Inferiority is the condition of being lower in status or quality than another or others.Women have been seen as inferior to men from the past centuries. As it may seem that women have adapted into society to be seen as equals with men, that is not the case. In the short film Nora and the play A Doll house by Ibsen Nora, a troubled character is seen as inferior to the men she works with and her husband. I believe that the short film Nora is an accurate retelling of Ibsen’s A Doll House because it portrays the inferiority of the female gender in the 21st century as present in the 19th century play.

Gender roles play a crucial role in determining superiority in the workplace. Nora in the short film Nora walks into her work place and runs to the bathroom to get ready because she had no time to get dressed at home. This is because she has take the children to school and meet the nanny before putting herself first. Nora in Ibsen's play A Doll House was similar to the modern day Nora, in the play Nora had no time for herself, she was seen as the caretaker for the children. They are both performances put on to please the men in her life. While at her workplace her men colleagues say they have started the presentation over the weekend while on the golf field. This shows that they see themselves superior to Nora because golf is a thing only men do. Like 19th century Nora, she was not allowed to talk business with her husband and the men in her life because she was seen as a child. They did not take her seriously. While at this meeting one of her colleagues talks about how he has to go to his daughters dance recital, and how it is something he doesn't want to do.
