It was a stunning, and amazing September 11th in the dazzling city in Manhattan. I just woke up remembering my sister, Mia, who got lost during the dreadful time of 9’11. Today has indicated 2 years since she has been lost. We don’t know if she’s or if she’s dead. I went to change clothes and came downstairs. My mom was outside running some errands and my dad was sitting down with a newspaper in his hands. “ Chantel it has been two years since your sister has been lost since 9’11.” “ I know. I still miss her very much” As I was feasting on my cereal , the phone started ringing. I quickly ran to the phone. The caller was an anonymous user. I picked up the phone and said “Hello?” The caller responded “ I have one of your loved ones you cared
so much. Come and find her before it’s too late.” The caller hangs up. I slowly put the phone back wondering to myself “Who does that guy have?” “ Who was it?” asked my Father. “ It was some anonymous caller who told me and I quote ‘ I have one of your loved ones you cared so much. Come and find her before it’s too late’. Do you think that person took Mia, dad?” “ Probably not, he’s seemingly got the wrong number. Don’t worry about” “Ok, bye dad. See you later.” “Later sweetie. Have a great day at school”
In the Article From Terror to Hope it talks about a little girl involved with the event of 9/11 and her recovery from it. A little girl named Helaina has been involved in the tragedy of 9/11. After seeing the terrible things that happened, the twin towers being destroyed, she has developed post-traumatic stress disorder. She had nightmares about that terrible day. After hard work and treatment, she is doing well. Now she is 27 and a successful journalist. Even though what she went through was really tragic, there was still hope for her.
"The anniversary of 9/11 is this Sunday and it's been 9 years scene her partner died."said mother.
The attacks that occurred on 9/11 took place on September 11th, 2001. In this devastating event, four different attacks had taken place. Each of the attacks were carried out by terrorists. The group responsible for the attack was Al-Qaeda, a militant Islamist organization that is known to be global in present day. The group itself has a network consisting of a Sunni Muslim movement that aims to make global Jihad happen. Furthermore, a stateless, multinational army that is ready to move at any given time. This terrorist group focuses on attacking non-Sunni Muslims, those who are not Muslim, and individuals who the group deems to be kafir. Ever since the late 1980s, Al-Qaeda has been wreaking havoc all around the world. The leader of the group once being Osama bin Laden. Three planes were bound for New York City while another plane headed towards Washington, D.C. which was supposed to take out the U.S. Capitol. Two of the airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center. One plane hitting the North Tower and the other hitting the South Tower. The third plane had crashed into the Pentagon taking out the western side of the building. The last and final plane was focused solely on taking out the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. but failed due to passengers of the plane coming hijacking it from the hijackers. The passengers attempted to take out the hijackers but sadly failed, crashing it into a field in Pennsylvania. Throughout the content of this paper, we will be focusing on the role of media when it comes to 9/11; more specifically: how the media's coverage of 9/11 manipulated our feelings towards 9/11, how it affected Islamophobia in America, and the lasting effects of 9/11.
In order to adequately depict my feelings, I must start at the beginning. In the fall of 1996, I embarked on my maiden NYC voyage. Armed with a camera, city guide, and my little sister, I headed for New York to discover myself. As I began this adventure, I had no idea how it would end. When I landed at JFK I was a little girl, trying to have some fun, but by the time I boarded the plane to head home my world had changed.
September 11 is not just about mourning, it's about the community giving back hope. It is about police forces and firefighters in N.Y , the servicemen and females in the Pentagon, including the many passengers in the flights. September 11 was a day of disgrace, but it was also a day of bravery, and of integrity.
I was visiting my friend Olivia. She worked in the Aon company in the south tower. She went to work about 10 minutes after I got there. So I decided to take a tour around the city. On my way back home around 8:40 I heard a loud noise. Around 8:45 the noise was so loud I thought it was a bomb. I turned around quickly and saw that there was a plane in the north tower, smoke filled the air. I ran as fast as I could to the South tower to see if Olivia was okay. I was worried, I couldn’t find her anywhere! As I got back down to the first floor I heard another loud noise as I got outside I saw another plane had crashed but this time it was in the South tower. I fell on my knees in sadness I didn’t even have to turn halfway around to see that people were suffering I didn’t want to see. I could hear the sirens of ambulances, police cars, and fire engines. People were screaming everywhere. As I stood up I turned around slowly I could see many people crying around me for their loved ones that they know didn’t make it through all of this. I ran to every ambulance looking for Olivia but I couldn't find her anywhere. I went looking for her all day long, but I didn't see any sign of her. I went to almost every hospital looking and again there was no sign of her. I had been looking for her all day and there wasn't anywhere I could find her.
Across America’s history there have been dozens of terror attacks. All of them hit a deep blow in every citizen’s heart. And with all of them our current President gives a speech about what has happened and how we are all together as one nation; unconquerable united. While discussing events like the one in this essay have a tendency to bring back horrific memories for some and an extreme sadness for all, it is also has a tendency to bring back memories of the brave men and women who have helped this nation in times of struggle. Through talking and communicating through times of grief, you are able to transform grief into a common national message of hope and unity; even through troubled times.
I got here by exploring all the different religions mentioned in the book and how everyone conforming and trying to fit in by taking a step back from her religion affected the main character(Nadia). Post 9/11, she grew up in a household where she had no opinion of her own because of what she was taught and never learns about other religions and their beliefs, while she is living in a society influenced by western culture. Her westernized peers pressure her into doing more research on her religion; she begins to question the purity and righteousness of her religion. She has to choose between her religion and her dream which is to become a doctor. She chooses her religion; she realizes that she will go to all costs to protect the laws set down
On September 11, 2001, a terrible disaster struck the United States. Two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, New York. The only time US soil had been attacked since the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The attacks occurred not only at the World Trade Center’s twin towers, but also at the Pentagon and what would have been the White House. The attack on September 11th was one of the most devastating events this country has ever experienced.
I read about it in the paper, in the subway, on my way to work. It was on a Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Both of the Twin Towers in New York had been struck down by two airplanes with passengers inside. Civilians, including me, were filled with panic and suspicion as they wondered if their country was under a terrorist attack. Everyone else in the subway was no stranger to the crisis going on this exact second since they all had their heads buried in their newspaper. I reread every line on the article carefully, trying to make sure that none of this was a hoax in anyway.
In contrast to the silence that 9/11/03’s letter convey, the letter, “Why I’m Not Where You Are 4/12/78” bleeds with Grandfather’s
The topic which I want to introduce is about the Family life. I am interested in this topic because of the book We All Fall Down which is written by Eric Walters, is based on the true event which happened on September 11, 2001. I think the author chose a very good topic, the 11/09/2001 terrorists attack. Which made this book very interesting and exciting. The author starts his book with a thoughtful note “For those who perished, and those who went on” I found this quote very touching because it’s summarizes the event which happened during the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. It seems for me that Eric Walters actually was there, and had written a story on the trues event. We All Fall down is a book about Will and his father trying
Everyone knows where they were when they first found out. Every TV in America tuned in to see the plane crash into the tower in a fiery explosion. As the Twin Towers fell, fear rose in the hearts of millions of Americans. Emotions running high, they lashed out at the first target that came to mind. Unfortunately, they chose the religion of the terrorists and not the group.
In March of 1998, my father was rushed to the hospital because of a heart attack. I remember getting home from basketball practice without my mother home. Instead, my sister was there with her children. The fact that my sister was there was familiar to me, but something did not seem right. My sister stayed with me and did not tell me what happened. Later that night, after my sister left, the news that followed would prepare me to encounter the most defining moment of my life.
The house phone started to ring. “We have a house phone?” I questioned myself rubbing my eyes giving off a weary sigh. When did I fall asleep? I headed downstairs and it stopped. Again it rang and I guessed it was on the bottom shelf hence lack of usage. Pulling off the dusty cloth I grasped the telephone and answered.
