Final In this image there are two stick figures the background is all white so the audience has no distractions. On the left of the image the stick figure has a nagging type of pose with a thought bubble above his head. Inside the thought bubble there is an image of a tree on a plain of grass surrounded by other trees, the sky is blue and the sun is shining. On the right side another stick figure is standing with a defensive type of pose. The stick figure is holding a red fish with a thought bubble that reads “we can’s worry about the environment, we’re in the middle of a war!”. Instead of a face’s the stick figures have letter’s on the left head an “S” is used as a face and an “F” is used on the other. To begin with, this image was created by Rafe Sagarin he give an example of how much nations really care about the environment. Rafe Sagarin is a doctor he’s currently a marine ecologist for university of Arizona. The fallacy in the image is none other than a red herring. What is a red herring? A red herring is when the arguer brings up an important subject that is completely irreverent to the main topic at hand. This is done to avoid conversation of the real issue being discussed when an arguer does this they most likely will not return to the main issue. In this image one of the stick figures begins to talk about the environment. The other stick figure is quick to bring up the irrelevant issue of a current war going on to divert the attention of global warming.
