A horrific murder happened in tiny Skidmore on December of 2004. Lisa Montgomery and Bobbi Jo Stinnett met and found out that they had much in common and became good friends (Nunes 85-86). Surprisingly, Bobbi and Lisa met in an internet chat room. Bobbi was into puppy breeding and she occasionally served as a judge. Alameda has had a hard life as a young girl growing up, both of her parents were alcoholics. Alameda was a 16 year old minor who had a baby and dropped out of school, and then was unable to care for the infant. A case manager by the name of Barbara LaRosa was assigned to Alameda case. Barbara took on Alameda as her client and made a visit to her parents’ home, while making the visit she found Alameda dad incompetent, and could not get any information from him to help with his daughter well-being.
DSS received a report of physical abuse, physical neglect and substantial risk of physical abuse on March 3, 2017 alleging there is chaos in the home. After returning with his brothers from their cousin’s house, the boys had to go to bed. The reporter stated that Xzavia banged on his mother’s bedroom door on three separate occasions wanting something to eat. The first time he was told to go back to bed and a popping noise was heard. The second time Ms. Kimberly Dawkins grabbed Xzavia by the head, shook him little and told him to go back to bed. The third time Ms. Dawkins grabbed Xzavia, threw him on the bed, got a gun, held him down and pointed it at him. Reporter states there was no clip in the gun. Ms. Dawkins was reported being upset and it was reported that she left the home for twenty minutes but came back. It was reported that while Ms. Dawkins was gone, Xzavia was very upset and he was crying and Tyzhaun stared punching holes in the wall. It was reported that Xzavia says he wanted to die and that Atmorris went and got a knife, stated to Xzavia, “You want to die?”, here’s the knife and the two older brothers, Tyzhaun and Atmorris left the house and Xzavia chased them. It was reported that Xzavia was outside crying and he spent the night with the neighbor.
Lying is a natural human defense that we use for various things. Everyone lies. In The Crucible we get to see exactly what could happen if lies spiral out of control to the point where crying witch is believed at every turn. In the article “Ways We Lie” by Stephanie Ericsson, she discusses the different types of lying and when they are typically used. Some of these include Facade, White Lies, and Groupthink. These three types of lying are directly relevant and present in The Crucible. The plot is driven by lies, and as they pile on top of eachother is becomes harder and harder to uncover the truth.

When Deborah was only sixteen she became pregnant with her first child by Cheetah and boy she liked when she was younger. Cheetah and Deborah got married and then had their second child. Deborah became very unhappy in the marriage because Cheetah started drinking and doing drugs. He started abusing Deborah. Cheetah pushed Deborah so much she almost killed him if it wasn’t for Bobbette. Deborah’s brothers Sonny and Lawrence were doing well except for Joe. Joe was another case. Joe went to the military, and the family was hoping that would do him good; but he came out worse than when he went in. Joe was threatened and beaten up by a boy named Ivy. Joe was in so much rage he went and stabbed him and killed him. Joe eventually turned himself in to the law, was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced fifteen years in prison.
They were enjoying a New Year’s Eve party when she and her husband received a call from a house they are watching while the owners were away. The owners f the house son also through a New Years Eve party and her husband and a friend went to go check on him. While they were there the husband died from multiple kicks to the head which was stated in the autopsy. No information was given that night from the people who attended that party which made it difficult for police to prosecute. Five years later a young man named Ryan Aldridge was arrested for the murder of Katy's husband. When she found out she wanted answers as to why and what happened in his life for him to make the life decision for both of them. She didn’t want revenge but wanted to hug him when they first met. She worried about him while he was in jail and taught herself about the justice system regarding his case. Ryan served here three out of five years in jail and that prices Katys visited him and did a process called victim-offender mediation this took an entire day. During this time, they both found humanity and the both began to understand each other and realized they had things in common. They worked together after he got out of jail sharing each other’s story. She states the fact that Ryan is in capable of inflicting harm is what she wanted. Depending on what study is read, the incidence of false confession is less than 35 per year, up to 600 per year. That is a significant variance in range, but no matter how it is evaluated or what numbers are calculated, the fact remains that false confessions are a reality. Why would an innocent person confess to a crime that she did not commit? Are personal factors, such as age, education, and mental state, the primary reason for a suspect to confess? Are law enforcement officers and their interrogation techniques to blame for eliciting false confessions? Regardless of the stimuli that lead to false confessions, society and the justice system need to find a solution to prevent the subsequent aftermath.
The family lives in a public housing subsidy tenement and received public assistance from the State. Demonta is currently placed at Westhaven Crisis Center. He has been there since August 23, 2017. Demonta's mother has no reported alcohol/drug problems. However, she is a single parent raising five kids on her own. Demonta consistently disobeys his guardian, but has no history of running away from the home. Demonta is sometimes subject to appropriate consequences for bad behavior and sometimes receives appropriate rewards for good behavior. His guardian frequently demonstrates inadequate supervision. Nevertheless, his guardian clearly disapproves of his behavior. Demonta's home features verbal intimidation, yelling and heated arguments and some conflict, but it is well managed. The sympathy of the government for mothers such as Khaila, trying to recover their parental rights has worn thin. Child abandonment is a serious offense and the children that suffer from such neglect face many psychological problems; if they are ever able to survive their circumstances. The abandonment and neglect of a child can result in serious criminal charges. One striking example is the case of seven month old Daniel Scott (Should We Take Away Their Kids?). Baby Daniel had been left for hours unattended and died of in a pool of his own blood. His mother, a crack addict left him in the care of his father to go on a six day crack binge. His father in turn, left him in his crib leaving the door of their Bronx tenement unlocked for any danger to afflict his unprotected son (Should We Take Away Their Kids?). The parents were later charged with manslaughter by negligence.
Over this past summer I have had the pleasure of reading the novel We Were Liars, written by E. Lockhart; a very well written young-adult novel which entails the adventures and difficulties faced by the main character, Cadence Sinclair Eastman, and her three cousins during their visits on their family’s private island off the coast of Massachusetts. The book commences giving us background information about Cadence and her family. The Sinclairs, her mother’s side of the family, is a wealthy upper-class caucasian family; within the family is Harris Sinclair and his wife Tipper, as well as their three daughters Carrie, Bess, and Penny. Every summer Harris and Tipper along with their daughters and their families would travel to the family's private island, Beechwood Island, where Harris had built homes
What are lies? A lie is defined as follows: To make a statement that one knows to be false, especially with the intent to deceive. There are several ways that lies are told for instance, there are white lies, lies of omission, bold faced lies, and lies of exaggeration. No matter what type of lie that one chooses to tell many people believe that lies do more harm than good.

Everyone has their own point of view, due to perspective. For instance, people are allowed to make conclusions or think differently on topics due to their knowledge of the topic. A person's knowledge has a great bearing on conflicts that arise, because some people might have more information than others. H.H. Munro deals very well with the idea of perception and deception. Munro deals with the idea that one person's perspective can be completely different due to the circumstances presented to them.
