The strategy that I chose was to look through the article quickly first, I noticed that the article is organized in an outlining format. As it is recommended from the “ASE study skills” of notes taking, when the materials are already in outlines, we can choose to use this method. Physicists started to realize that stable nuclei can be converted to unstable nuclei. Through such process, they discovered that heavy nuclei can undergo nuclear fission. While testing, they added a neutron to an isotope of Uranium 235. This resulted Uranium 235 to become unstable and break down into Barium and Krypton, releasing two to three more neutrons. The breakdown of Uranium 235 is called “fission”.
The purpose of developing this weapon was first and foremost to win the war as quickly as possible. In addition to securing world peace, the United States’ future as a world leader is also at stake. In 1939, President Franklin Roosevelt appointed a committee to research the possibility of using atomic energy for military purposes. By the time the United States entered the war in December 1941, this research was given priority and the project was extended throughout the course of the war. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the Manhattan Project, only a select few knew of the plan to develop the atomic bomb.

Flash cards help me out a great due to the fact that I am a logical learner. I learn best when I can see facts written down on paper. It really depends on the information that I am trying to take in for the strategy that I use for studying. For instance, when studying vocabulary words and definitions I use flash cards, and other things that I study I will use other techniques. The mood that I am in when I am preparing to study will also determine the strategy that I will use to absorb the information.
