Personally, I believe having a positive attitude while in school and doing tons of work is very important. As a honors student, I know first hand what it is like to have loads of work while also attempting to stay positive at the same time. Maintaining a positive attitude while also balancing three honors classes can be a struggle, not only mentally, but physically as well. School can sometimes be difficult on students and staying positive can often be a battle as well. Lastly, I have had my own experiences with staying positive while going through a difficult time with my health and at times I found it difficult to stay positive all of the time. As a teenager, I am faced with many obstacles that are sometimes difficult to battle. When attempting to keep a positive attitude and balancing school along with health issues at the same time, it can be extremely difficult. Personally, I have been faced with many obstacles the past six months. It has been difficult on many occasions to stay
Having a positive outlook can be very important when being involved in a conflict or trying to solve one. This is how Anne Frank and Louise Ogawa from First Read: Dear Miss Breed got through the roughest times of their lives. They kept a positive outlook on things and tried to make the best of the worst. Just looking on the bright side, even if it feels like there isn’t one can make a huge difference. As a great thinker, such as Joyce Meyer, once said, ‘’A positive attitude gives you power over your circumstances instead of your circumstances, having power over you’’. If they did not maintain a positive outlook, then who knows how they would have survived. Having a positive outlook gives you the strength to keeping going
A positive attitude is, after all, absolutely necessary to achieve success since it influences the outcome of a task more than any other factor (Jacobs 2016). Jane Satrom definitely fits the bill when it comes to having a positive attitude. During her first year as a teacher, Mrs. Satrom recounts having two students who tested her patience and good heart. The two African-American students “accused [her] of being racist” and were constantly going to any possible extent to “get [her] off topic so they [did not] have to work” (J. Satrom, personal communication, September 27, 2016). This was barely the beginning of Mrs. Satrom’s career and she was already facing difficult situations on the job. However, although she “drove home, crying, many a day, over those two” she kept her positive attitude and moved on. This is a prime example of the correct way for someone to handle an obstacle they
Freshman fifteen is the NEW EPIDEMIC!!.. or not? In the eyes of freshman, college can be seen as entering the lion’s den when transitioning from high school. Students routines, diets, and moods drastically change resulting in an imbalance of one’s well being. As a way to cope college freshman typically look towards food for a release. Therefore, this is where the term freshman fifteen was born. Freshman fifteen is the idea that in one’s first year of attending college, the student will gain fifteen pounds. On average students are gaining weight at an abnormal pace however, it is not exactly the amount that the media has portrayed.
First of all, grades. Grades are the thing that has everyone, stressed out and overwhelmed. I'm one of those type of people. I always pushed to get A's and B's. Even in my hardest classes like algebra 2 and chemistry that really pushed me. Where I had my moments where I didn't try to push myself to my full potential. But, all in all I can ever ask of myself is that I tried my best to get the best grades possible.
Although too much positivity can lead to naiveté, I still believe in the power of optimism. After a long day, nothing beats the feeling knowing that you made someone else smile and believe, if for just a second, the world is a wonderful place. Being positive is a choice. And contrary to popular belief, it’s not always easy. There are times that you may want to give up or just be content with being negative. But, you must pick yourself back up and remember that tomorrow is another day, and every day is an opportunity to make your situation better. As Richard M. DeVos said, “Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A 'you can do it' when things are tough.” This is an idea that I try to live by every day; my state of eternal optimism.
The freshman fifteen is a belief that students in their first year of college gain fifteen pounds. However, is the estimated weight gain of fifteen pounds actually accurate, and what would the cause of this weight gain be? Students typically gain weight their first year of college for various reasons. Some of the reasons that they gain weight are because they can't afford healthy food, they do not know how to cook, they do not have time to exercise, and they do not have time to make a proper meal.
We were born into the world as individuals that are destined for greatness, but instead we are regenerated by society to meet certain standards. As we grow older we aspire to be doctors, teachers, and firemen because we are taught to assimilate and think within certain limitations. There are a distinct few who stray away from this pattern and dream bigger than the common careers of society. Some of which aspire to be something more eccentric like a bike courier, flavorist, or greeting card artist. Although these children are amazingly unique, they are deemed to be unsuccessful and detached from society. There are two types of people in the world that are most easiest to influence, which are children and fools. Children are innocent and docile,
It’s the end of the road for my high school career and what a year it has been. This year went by so quickly, I felt it was certain. Since the beginning of high school, I’ve grown through the years into the person I’d become. Eventually, I would soon enter the college life and live on through the rest of my life. Linden High School was a giant journey full of obstacles that amended who I was as a student. By the time senior year arrived, I felt like I like I could give it one last shot. To show the teachers that I wasn’t going to let my senior year go to waste by slacking off. The majority of my senior year was me trying to figure out which college best suited me. I wanted to major somewhere in the business field and through all the open houses’
Optimism is a great quality or characteristic to have, it is the ability to have a positive outlook on life and to always be confident
Not only that but also that if things aren't good always keep positive thought on things because everything, as bad as it is, there's some good happening with it.
Once you have a positive outlook towards the situation and in your life, you will be able to know that everything will still be okay and go back to normal after all the pains and hurts. Having a positive mindset will make you realize and feel that there is more to life than this challenge and it will push you to move on towards the future.

Mental attitude refers to the complex mental state of a person which includes beliefs, emotions, values, and attitudes on which one’s acts certainly. Even before until now, self-help books and popular beliefs have already speculated the power of positive mental attitude in the lives of a person. Similarly, a number of theories on positive psychology may support this claim. On the basis of Seligman’s (1998) theory, pessimists tend to explain bad events that happened in their life as internal, stable, and global throughout their lives. Such people tend to develop learned helplessness and are prone to depression. Personal outlook in life, therefore, affects students’ performance. In school, study shows that pessimistic student performs less than their level of “talent” whereas optimistic student performs high (Seligman,
I believe in positive thinking because it is like a small plant which can grow huge with the help of some fertilizer and regular care. Similarly, the more I use positive thinking, the better I will be at it, and the more it will grow. I am not saying that it is easy to think positively all the time, but I believe that most of my thoughts and ideas should reflect happiness and positivity. To obtain happiness one needs to learn to be optimistic in even the most difficult situations. Positive thinking helps me find a way in tough situations.
If you've ever felt perplexed about how to be more positive, you'll be reassured to know it's very much under your own control. Becoming aware of your thoughts and feelings will allow you to change them on the spot. One cannot simply switch from a negative attitude to a positive one overnight, however, it can be achieved by anyone willing to dedicate time and willpower.
