Time of Action & Duration of Action The play takes place in three days, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and the day following Christmas. Basic Mood This play's mood is one of question and anxiety, we are constantly wondering if Nora's deception will be revealed. We also feel the strong connection between Nora and Anne Marie because Anne Marie raised Nora and is now caring for Nora's children, very maternal and loving. Brief Synopsis of Plot Setting's are all in the home of Torvald and Nora. {Act I Scene I} Nora comes home with an abundance of gifts from shopping. {Act I Scene II} Torvald is named Bank Manager, but reprimands Nora to not spend so lavishly. She sputters back about being able to afford it now. {Act I Scene III} Dr. Rank and Mrs. Linde enter the Helmer's home. Dr. Rank visits with Torvald and Mrs. Linde visits with Nora. Nora's past school friend Mrs. Linde rekindles her romance with Krogstad and has the power to stop the truth from unfolding, however Mrs. Linde tells Krogstad to let things stand because Nora has an obligation to be truthful. Once the truth is revealed and Torvald's outburst at Nora is seen, Nora realizes that she is not the person she wants to be and to find that person she must leaver her life with her children Torvald to find herself. Overall the play was a fascinating read. I was sure that all would end well and Nora and Torvald would live happily ever after. We can all see ourselves in all of the characters, I'm sure. We each do things that are regrettable and immoral but as long as we can justify our actions we move on. However selfish her actions may be Nora shows us that maybe we need to see things from the outside to truly see what's on the inside.
