Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, a part of
current-day Austria. He was baptized the following day as Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus
Theophilus Mozart in Rupert’s Cathedral. His family consisted of his parents, Leopold and Anna
Marie Pertl Mozart, and his older sister, Maria Anna, who was nicknamed “Nannerl.” Mozart
was the youngest of seven children, but only Nannerl and he survived. The other five siblings
died in infancy. Mozart’s father was a violinist, composer, and music instructor. Both Leopold
and Mozart’s mother stressed the importance of music and education in their children’s lives.
Mozart never received a formal education. His father was his teacher and taught him geography,
history, languages, math, financial matters, social behavior as well as music (Life and Works of
a Musical Genius 3). “Leopold was a devoted and task-oriented teacher to both his children. He
made the lessons fun, but also insisted on a strong work ethic and perfection” (Wolfgang Mozart
Leopold introduced Nannerl to the keyboard when she was 7-years-old. Mozart watched
and mimicked his sister during her lessons. His ability to excel in music became apparent to his
father at an early age. By the age of three, Mozart could play the clavinet and recognize chords.
At four, he was able to play minuets which be mastered. By five-years-old, he was composing
small pieces of music by himself. In 1762, Leopold took Nannerl and Mozart, ages 11 and 6
respectively, to Munich where they performed at the Court of Bavaria for Maximilian III and the

Imperial Court in Vienna and Prague. They also traveled to the courts of Paris, London, Zurich,

of subtlety rarely found in any classical composer” (W.A. Mozart 6).
Although Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart only lived to the age of 35, his effect on music will
never be forgotten. His ability to recognize chords and play an instrument at 3-years-old, play
minuets at 4, compose music at 5, perform publicly at 6, write Gregorio Allegri’s Miserere from
memory with only a few errors after only hearing it once, and his ability to compose
masterpieces on scraps of paper during a train ride illustrate his musical genius. In addition,
Mozart influenced on other great musicians and composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven,
Frederic Chopin, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovshy. There is no doubt Mozart was a musical genius.
One can only imagine what he would have accomplished, if he had lived another 10 or 15 years.

As a boy Johannes worked and studied with his father and learnt lessons from books with his mother, with whom he would play ?four-hands? at the piano, ?just for fun.? There were never any doubts as to his becoming a musician. From early childhood he learn everything his father could teach him, read everything he could lay hands on, practiced with undeviating enthusiasm, and filled reams of paper with exercises and variations. The soul of the child went out in music. He played scales long before he knew the notes, and great was his joy when at the age of six he discovered the possibility of making a melody visible by placing black dots on lines at different intervals, inventing a system of notation of his own before he had been made acquainted with the method which the musical world had been using for some centuries.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, also known as W.A. Mozart, was a very well-known composer of the Classical Period as well as still to this day. Wolfgang Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He was known for his sonatas, symphonies, masses, chamber music, concertos, and operas. “Leopold Mozart, a court musician, began teaching Maria Anna, his first-born child, to play harpsichord when she was 8 years old. She progressed quickly, with 3-year-old Wolfgang often at her side.” Maria Anna was getting very good very quickly, with the help from her brother Wolferl. Both siblings helped eachother out , “Nannerl probably interpreted for Wolfgang and reinforced for Wolfgang what Leopold was trying to teach. She showed him that music is not only fun, but a way to communicate without words.” He learned from his sister the true meaning behind music, which made him grow as a performer. Support from family or friends is what separates a person from achieving their goals, or stumbling under the pressure, but both Maria Anna and Wolferl persevered with the help of each other and there dad and both achieved great
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven are very famous past composers that have created many pieces that have influenced not just people of their time, but people in modern times as well.
Beethoven’s early life was one out of a sad story book. For being one of the most well-known musicians one would think that sometime during Beethovens childhood he was influenced and inspired to play music; This was not the case. His father was indeed a musician but he was more interested in drinking than he was playing music. When his father saw the smallest sliver of music interest in Beethoven he immediately put him into vigorous musical training in hopes he would be the next Mozart; his training included organ, viola, and piano. This tainted how young Beethoven saw music and the memories that music brought. Nevertheless Beethoven continued to do what he knew and by thirteen he was composing his own music and assisting his teacher, Christian Neefe. Connections began to form during this time with different aristocrats and families who stuck with him and became lifelong friends. At 17 Beethoven, with the help of his friends, traveled to Vienna, the music capitol of the world, to further his knowledge and connection...
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was one of the most prolific and important musical innovators we have ever seen. His style of music helped re-shape music and the Classical period. Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria in 1756. Mozart was a child prodigy, claiming most success as a youth. At the age of six, Mozart could play the harpsichord and violin, improvise fugues, write minuets, and read music perfectly. At the age of eight, he wrote a symphony and at eleven, an oratorio. Then amazingly, at the age of twelve he wrote an opera. Mozart's father was Leopold Mozart, a court musician. Both Mozart and Beethoven had help from their fathers in different ways. Mozart's father helped him travel around as a young musician and with this he traveled many places and seen many well-known people and aristocrats. With Mozart's early successes came many challenges to his life. He had greater expectations from the community and from his father. Unlike, Beethoven, Mozart was a bit spoiled as a youth and because of this he would not tolerate to be treated as a servant. He completely relied on his father to help him and would not work with the archbishop. This would become a problem when Mozart did not develop enough initiative and could not make decisions on his ow...

So when the six-year-old Wolfgang had proved his extraordinary talents at the keyboard, Leopold was keen to exhibit those talents along with those of his gifted pianist daughter, Nannerl. Thus Leopold undertook a four month tour of Vienna and the surrounding area, visiting every noble house and palace he could find, taking the entire family with him. Mozart's first known public appearance was at Salzburg University in September of 1761, when he took part in a theatrical performance with music by Eberlin. Like other parents of his time, Leopold Mozart saw nothi...
A disastrous episode with an unruly pupil was the last straw and Schubert, at age nineteen, left teaching and his home to pursue what he loved, composing. He moved into the family apartment of his friend Franz von Schober.... ... middle of paper ... ... Schubert's instrumental works show development over a long period of time, but some of his greatest songs were composed before he was 20 years old.
As a child, Beethoven never was too interested in music even though he had the talents. Both his father and grandfather were experienced musicians and wanted him to be one also. At the age of four, Beethoven’s father began to teach him the violin and piano, but wasn’t successful in doing so because of his addiction to alcohol. His training was soon taken
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is often referred to as the greatest musical genius of all time in Western musical tradition. His creative method was extraordinary: his writings show that he almost always wrote a complete composition mentally before finally writing it on paper. Mozart created 600 works in his short life of 35 years. His works included 16 operas, 41 symphonies, 27 piano concerti, and 5 violin concerti, 25 string quartets, and 19 masses.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was undoubtedly one of the greatest composers of not only the classical era, but of all time. On January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria, Mozart was born into an already musically talented family. His father Leopold, a composer and musician, and sister Nannerl toured parts of Europe giving many successful performances, including some before royalty. At the young age of 17, Mozart was appointed Konzertmeister at the Salzburg Court. It was there that young Mozart composed two successful operas: “Mitridate” and “Lucio Silla”. In 1981 he was dismissed from his position at the Salzburg Court. He went on to compose over 600 works including 27 piano Concertos, 18 Masses (including his most famous, the Requiem), and 17 piano sonatas. Mozart was not often known for having radical form or harmonic innovation but rather, most of his music had a natural flow, repetition and simple harmonic structure.
He was influenced by the two greats, Johann Sebastian Bach, and of course, Handel. Moreover, he along with his friend, Joseph Haydn greatly influenced Ludwig Von Beethoven. Mozart was born in Austria and was a child prodigy. At the age of four, he already began creating compositions, and at the age of nine, he wrote his first symphony (Coffin 622). Mozart’s father would take him on trips through Italy and other countries to perform for the courts of Europe. But once he was no longer a child prodigy, he was employed by the court of Salzburg (Solomon 106). Time passed until he was unsatisfied with his low salary and the restriction to compose many operas. Mozart moved out and sought to do what he truly wanted to
