Today we live in a world where we have a mindset of being able to get what we want. If we want the newest smartphone we are able to go and buy it. We live in a world where we want more and more for our own connivance and tend to forget that this place is not just ours to take and claim to ourselves. Over the years our world we call home is being destroyed by us humans. We forget that although we are not in this world forever the impact that we leave will stay for the years that are to come. Since elementary school I could remember talking about recycling and solar power panels but I never really understood why it was so important. I remember learning how it is important to recycle and not liter to keep the world clean. When I was little I just thought that recycling was only important on that specific day. In school they taught it how to separate paper, plastic, and aluminum form all the other waste so it could be reused in the future. School was really the only place where I was really environmental friendly. Back home growing up we did not have a recycling bin. We just threw everything together in one garbage bin. As far as I could remember the only thing that we really separated where the soda cans because my grandfather would trade them in for some money. It was not until middle school did I really start to understand what was going on with the world. Being year at Saint Joseph’s has really helped me understand and acknowledge the importance the whole situation and helping me change my lifestyle to become a greener person. Last semester I took a course that was called Sustainable Community, in the class we learned about different techniq6ues we as humans can take part in to try and make this world more sustainable and greener as a whole. I learned about so many things that can be changed and have a huge impact in the world. Being in college has made me become a greener person. I can say that I am greener than I was before. Today my lifestyle is not the best it can be but it sure has come a long way. Today I make sure that I recycle everything that can be reused or recycled. When I go to the café I make sure to compose the food that can go back into the earth and recycle or throw away the rest. I also walk to my classes and I car pool with my friend to work. I not only car pool here at the school but also back home. I work with my brother and cousin so we all go to work in one car. Back home we recycle and we limit our shower time and have a garden in our front yard. Although these are not all very big things I still like to think that I am doing my part in trying to help the environment, Yes I would like to be able to do more in helping save the environment but I like

Everyone is made in a test tube and placed in different caste: Alpha, Beta, Gama, Delta, or Epsilon.
