body and blood of Jesus. The communions the transubstantion
which means "our belief" so it is what Roman Catholics believe. The
word "mass" itself comes from the Latin phrase "ite mite est" meaning
"to be sent out" in English and the word "Eucharist" means
"thanksgiving" is also used for the celebration to God and to praise
God.
At the end of the mass the priest will say either "go in the peace of
Christ", "the mass is ended, go in peace" or "go in peace to love and
to serve the lord. This is the final blessing from the priest and is
his dismissal. From one of these dismissals the priest is telling us
to take what we have learned about Jesus through the Gospel and spread
his "word" to the rest of the community.
Priest is saying go spread the word of the Lord so that Mass can go on
The Foremass ends with the opening prayer or first oration. The second part of the Mass is made up of readings from the Old Testament or New Testament. This is followed by a chant called the Gradual. The final reading is from one of the four Gospels and is followed by a sermon. The third part of the Mass is called the Offertory.
Analysis of a Major Sacramental Prayer - Option 1: Blessing and Invocation of God over Baptismal Water (Rite of Baptism for One Child)
I am a nondenominational Christian and I decided to attend a catholic mass. I attended mass at the Conversion of St Paul Parish on April 6, 2014. The preside was Father Senan Glass and the starting time was 10am. The Conversion of St Paul Parish’s location is 4120 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. The church was very big and the stain glass windows were beautiful. At first, I felt uncomfortable because I did not know where to sit or what to do. I really did not have an idea of what to expect. Everything seemed very formal and the service was easy to follow because of the bulletin I was given, which had the order of service on it. The service was concise and it only lasted about an hour.

The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church recognizes two sacraments only. They are the Sacrament of Baptism and The Lord’s Supper. “Sacraments, ordained of Christ, are not only badges or tokens of Christian men’s profession, but rather they are certain signs of grace and God’s good will toward us, by . . . invisibly in us, and . . . quicken, but also . . . confirm, our faith in, Him.” Baptism is not only a flag of declaration and stamp of separation by which Christians
The doctrine of the Catholic Church relies on the fear installed in its people to appeal to religious duty. For example, upon arriving late to church, Florence is berated by Father Byrnes. He is made to hold his arms out like Christ for the duration of the service in penance for his mistake (Franklin, “Bless Me Ultima”). This is a relatively strict and demeaning. Overall, the Catholic Church is controlled by a strict
Often activities are habitually connected to a person. For example, a person who listens to rap music will typically wear clothing associated with the genre. In addition, smith identifies this concepts liturgy which means "a shorthand term for those rituals that are loaded with an ultimate Story about who we are and what we're for" (pg. 46). Furthermore, participating in certain activities demonstrates a person characteristics.
The Lord's Prayer Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
The seven formal sacraments play a major role in religion, each have their own divine meaning that was set forth by the Lord. Confirmation is the sacrament in which one seals Baptism, where one is given the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. This is when you make a choice as a follower of God to live your life as a Christian, and to wholeheartedly accept Jesus Christ into your heart.
Through the various calls for response made by the priests, “let us be attentive”, “let us pray to the Lord”, “peace be with you” and “servant of God” tradition is linguistically demonstrated. Each of these and other prayers was concluded with a response or “Amen” typically by the priest or the choir. Also, we saw reminders of God’s beauty in the images of those who loved and served the Lord throughout the ages as painting on the ceilings and walls.
...express their beliefs as well as listen to the words of the Lord. As Jesus said at his last meal with his disciples before his execution, “Do this in memory of me”. This quote is reflected in the mass in the stage of ‘being fed’ when an adherent receives both the body and blood of Christ, called Transubstantiation. In this way, Christian adherents are able to unit in a diverse environment following the ways that our Lord has taught us. Therefore through this, Christian adherents are able to express their faith.
teach right from wrong. I also think that the closer to God you are. then the safer you feel as you know he is right there watching over you. I will be there. Another reason why Catholics attend mass may be so that they can express their faith in God.
The Mass is celebrated in order for us, his followers, to receive God’s grace within a place of worship. The Mass serves as a form of intimate unification between God and all of his worshippers and disciples that make up the Mystical Body of Christ. This is only possible
