Dear 8th Grade Student, I have learned in my 8th grade experience that working hard is key to passing classes. Not only do you have to work hard, but you have to work smart. You need to be able to complete your work on time and correctly. If you can do this in 8th grade, then you should have a blast. One thing that helped me pass classes (especially math), was GROWLS. Probably 3 out of the 6 days in a cycle I would be in my math teacher's room working on problems. I suggest getting your work done so that you can have more fun and do better in your classes. In 8th grade, you might struggle with the math teaching style. The teachers will give you a packet and a video to watch for homework, then you will practice in the next class. My advice
for getting through this style is to watch and rewatch the videos as much as you see needed. I think that you will enjoy science. You get to learn about a lot of cool things that are in the world around you. Just make sure that you take notes. I feel that the best way to succeed socially, is to make friends early on in the year. If you do this, then you can get to know them better and share jokes. And on the weekends, you can hang out with each other. The best way to be emotionally successful is to not get too stressed out. I failed this, I got way too stressed out over math tests when they weren't even that bad. Lastly, to succeed personally, I recommend setting goals. Make your goals achievable so that you are happy with yourself once you meet them. If you ever need help with math, Ms. Mayberry. She is fun and very educated in what she does. There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs. Sincerely, Mrs. Stout's 8th Grade Student
As many people have told me before, it is a very different ballgame than middle school’s easy going years. There is much more work, the classes are harder, and the environment is completely different. Many people’s grades may slip and they may cower in fear at the barrage of assignments they receive class after class. Unlike other people, I am confident in my ability to excel at all classes and to sustain exemplary grades. Therefore, while many are trembling in fear at the prodigious assignments and work is bombarding them from all angles, I will be at ease, knowing that whatever obstacle is thrown my way, I will conquer it and be its own
Using your time wisely is important in many ways to use your time wisely by paying action and be quiet and watch the teachers, keep your hands to yourself, stay in your seat and have your work in front of you. Don't get side tracked and you'll miss an answer or question then you'll start horse play because you didn't pay attention and gave up, but when you get in trouble you'll get and an attitude towards the teacher and you'll get in more
Dear Future 8th grader, I know how you feel you are excited to start the year off with a boom and that's a good thing later on the year your going to get less and less excited about 8th grade but just remember what started the spark at the beginning of the year and what causes that boom to happen. As you progress along this year you should just become more excited and never get bored of class or your work because think of all the fun and cool things your going to achieve just by doing your work.
While we might think we are concluding the school year, we are really- much more importantly- setting students, and ourselves, up for what comes next.” -Larry Ferlazzo, In the education week. This eighth grade year will be packed with fun and difficult activities, one of them being a role model for my buddy. I also must be sure I have good time management with my homework, and of course, I must make make the big decision of where I will attend high school. This eighth grade year will set my future and prepare me for
Many high schools believe that their hardest year will be their senior year. Sometimes this is not true, in fact some believe that their hardest year will be their junior year since that is the year of the major tests such as the American College Test. Anyway, those that do believe that the senior year of high school is the hardest, say that their hardest class that they attend is their language arts class, also known as English. The four year of English is thought to be really hard, and that is somewhat true for the seniors of Worland High. At Worland High School, we have Doctor Tim McGee as our senior English teacher. Many in Worland believe that the hardest class to pass is the senior English and this has very little truth to it, but it is not one of the easiest of classes at the high school level. There are three major reason for the class being a difficult class and that is the work of the class, the scoring system, and the subject.
Ask yourself, how was your 8th grade year… Was it good, bad, fun, or stressful? Well most of my 8th grade year was bad but the ending actually turned out good. The start of my year was exciting, but that was just the beginning. As time went on and the work started to come in, that's when things turned south for me. I started stressing about everything I had to do, I was getting to overwhelmed. I would catch myself slipping constantly and it was worrying me because I didn't want to get held back a year. I slowly started to lose all interest in all of my work.
Imagine if East Jordan high school offered several elective and AP classes to students. Imagine how it could benefit the students of East Jordan Public schools. It would offer much more to students. East Jordan high school use to have many elective classes like: Forensics, Environmental sciences, Creative writing, honors biology, and advance writing, but now the high school does not offer enough elective and AP classes. East Jordan high school must add more classes because they help with schedules, college, and preparedness.
Another class that i'm doing well in is learning lab. This is the class that I feel most confident in passing because it's the easiest to do my work in.In learning lab, I am able to concentrate better in because the teacher doesn't let the students waste time. This class is somewhat important because we do a lot of math work in learning lab and math is a class that I need to pass, considering that math is getting more difficult for
Now that we are in 8th grade doing 9th-grade work, that routine will not work. This is because if we follow a 7th-grade routine, we will have our life messed up and broken, which no one wants. Instead, we need to make a new routine, one that differs from 7th grade and helps us out in not just one aspect of 8th grade but much more. For example, we can’t have a routine which only helps us out with homework, but a routine that helps us out with homework, studying, classwork, and other aspects of 8th grade.
“Are brass, lead, iron, and aluminum more likely to corrode in solutions of rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide?”
It worked for me to an extinct like I had to basically form an alliance or network of people who were in my classes to get myself to stay focused and sometimes help them stay focused. I used to think i needed a small pill in order to get through a tough test or stay up all night cramming all the information I need for the test the next day. But I learned if instead of cramming i studied at the library for an hour a day I would do a lot better than cramming. Although we have spended a handful of nights staying up till studying and going over our study guides. In my opinion the skills we learned in this course are skills we will know and use for years to
Sixth grade was… well, very interesting. I didn’t know what to expect coming into the year. I had heard some rumors about Mrs. Smith and I was a little nervous. I knew that I had Nick Smith in most of my classes and he had been my friend since we were four years old so I wasn’t really nervous.
Trust yourself, and stay focused, although this seems very simple, it 's probably one of the hardest things to do. When your in school and you start to have doubts about if you can really get through those hard classes and you start rethinking if its really worth it, remember your initial goal. Trust in your abilities and remember that you have a right to be here. If you trust yourself and you stay focussed on your goal, you will, without a
Highschool is not like the movies show it. Jocks are not always bullies, books are not slapped out of people’s hands on a daily basis, and getting A’s does not make someone a nerd. It is some of the most important years an individuals life. Highschool most of the time determines someones appearance to the world until they are an adult. If you do something amazing in highschool many people will remember you for it. The same thing goes for doing something with serious consiquences as well. Highschool is a tornado that consists of friendships, sports/clubs, and what one will do with their life after highschool.
These things alone will not help get good grades, the student 's have to put effort into everything that they do. Just do one assignment at a time, do not worry about assignments in the future or the current grades will be effected because the student is not putting enough effort into them. Tests count as the majority of the grade, so when it comes time to take it,
