A Day At Lynd’s Fruit Farm
Imagine arriving at a farm, friendly people greeting and directing you, apple trees as far as you can see, and even spotting a corn maze! With Wagons strolling around and farm animals to interact with, it sounds like the best place to visit for a weekend. At Lynd’s Fruit Farm, this is the site you see when you arrive at the fun and friendly farm.
Lynd’s Fruit Farm is a wonderful place to spend the day for everyone in the family. There are many events that both parents and the children can enjoy together, such as wagon rides and apple picking. As I saw for myself, children love both! One more thing that really catches a little child’s eye at Lynd’s Fruit Farm would be the bouncy house. Although any adults are restricted from going in, they still get to see the charming faces on their children as they are lit up with joy. Seeing that look is much better than bouncing, at least in my opinion!
The day I was visiting I came across a group of school children from Pataskala Elementary going on a tour around the farm. They all seemed so eager and excited to learn about the farm and explore around. Lynd’s Fruit Farm gives back to the community in not only donating part of their profits to charities but also by helping children and giving them opportunities to do fun and interesting things.
Apple picking is a personal favorite of mine. For my girlfriend and I, also other couples we met, we all agreed that it is a great way to enjoy a nice, well weathered day together. There are plenty of trees which produce shade and apples, me and my girlfriend wanted to stay there all day! The prices of the apples were not very costly either. They are $15 for a small bag and $25 for a large bag for normal apples, and $25 for...

This sounds awesome right? Lynd’s fruit farm has so much to offer for couples and families. It was all so intriguing to me and will be visiting again before the season is over. If you are interested as well the farm is open every weekend from the beginning of September till just after Halloween! The hours for U-Pick are 9AM to 6PM, and the rest of the farm stays open 9AM to 7PM weather permitting.
Going to Lynd’s Fruit Farm was a great experience for me and I definitely plan to go back as soon as I possibly can. I have never met more friendly employees, and I have never been to such a calm and relaxing yet fun environment before. They had corn mazes, apple picking, animals, wagon rides, and even human hamster balls! If you ever get the chance, I would definitely recommend visiting Lynd’s fruit farm as soon as possible.
and exciting. While you walk through the park, you can hear miles and miles of laughter, music, and screams. The intense smell of Chinese food, barbecue, French fries, and funnel cake just makes your hunger crave for it and your mouth water. From my
...rn Alabama. Almost 10,000 acres of commercial citrus was grown in Mobile and Baldwin counties by 1920. In recent years Alabama farm income from cattle exceeded that from cotton. Alabama's landscape today is dominated by woodlands, pine plantations, scattered pastureland, and small rural and suburban homesteads that stretch between major metropolitan areas. Few modern Alabamians depend totally on agricultural production for their livelihood, but as of 2005 there were 43,500 farms on 8.6 million acres that sold over $3.3 billion worth of commodities” (Mitchell, 2007). The wiregrass region is agriculturally diverse producing cotton, peanuts, poultry, cattle, some vegetables, and forestry products. Following cotton, peanuts dominated the Wiregrass during most of the twentieth century. Therefore, Alabama and the Wiregrass agriculture continues growing for you and me.
The closest farmers’ market to New Chinatown is in Echo Park, located approximately 5 minutes away via automobile, near the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Boulevard. This market takes place every Friday from 3pm to 8 pm, where on an average day would bring in about 500 customers to this market of twenty stands. On rainy days and unfavorable weather conditions, however, only six stands are present, one of which – called Sweredoski Farms - sells produce. Sweredoski Farms is an urban farm in Bell Gardens that sells fresh, seasonal, and “all-natural” produce. Interestingly, this produce is only grown a mere fifteen minutes’ drive away from where the farmers’ market takes place.

Fun Mountain also has go-karts, but in addition it offers bumper cars, a chair lift, and places to eat. Fun Mountain is a good location for families with children, and it is conveniently located at the main intersection in Gatlinburg (http://www.reaganresorts.com/funmnt.htm). Ober Gatlinburg, one of Gatlinburg’s well-known attractions, offers skiing, ice-skating, an arcade, a Velcro wall, and bungee jumping (http://www.obergatlinburg.com). “When people arrived in the morning on the 17th there was a display of horses, cattle and farm products” (Drury 807). “The first Montgomery County Agricultural Fair was held in Dayton at Swaynie’s Hotel on East First Street October 17th and 18th, 1839” (Drury 807). 1853, the state fair was held on Washington Street, the same year the county fair was held there (Drury 807) then in 1874, “the Southern Ohio Fair Association began having fairs on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds for fifteen years” (Drury 808). This set the stepping stone for many fairs in the years in counting. When individuals see the Montgomery County Fairgrounds today, it is seen as just being a place where random fairs or talent shows are held at. Not knowing its history, one could be right. Much has changed on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds; from its architecture to the people that now visit it.

“Strange Fruit” by Billie Holiday conveys the inhumane, gory lynchings of African-Americans in the American South, and how this highly unnatural act had entrenched itself into the society and culture of the South, almost as if it were an agricultural crop. Although the song did not originate from Holiday, her first performance of it in 1939 in New York City and successive recording of the song became highly popular for their emotional power (“Strange fruit,” 2017). The lyrics in the song highlight the contrast between the natural beauty and apparent sophistication of the agricultural South with the brutal violence of lynchings. Holiday communicates these rather disturbing lyrics through a peculiarly serene vocal delivery, accompanied by a hymn-like
To begin with, the Utopian Community Brook Farm, was one of the most famous experiments in the U.S. that lasted for five years. The Brook Farm Community was created to bring human relationships together. Brook Farm consisted of a schooling system and physical laboring. The idea of the farm was created for people to have individual freedom as well as having a civilized relationship with one another. According to George Ripley, the founder of Brook Farm, "The purpose of his community was, in effect, to overcome the tensions and contradictions that, up until, had plagued human beings in the world." The Community members on the farm had to work for their way. The members of the farm received a fair amount of the excellent education Brook Farm had to offer. You were not judged by your class or wealth within the community for the sake of your education; however, everyone was given education evenly. The members were allowed to retain their own private land in the community. Brook Farm did not deprive the members of their own individuality and of their privacy.
