On my first day of 6th grade, it was fun, but I was very nervous about the lockers and going to all of my classes by myself. On the other hand, 6th grade was very fun and was a good time with lots of my friends. The first thing that I had to do was to set up my locker. I went with my eldest sister and it took me about 5-10 tries to open my locker. It took a while to put all of my stuff in my locker, my sister basically put everything in there, but anyways. Other than that, meeting my teachers was the next thing I did on the first day of school. I was hoping that the 6th would be a fun year, and it sure was. Next came to meeting my teachers and walked to my class. Mr.O’Dell was a cool and funny teacher. Mrs.Smith is a very awesome teacher
“Education is not the preparation for life; education is life itself.” - John Dewey. Every year, as we enter a new grade, new challenges approach us. Eighth grade is no exception., and will be very different from 7th grade. As I enter my eighth grade school year, I will be bombarded with a variety of new experiences and challenges such as buddies, academics, and being prepared for high school. One of the most important tasks that is thrust onto me is buddies.
I had a good year in first grade. I became the best artist in the class. I started getting better at English. My first word was “bathroom.” I made two friends Michelle Sherman and Karen Calle. After that I started feeling better and actually liking this school. Everything felt better and worked out great!
In early September the students of Sherwood Middle School and parents were shocked. When it was announced by the the district that Sherwood Middle School would be getting a new vice principal. The school board announced that Sherwood Middle School’s vice principal for the last two years, Mr. Kevin McIntosh. Would be leaving and would be replaced by a young man named Marc Jolley.
After, we played some fun activities like rolling down hills, which was this game where people crossed arms and then tried to have every body's arms straight. We also spotted deer. The deer were trying to hide from us when we saw them. They sprinted off faster than a cheetah when we saw them. We were able to have our lunch and then we played more fun games after that. My class went and walked all over Leroy oaks getting to see all of the nature. One guy who worked there taught us about acorns. He was hilarious, sarcastic, and was like go ahead and jump in the poison ivy. Next, we went inside a museum and did a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt was about raccoons and all the other creatures in the museum. I was not the biggest fan it but it went pretty quickly. All I had to do was look at some posters and in some drawers. Mrs. Palpant had a station where you had two rugs and you had to get across with six people on the mats and not touch the ground. It was hard to succeed because there are six people. I was always the person that had to move one of the mats up. The rugs were not very big only about two and a half by two. But, up next we were going to go in the water. I was ready to
It was a warm April day and all of the students were let out of school for the day. I went home to finish packing with the help of my parents making sure that I had everything and I wasn 't forgetting. I was excited for a week now to go on the trip to Washington D.C. with the whole 8th grade class for a week.
James Baldwin’s works were influenced by the times in which he lived, as an African American writer he strove for equality and used his pen to work for civil rights through elements of his childhood among other aspects.
My first day of kindergarten was not a happy day for me. I was scared and wanted to
Section E was the best group and we enjoyed every class together. I had Mrs. Zambetti. Mrs. Prisco, Mr. Perrotti, Mr. Justave, and Mrs. Rosiak who were all the most wonderful teachers. I’ll never forget Egypt Day when Shealyn and I made an amazing diorama of the Nile River, dressed up as Egyptians in togas, and put eyeliner on all the girls, even Dominick who could not get it off and had to keep it on for the rest of the day. It was so funny! Mediterranean Day was also very fun as we ate all types of Mediterranean foods such as humus, pita bread, grapes, baklava, and more. Of course our Athens vs. Sparta field day competition was full of fun as we raced each other around the pond and played various games. Sixth grade was a yet another great year and one that I really
The first two of these teachers, Mr. Oftedahl and Mr. Vepraskas (Mr. O and Mr. V), were my band and choir directors. What amazing people! I love music and often times use music as a form of escape or healing in the rough times. Mr. O and Mr. V were always there to listen to me and offer what comfort they could. I could talk to them as real people, on an adult level. They didn't treat me as a kid with just kid problems. They were very sincere when talking to me and were also very talented musicians. Even though they were my teachers, I know I can talk to them and that they are more than my teachers - they are my friends. Their friendship and open door was what I needed most at that time in my life.
I remember when I was in 2nd grade I got to see a rocket go off on my birthday. You see my grandpa used to work for BALL Aerospace. He help on lots of rockets and space stations. Well it just happened that their was a rocket that was going to go off near my birthday. We had to go to California to see the rocket go off. It just so happened that the weather kept pushing it back until my birthday. The weather was so bad there and there was so much to do before it went off. We had to make sure the weather was right and that all the mechanics in the rocket were right and we also had to go to all of these meetings and lectures about the rocket. Well when my birthday came around the weather was just right that the rocket could go off. I had to get
9th grade, the most important year of High school. This is about High school and about what grade is most important. I think the most important year of High school is 9th grade. The reason i chose 9th grade is because, 9th grade determines if your going to be a successful student or a failing student. Students who have bad grades are most likely to fail and that can be helped by getting missing assignments done and turning in make up work. While students who have good grades are going to pass and be successful in school and after school. Students who fail repeat a grade and end up being overwhelmed and depressed. I can support this because in the article on paragraph 3 it states, “They are experiencing the unusual adolescent angst and depending
High school is said to be one of the most important times in your life; where you will make lasting memories before you go to college. For most people, this probably includes going to football games on Friday nights. I am not an exception to this. I loving going to football games and hanging out with my friends, but I have missed more than a few of those games, including the last game of my senior year. I was busy preparing for Saturday. On that day, I would run the last cross country race of my life. It was the state championship.
Having no job makes it easier to find time for schoolwork and It makes it a lot easier to get things done during the day. My boyfriend Trey and I are living in the basement of his retired parent's house since we move to Washington state about a year ago. I've started to get somewhat of a pattern going during the day. I wake up, run any errands, do all my chores, and get any craft projects done and then I sit down to do schoolwork before bedtime. My chore responsibilities are only limited to a few things since my boyfriend's mother Katje does most of the cooking and cleaning. I take about a good two to three hours every other week cleaning our studio sized living area. Every few days I'll do our laundry and clean the upstairs bathroom. Our hedgehog's cage gets cleaned once a week and the cats litter box gets cleaned daily.
First Grade is a dream year for all children..well for me it was it felt like Yes I can finally go to school like a big kid and i was so excited to do so and to read and write seemed like a dream come true but when
Bonnie the secretary introduced me to my new teacher. As Mrs. Bonnie was leaving the room, my new teacher Mrs. Evaheart introduced me to the class. As I stared at the class I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. I wanted to go back to my old school where I had friends, knew almost everyone, a place where I didn’t feel lonesome, a place anywhere but here. As I saw each and every one of my new classmates faces the utter dread that I felt slowly began to fade as I saw a familiar face. Seeing one of my former friends give me a renewed hope that maybe being in this school won’t be so bad after
