Everyone loves to be in the sun. It is one of the many advantages of Earth. The sun releases a positive vibe to everyone. Without the sun, people experience the dark and gloomy in the world. Songs and stories such as “Sun Comes Up” by Rudimental, and “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury both convey to the reader that the sun has a heavy effect to the characters.

Before the sun was introduced in both texts, the author and writer use description in the characters life to show human nature. In the short story, Bradbury shows how the children that had lived on Mars interact differently than the people on earth due to natural surroundings. For instance, in “All Summer in a Day” it states, “ A thousand forests had been crushed under the rain and grown up a thousand times to be crushed again. And this was the way life was forever of the planet Venus, and this was the schoolroom of the children of the rocket men and women who had come to a raining world to set up a civilization and live out their lives.” In this passage, …show more content…

For example in “All Summer in a Day”, the children went around bullying Margot because they all wanted to see the sun just like her. They all were negative as a result of longing for the sun. After they saw the sun, they all felt guilty for everything they did wrong to Margot since she was right the whole time. Similarly, in the song “Sun Comes Up” displays a man being locked in chains and held back on the dark side of the world. He was restrained from enjoying life and felt locked away and separated from others. He wanted to experience something that would change his life for the better. As soon as the sun has shown itself, he broke free, happy and free. If you have never experienced the sun, and felt locked away and chained, would you appreciate and love the sun as soon as it appears?
