On November 6, 2016 I went to the Minnesota Vikings game it was a lot of fun. Before the game started we tailgated. When we were tailgating me, Dylan my Brother, and Thomas Myer were playing football. In a grass area right next to where we parked we had parked in a Parking Ramp and at the top there was a huge Vikings picture of there logo. when we were playing football the ground was really hard so when we got tackled it hurt and in some places there were rocks but luckily nobody fell on one or hit one. I thought it was really fun! When we started walking towards the huge Stadium (that could hold 66,000 thousand fans!) I was really excited to go into the Stadium, we walked through a glass Walkway that you could see all of the fans that were at the game. Then we were right into the Stadium. The Stadium was huge it was made out of glass that had to be pretty strong because there weren’t any poles in some places and in one spot the glass would open so then it looked like a huge glass door which it pretty much was. Right when we walked in we saw a huge …show more content…
The lions got the ball because they won the coin toss( that’s where an official flips a coin) and they decided that they want the ball which every other team in the NFL would do too in overtime, because if you score a touchdown you win the game. Blair Walsh kicked the ball to the lions they returned but didn’t get far they only returned it to the 13 yard line. The first good play the lions had was a 23 yard catch by Eric Ebron the detroit lions tight end,Then Golden Tate the Detroit Lions wide receiver had a 12 yard catch. On one of the plays Xavier Rhodes the Minnesota Vikings cornerback got called for pass interference, and all of these plays were on third down. Now the play that ended the game Golden Tate caught the ball right next to the sideline and shuke off Harrison Smith then ran into the endzone for a touchdown! The Vikings lose, DANG IT! The game was still really fun
When the Vikings reached the New World, they called the native inhabitants (American Indians or Native Americans), “Skræling.” There has been much debate as to what exactly this word or label meant. Some translate it as “skin wearers,” which may be true as to how they described them, being the Norse generally wore woolen or linen clothing and North American Natives generally wore animal skins. But there was one additional thing puzzling about the Norse and the Skræling. The Viking explorers weren't curious or baffled by these new people. As if, they'd come into contact with people like this before and their way of life. 500 years later, when other Europeans had come to the New World (The Americas), they were ultimately curious of these strange new people and their ways that they had never seen before. But not the Norse, the Norse hint that they have come into regular contact with people like this on a fairly regular basis.
All across cultures in history, varying groups of beliefs have come into contact with one another. As for early Muslims, military expansion and travel were key components for spreading the Islamic religion to foreign nations. However, not all exchanges were hostile or wholly based on the conquest of exotic lands. Some interactions solely were based on capturing lands to control, while allowing non-converters to remain in the area as the military continued forward gaining new territory. The primary sources, The Viking Rus, Peace Terms with Jerusalem, and The Pact to Be Accorded to Non-Muslim Subjects provide insight on how Muslims interacted with other religious groups. Early Muslims saw the expansion of Islam through conquest, travel, and trade with foreign cultures and beliefs, all while having unusual exchanges with each faith.
When we hears the term Viking an immediate image of bloodthirsty men with long beards and horned helmets is conjured up in our minds. This is the image the historical sources have given us, and it is partly true. Vikings were merciless when raiding, but they were peaceful when they traded. Their navigational technology was exceptional, and the ones who settled in foreign lands contributed greatly to the lands’ culture.
Every step it got bigger. I was building up excitement the whole way there! I can see it very clearly now. I was about two hours before the game started so they didn’t let us in yet. Outside, there were booths and trucks that had a lot of fan gear and football equipment.

This is what I had been hoping for the entire year. I had been to many that were quite the same to this one, but none that could give me the same enduring edginess and serenity that I was feeling right now. My eyes skimmed across the hundreds of people who were all there for the same reason as me. Striving to be out of the sweltering sun, but not out of clear view of what I came for, I lead myself in a mighty search for the spot for which I belonged. As I sat down, I prepared myself for the pain that I was going to feel about an hour later. I always forgot how sore I would get from sitting on the bleachers for so long, but every time I approached them, I would remember and smile.
Beowulf's Physical Journeys The physical journeys that Beowulf goes through in this poem are more than a mere change in location. They represent a change that Beowulf is going to go through. After each journey, since they were followed with a fight, or battle, Beowulf changes. He changed in more ways than just young to old; he changed into a heroic warrior and eventually a king.
Beowulf is a very brave hero, he has fought and killed many creatures before, but this battle was different. He knew this battle was of great importance to everyone, and that made him that much more nervous. This creature was fierce and had been tormenting their village for as long as they could remember, so her death would be a huge victory for Beowulf and it would be an even bigger relief for the villagers. All of the people in the village were cheering for Beowulf as he walked away headed off to the greatest battle of his life.
My classmates and I had to take the subway, it was really crowded, my face was literally glued to the window. The subway roared with cheering fans, it shook the whole train station. The train finally made it to our destination, everyone scattered out subway like cockroaches. The TD garden stadium, arena was stunning. This has been my first time ever viewing Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks live instead of watching it in my family room. The seats of TD Garden's stadium rumbled with faith to encourage the Celtics. I met Rajon Rondo on the sideline, he was injured, so he unable to participate in the game. He had a great sense of humor and great sportsmanship. Even though the Boston Celtics lost the game, it was awesome an experience for my classmates and I. The next morning, it was time for us to fly back home to Arkansas.
At 11:30 it was 97 degrees. Everyone was dying on the field. I was dying too, but I had to suck it up and keep going. Then later on , it was getting harder to breath, but at the same time coach spillan was making us run gasers. Some of my teammates didn’t make it, but still made them do it. Other then that a lot of people start complaining. They were complaining about how hot it was, that they was running too much, and they were tired.
Growing up in Sweden was difficult for Beowulf because he wasn’t like everyone else. Beowulf was stronger than anyone in Sweden, if anyone tried to fight him he could knock them out in one punch. When Beowulf parents found out about his power they saw it as an opportunity to get more money. So they set up a small arena where people could come out and try and beat Beowulf in a fight. Whoever defeated him would be known as the strongest man or woman in Sweden. For many days, people came and attempted to defeat Beowulf, but none were victorious Beowulf’s parents were thrilled with all the money they were collecting from the townspeople. Beowulf, on the other hand, hated beating people up because he cared for them. He was the type of person who
The moment had finally arrived, we were about to enter the newly built stadium. As we approached the entrance, there was a small line of people waiting their turn to be frisked. While waiting in line, I noticed that there were certain things not allowed into the stadium for safety reasons. One lady had a large chain that resembled a dog chain in her pocket. The guard told her to take it back to her car or throw it in the trash. When the lady threw her chain in the trash I realized how devoted some of these fans really were. I thought to myself," maybe I'm not as big of fan as I thought," and continued through the gates. After our entire group got through security we had to separate, due to the different seating assignments.
In the earliest years of the Vikings, there was little history recorded due to the polytheistic views that they followed. After the Vikings converted to Christianity, there were eventually written documents created pertaining to their existence. In Viking Warfare, I.P. Stephenson states that the Vikings “first described attack took place in AD 789”(11). The Vikings were also known as Norsemen. They were great storytellers, and that is perhaps how society knows so much about them today. The stories that the Norsemen told were called Sagas. Today, Vikings are often depicted as murderous savages, but while they were not pillaging villages they were actually quite a peaceful civilization. There were three countries that Vikings evolved from; Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. Although it may seem that all Vikings were on the same side, they quarreled with each other as well. Despite the fact that Viking battles were bloody and gruesome they were also known to be the most hygienic out of many of the earlier civilizations. There was not a huge percentage of Vikings that went out and raided but when they did they made a huge impact on what Vikings are now known for. The success of Viking warfare and raids relied primarily on the uses of armor, weapons, long ships, and battle tactics.
While researching the Vikings and what made them such fierce warriors, I learned that the cause of their behavior came from their code of ethics as well as their ideals and religion.
There was players smiling and my family was smiling. Then my dad lit a bunch of fireworks. Then the next thing I knew there was a cop car rolling down the street.
