COMPUTERS
A Computerized World
Computers play an important role in this modern society. All people around the world are forced the “computer age” nowadays. Since the first computer was made in the late 1950s, which I heard that was came from the Chinese Abacus, the technology has developed extremely. Computers are everywhere and control a great deal of our living environment. More and more areas are being taken over by the computer. Not able to use a computer is a serious handicap with ramifications in all areas of life. Therefore, if people do not know computers or do not know how to use them it means that they are not prepared for the future. They will fall behind our advancing society. Computers have been applied to industry, agriculture, political affairs, economy, military, science and many other fields; it is becoming more and more important. It is reason why I feel; I need to know more about computers such as why computer is useful, history of computer, and Internet.
COMPUTERS ARE USEFUL IN OUR LIFE
Nowadays, no matter what the professions, a mainstay of the companies prefers to hire employees who basically need to know how to operate computers. “Knowledge of computers” has become a basic requirement in job descriptions. As computers are capable of handling large amounts of data in a very short time, they are well suited for word processing. For instance, medical officers use computer to record patients’ data for finding them easier and more conveniently. Banks also use computers to store information for consumers to know their account conveniently and orderly, etc. The government agencies are the one who use computers most because they need to record confidential data, for instance, the military, and the U.S Census Bureau, etc. The business also use computer password system in the companies that to avoid other companies’ stealing their business secrets. Therefore, the secret data will not let out to other countries or companies. Since a small diskette can contain much more data than a written page, and it takes less place, I think it will not be too long all the paper-archives are replaced by magnetic tapes and diskettes. It is possible to get the American telephone book on just one diskette.
HISTORY OF COMPUTERS
About two hundred years before, the word “computer” started to appear in the dictionary. Some people even did not know what is a computer. However, most of the people today not just knowing what is a computer, but understand how to use a computer.
Slessor is one of Australia’s most famous modern poets, and is well remembered as the driving force behind modernist poetry techniques in Australia. He was employed as a war correspondent throughout the
What does having an education means to you? Did you know that recently The United States Children Fund (UNICEF) portal has stated that education transforms peoples’ lives and bust the cycle of poverty? Also have you ever thought about how the human kind desires a decent life with great privileges, such as education and no one argues about that?
Education is the source of all power allowing people to achieve any dream they choose. A person without a true education is nothing more than an empty shell living an empty and pointless life. The process of education begins at conception and the human mind continues to learn until the time of their death but most lessons are learned in the first five years of life. When the topic of education is discussed it isn’t how much is needed but how best to provide the education. The need for high quality education is typically agreed upon; how best to provide that education is not as easily as settled. The line in the sand has been drawn with neither side willing to back down and possible casualties are the children.
Education is a form of learning that is necessary for the development of one’s personality, identity, physical and intellectual capabilities. Education also provides to the growth of a person through the enhancement of social and professional integration. Education can improve a person’s quality of life. Underprivileged adults and children have a chance to escape poverty. “It is a tool for the economic, social and cultural development of all population around the world. Education is a human right and should be accessible to everyone without discrimination. All children should be awarded the same opportunities to be able to build a future for themselves. Therefore they must and should be able to go to school. Each child have the right to benefit from a quality education that fits their needs.”(Humanium 2016).
Computers are a magnificent feat of technology. They have grown from simple calculators to machines with many functions and abilities. Computers have become so common that almost every home has at least one computer, and schools find them a good source for information and education for their students (Hafner, Katie, unknown). Computers have created new careers and eliminated others and have left a huge impact on our society. The invention of the computer has greatly affected the arts, the business world, and society and history in many different areas, but to understand how great these changes are, it is necessary to take a look at the origins of the computer.
If nineteenth century was an era of the Industrial revolution in Europe, I would say that computer and Information Technology have domineered since the twentieth century. The world today is a void without computers, be it healthcare, commerce or any other field, the industry won’t thrive without Information Technology and Computer Science. This ever-growing field of technology has aroused interest in me since my childhood.
According to businessinsider McDonalds spends 963 million on Advertisements. That’s a lot of money on Advertisements alone plus cost of other necessities. The target market for McDonalds is simple, the target market is everyone. That’s a key part of their success, no one has a reason not to go. Cheap food on the go is for everyone at anytime, therefor who wouldn’t go there? McDonalds targets kids, adults, morning workers and late night partyers. "McDonald 's aims to offer a friendly, fun environment for everyone to enjoy. We seek to appeal to a wide range of people, from families who love our Happy Meal, to workers grabbing breakfast on-the-go or eating in to enjoy our freshly ground coffee and free WiFi."(Who) McDonalds can now appeal to all audiences and get a better chance of getting customers to come
McDonalds is a strong company that has been around a long time and is ingrained into the memories of many people. They have indisputably strong brand recognition and loyalty. However, it may be time for McDonalds to undergo a makeover, especially in the areas of quality and their link to health concerns. It is pretty clear that McDonalds isn’t going bankrupt anytime soon. McDonalds has the ability to do good things for the world if they exchange some of their money saving ways more socially responsible practices.
McDonalds provide high quality products, such as burgers, fries, drinks, muffins, etc, which are safe and reliable that it does what it is supposed to do, but not only does the quality of the products matter, the good value for money affects the business. E.g. buy one extra value meal and get one free with a food voucher that represents the offer only. They ensure that a high standard of the product is carried out at all times and they try to compete very competitively with other fast food businesses with their good value for money. Also a customer would know if the product is good value for money by checking in another food outlet like KFC for their services and products.
Factory farming is raising livestock in a small, confined area on a large scale for the purpose of supplying food for human consumption. It is argued that factory farming is extremely cruel for the animals involved and that there are better ways for food to be produced. The food produced by factory farms may be cheaper, but the chances are it is also of lower quality. The animals inside these factories are not fed on a particularly healthy diet. Factory farming may lead to the production of cheaper meat produced, but this could be bad for society when the health consequences can result fatal. Factory farming should be banned worldwide because not only is it cruel toward innocent animals, it also results in economic problems and major health concerns.
Though many believe that education is a privilege, education should be a right because all humans deserve to have an opportunity to better themselves in life. It should also be accessible to everyone in various forms such as regular public schooling, online schooling, or homeschooling so that the people can have easier access to education in order to learn and to develop themselves and their abilities. It is a right that everyone regardless of race, gender, and religion should have because everyone deserves to be treated equally. In allowing everyone access to free education, society can allow for better-educated people who are able to use their reasoning and ideas to create a better world in which to dwell. Therefore, education is a basic human right that should be available and accessible to everyone because education is a pathway to a better future and a sense of hope for a secure life.
aspect of our lives, we are faced with computers. They are in our classrooms, cars, and even used
Food is taken for granted by many people in places like the Western World, especially in countries like the United States. There is no fear that the next meal will be an empty plate, nor is there reason to fear that the supply of food will disappear. The reason that there is no need to ration out supplies is that the food industry mass produces food to feed their ever growing population in factory farms. However, the public is kept generally unaware of what occurs inside these farms, which calls into question the integrity of the food production. While there is an acceptance of these farms due to the convenience they provide to the consumer, there are many negative consequences related to these slaughterhouses. The mass production of food from factory farming does not justify the negative affects and threat to the environment, to the health and security of animals, nor the violation of workers’ rights.
The computer evolution has been an amazing one. There have been astonishing achievements in the computer industry, which dates back almost 2000 years. The earliest existence of the computer dates back to the first century, but the electronic computer has only been around for over a half-century. Throughout the last 40 years computers have changed drastically. They have greatly impacted the American lifestyle. A computer can be found in nearly every business and one out of every two households (Hall, 156). Our Society relies critically on computers for almost all of their daily operations and processes. Only once in a lifetime will a new invention like the computer come about.
Computers are forever present in the workplace. Word processors-computer software packages that simplify the creational and modification of documents-have largely replaced the typewriter. Electronic mail has made it easy to send messages worldwide via computer communication networks. Office automation has become the term for linking workstations, printers, database system, and other tools by means of a local-area network. An eventual goal of office automation has been termed the 'paperless office.' Although such changes ultimately make office work much more efficient, they have not been without cost in terms of purchasing and frequently upgrading the necessary hardware and software and of training workers to use the new technology.
