A Environmental Issue Website
Environmental issues are a large concern in this day. So, I am here to tell you about a website that is geared to informing its readers about the environment in which we live in and why it is important. I am here to enlighten you about this website and ones associated to it, because I personally feel as if the environment is not an issue that people worry and think about quite as often as they should. I am hoping by informing my audience about this site, it will allow the reader to get more involved with the environment and topics which involve our environment.
According to Envirolink, one of the most important stories right now is as follows: “The largest ice shelf in the Arctic, a solid feature for 3,000 years, has broken up, scientists in the United States and Canada said on Monday. Local warming of the climate is to blame, they said -- adding that they did not have the evidence needed to link the melting ice to the steady, planet-wide climate change known as global warming. Climate change has affected ocean temperature, salinity and flow patterns, which also influence the break-up of ice shelves in the Antarctic. "It's not just as simple as it gets x degrees warmer and the ice melts this much," Mueller said. Warmer temperatures weaken the ice, leaving it vulnerable to changed currents and other forces. This is due to the climate change, and if you are interested and want to read more go the Envirolink.” (Envirolink site)
If you are interested and want to read more continue reading. You will find important information about Envirolink, and other similar websites such as Institute for Global Communications, and Wild North West. Kristallnacht was a savage night where hundreds where murdered. In addition, Kristallnacht means the night of broken glass in German, and The Night of Broken Glass occurred on the night of November 9th until November 10th. Kristallnacht took place in small parts of Austria, Sudentland, and all over Germany in addition discrimination of the Jews had dated all the way back to 1935 by Germans. Two years before Kristallnacht, Jews were treated unfairly and ignored by the society, furthermore Germans did not allow Jews attend public parks and in 1936, Jews were banned to come see the Olympic Games which were held in Germany at the time. Kristallnacht got its nickname The Night of Broken Glass due to the fact that during November 9th and 10th rioters and police, violent and extreme, sh...
Kristallnacht has been described by James M. Deem as “a night of terror, where the Nazis raided the Jews shops by breaking the windows and destroying their things” (Deem 6). Kristallnacht was also referred to as “the night of the broken glass” because of all the broken windows from the Jewish houses and shops. In “Night”, Kristallnacht was described as a night of anti-Jewish riots. During this time Jewish homes were robbed, synagogues burned, Jewish businesses destroyed, and many Jews were, arrested, tortured, beaten, or killed. A tax was then imposed by the government on the Jews. They were being forced to pay for Kristallnacht property damage. The Germans wanted to try and terrorize the Jews by doing this. After the night of Kristallnacht, over 30,000 Jews were sent to concentration camps. Also lots of Jewish artifacts were destroyed. The rest of the world started to become aware of what was happening and decided that they should help them. They started sending their armies to rescue the Jews in the concentration
It is told that on the night of November 9 and early November 10, 1938, Nazis incited a pogrom against the Jewish in Austria and Germany. It is termed, “Kristallnact” (“Night of Broken Glass). This night of violence included pillaging and burning of synagogues, breaking of the windows in Jewish owned businesses, looting, and physically attacking of Jewish people. Approximately, 30,000...
Abortion, which is defined as a deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, is one of the most controversial issues in society. Many people believe that abortion is unethical and morally wrong, while others believe that it is a woman’s right to decide what to do with her body. According to www.census.gov, “the number of abortions performed annually in the U.S. has leveled off at 1.2 million a year” (1). This statistic supports how many women are choosing abortion. Although abortion is legal in the United States, many people continue to voice their opinions on how it is a human rights violation and should be illegal everywhere. The practice of abortion should be banned in society because it terminates the life of an innocent unborn child, causes long-term emotional effects, as well as major health risks for women who opt for abortion.
The environment and the health of the surrounding population go hand in hand. The Environmental Protection Agency takes on this ever so important mission of protecting them both. The mission statement of the EPA states, “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Small Business Programs is to support the protection of human health and the environment by advocating and advancing the business, regulatory, and environmental compliance concerns of small and socio-economically disadvantaged businesses, and minority academic institutions (US Enviromental Protection Agency, 2010).” The impact of its mission can be defined clearly as it examines the impact of contamination in the air, the water, and the land on human health.
To-date, we've not had any issues or environmental concerns that directly effected nor incidentally impacted my community. Nonetheless, I think a great method to improve the public's awareness of the range of accessible information would be best to be advised of (or, reminded about) the website when the local news forecast relates to environmentally-related health issues. Additionally, if the K-12 education sectors are uninformed, they should be appropriately included on a rotating schedule. Children are natural “monitors” to help adults remember such matters. Plus, I imagine it would be excellent environmental educational “training” for successive generations.

The Kristallnacht was said to be the beginning of the Holocaust and what started the Voyage of the St. Louis. It was a bad way to start off the boarding and sailing of the St. Louis. The Kristallnacht also referred as the “Night of Crystal” or the “Night of Broken Glass” destroyed about 7,000 homes and hundreds of synagogues in Germany. The Nazi troops arrested thousands of people in
Who killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy? This question can be considered as cryptic as the meaning of life. Does anyone know who killed Kennedy? The J.F.K Assassination is a conspiracy wrapped in a conspiracy, wrapped in an enigma? Can the people of the world serious accept what the U.S government has told them - Lee Harvey Oswald single handily killed the President of the U.S.A? Evidence shows that it seems possible that the American Central Intelligence Agency could have been involved in the president's death? All the facts suggest that this assassination was not the work of one, Lee Harvey Oswald, but a higher power, one which had the clearance to change motorcade routes, fake photo's and successfully cover-up the assassination until this very day.
As the third most common disease among adolescents, people should not take anorexia lightly. According to the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, 86% of students experience the start of an eating disorder by the age of twenty. Of those students, 43% report to have started developing the disease between sixteen and twenty (“Eating Disorders”). Having an eating disorder, especially while young, can seriously and irreversibly damage many vital organs: anorexia can cause infertility and heart problems. In fact, 20% of women suffering anorexia die early from the repercussions of their disorder, including heart or organ failure, malnutrition, or suicide (“Eating Disorders”). Women purposefully harm themselves, usually knowing what the consequences could be, in order to be accepted as “beautiful.”
Anorexia Nervosa is a mental condition which affects one’s both physical and mental health. It is a condition that causes one to have a distorted self-image and forces themselves to starve even if their body weight is already dangerously low. They often restrict their food intake to the point where they are extremely thin. Anorexia is found to occur most often in women, especially those who are aged 15 to 35. There have been cases reported as early as the age of 7 and as late as the age of 80. Researchers believe that about 5 to 10 percent of women overall have a distorted body image but approximately 1 to 2 percent of those women suffer from anorexia nervosa. Often at times anorexia can begin during the early teen years. Over 90 percent of the victims of anorexia are found to be women but yet many cases go unnoticed or unreported.
Abortions should be illegal; an abortion kills a human being that cannot fight back. How would you like if someone pulled you out of bed and duct taped your mouth shut, then just cut off your head? I don’t think that you would like it very well, but they wouldn’t give you a choice. Other countries are making abortions illegal, unless you were a victim of a rape (Abortions- Why this is wrong. As told by a pathologist, 1999). This is still bad but it’s better then just being able to use an abortion like its birth control. Although abortions are not illegal in the lawful term, they should be because it’s just like cold hearted murder. The baby didn’t have a choice and that’s not right.
The negative side of global warming is that it leads to melting of ice. The world's glaciers, especially Arctic glaciers are melting faster than new snow and ice can supplement them. During the melting of Arctic ice opens over the dark surface of the water or soil and balance change reflects less and absorb a greater amount of heat, therefore, large areas of ice melt rapidly (News, global warming). There is evidence, which will support this argument: scientists from the University of California in San Diego investigated satellite observation data for the Arctic for 1979-2011 years. Since the 1970s, the area covering of the ice has decreased by 40 % and the region has warmed up to 2 degrees (News global warming). It means, that global warming affects to the wildli...
Although more people are aware of the impacts we have on our environment, there are still people that choose to ignore scientific evidence, or do not fully understand the consequences. Further education and research are critical components in an effort to become more sustainable. Fortunately, younger generations are learning about the need to address environmental issues so that changes can be made to ensure our way of life is sustainable.
There are lots of environmental issues going on globally. The earth faces problems such as pollution, global warming, waste disposal, and loss of biodiversity. These are just a small amount of issues out of the so many. These environmental problems pose an abundant amount of risk to the health of humans and animals. There needs to be a solution to all these problems and that is by informing others, so that way everyone can make the environment a better place.
