From keeping track of my time I realized that I used more than the 168 hours, in fact I use 225.4 hours. My sleep average is 56 hours per week, because I sleep about 8 hours a night, got to have that rest. I eat about 32.2 hours a week which is quite a lot more than I actually expected, studying and homework took 56 hours. I think that its good it means that I am studying right and being better prepared. I had a job but left in pursuit of a more stable and comfortable position.
As always family is always important got to make time for them, I mean who wants to be lonely. 14 hours a week is not bad actually that goes the same with my activities such as going to the gym and working out. I also spend the same amount of time cleaning and doing
This episode of "30 Days" Morgan Spurlock travels to a Navajo Indian reservation in an attempt to experience modern Native American life. While on the reservation he wants to know it if it’s a link to the past; a cultural escape, or is it simple a place time, and the rest of the world forgot.
Many people love their jobs and the salary that comes with it, but is it worth the time of not seeing your family? Time management and balancing work life with your personal life, along with little to no stress should be improved today. The reading “Beat the Clock: Time Management Training Can Improve Productivity and Morale by Helping Employees Balance Work and Family” by Kathryn Tyler authored this article for people who struggle with time management, like their employees said in the text. This article is primarily about people and employees improving their skills in time management and productivity to balance their time and lives. Employers noticed that their employees are stressed on their workload so to fix this problem, they made a program
Imagine waking up on a hospital bed, surrounded by wires attached to your body. You get up, you wander around, and you notice that the world around you is empty. That is exactly what happens to Jim in the powerful and realistic film 28 Days Later, starring Cillian Murphy and Naomie Harris. The film features the effects of a deadly infection outbreak called rage, but also explores how the infection represents “today’s increasing incidences of road rage, air rage, etc.” and how we are no different than the zombies portrayed in the movie (Allen). Incorporating the film 28 Days Later into the English 10 curriculum would benefit students in understanding the similarities between the time period in the movie and in reality, as well as the correlation between themes in 28 Days Later and other works of literature in the curriculum, and how the film relates to many students.
28 Days is about Gwen Cummings and how she spends her nights drinking and partying with her boyfriend, Jasper. Every day seems to mirror the previous day; drink and party. The movie begins with Gwen and Jasper waking up on a Saturday morning, still drunk from the night before. Gwen soon realizes it is her very proper sister, Lily’s, wedding day and they are late. Gwen ends up ruining Lily’s wedding by showing up late and disarrayed. She had a little too much to drink before giving her maid of honor speech and to top it all off, she knocked over the wedding cake. Intoxicated, she “borrows” the limousine to run to a cake store trying to make it up to her sister. On her way there, she crashes into a house. Gwen is then given the choice
Sports are one of the main cause for the lack time spent with family. The sports practice would occur almost every day and only have a few other days to either catch up on homework or watch the football games that is happening right now. Even during the summer breaks the players are still being
The film which I was assigned for the History and Film Project was titled Thirteen Days. The following film focuses on the time period during the early 1960’s, 1962 to be specific. This time in history was known as the Cuban Nuclear Missile Crisis. The movie gets its title from the amount of days which the United States and the Soviet Union were at conflict and almost went to full out war. This war would have been different than the wars in the past due to the fact that this was a conflict over nuclear weapons, and they would be used in attack from both sides. The president at the time of the affair was John F. Kennedy and the movie portrays how he stood his ground and was able, with the help of top advisors withstand the games that the Soviet Union was playing to scare the United States. The Soviets tried to trigger the nerves of the U.S but to no avail. The Soviets placed missiles on Cuban land and aimed them towards the direction of the Florida coast which would allow for the destruction and wipe out of most parts of the southern and eastern U.S.A. The president is left with a complex situation at his hands, where he is stuck and doesn’t know what to do as the faith of his country is at stake. President Kennedy is in conflict as General Curtis LeMay wants to directly attack Cuba and invade their land to take over and get rid of the crisis that way. We can see in the beginning 20 minutes of the film, the general is shown talking to the president and arguing his case which seems like the most logical thing to do at this point, but the president ends up having a second option as he doesn’t want to take the risk of getting parts of the United States demolished and having to deal with worldwide conflict. The conflict that would o...
Nurses have been working 12-hour shifts for almost 50 years. It all started with the nursing shortage and hospitals needing fewer nurses to work more hours and has continued to be the standard of shifts for nurses. Over the years, there have been many benefits for the hospitals, nurses, and even patients. With these long hours, it can lead to many things such as nursing fatigue and other downsides that can affect everyone including the patient and public. Can does the positive out weight the negative? Are longer shifts putting the patient first and protecting the patient or putting the patient at an unnecessary added risk for injury and accident. In my current hospital, I have seen an increase in nurses who seem to always be talking about
The video Every 15 Minutes was very touching and moving. It made me rethink everything I had ever thought of parting in college and in high school. However i am very lucky to go the school i got to, it is very small and people are less likely to throw crazy parties that involve drugs and alcohol. That does not mean that they can’t either, anyone can have access to alcohol if the parents/guardians have it in the house; most adults figure that teens are responsible enough to know better than steal the alcohol and drink it. Driving impaired is very risky for all: the driver, passengers, and traffic. With the drive having alcohol in his system, he can experience being visually impaired, meaning he can start to see objects, not seeing objects in
I live at home with both of my parents, my second oldest brother, and occasionally my oldest brother and niece visit as well. I grew up with the concept from both of my parents that family is important, no matter what family always comes first. My father showed me this concept in many situations like working all across the country and having to stay away from home to provide. Or even before he had a family and immigrated to the United States so his future family could have a better life. Because of the concept that family comes from, my family is very important to me.
When the word “family” is discussed, most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people's lives, they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. When people hear the word family they think about, the ones who will help them in any way they can whether it’s money, support, advice, or anything to help them succeed in life. Family will forever be the backbone of support.
To begin with, I changed my time management in order to balance between study and entertainment. During high school, I had a poor time management. I attended school for seven hours and tutorial classes after school every day. After that, I had to do tons of homework such as book report, essay and assignment. Although it was late after finishing all my work, I surfed the Internet instead of going to sleep. I always thought that I still have much time left, so I procrastinated all the time. I slept only five hours a day, so I fell asleep in class. As I was not concentrated in class, I missed many important points from the teacher. I had to use more time to study after school so as to catch up. After having the poor experience, I understand the importance of having a good time management, so I tried to plan my work in the college. During college, I have much more free time. I have classes four to five hours a day and the rest is my free time, hence, it is important to have a good time management. I have to make sure that I do not use up my time in surfing the Internet. My goal of attending
As for work ethic I would rate myself exceptionally high. I put in 120% to everything I do and always turn assignments in on time if not early. I am very independent and self motivated. My work ethic and my organization go hand in hand. If I do not keep everything in order I’ll miss due dates and not manage my time well, but I’d say for managing 17+ credits a term, 30 or more hours of work, practicum, and homework I do a pretty great job.
Most people today think that family is just being close and knowing each others past and secrets. When really, family means being there for someone when they really need you. Family is being able to pick up the phone and call someone at whatever time of the day, and them be there for you as soon as they hang up the phone. Times get rough and if they’re not there, then you shouldn’t consider them family. Without a family, who else would you have? Your family is seriously the only ones you can count on. You know that without a doubt your family will always be there right by your side during the good and bad times. They will never betray your trust, nor talk behind your back. No matter what, you will always have
We all spend a large portion of our week at work and sometimes that amount of time can skew our priorities. However, at the end of the day it is family that is really important. Early in my career the perception was that in order to get ahead you had to be the person putting in the most hours. I would often come in early and stay late to show my commitment. However, over time this perception has changed and I have found that it is not true that putting in the most hours makes you the best employee. The birth of my son six years ago really changed my perceptions and priorities. When my husband and I were both focused on our careers it was easy to get in the pattern of working long hours, but once you have a child at home you have a very good reason to not spend every waking hour working. I have discovered the true importance of work life balance and contrary to my old beliefs I think it has actually made me a better employee. I am motivated to do my best when I am at work, while working very efficiently and with a purpose. I am much happier in general with the balance and my family is also happy. This value will continue to be of great importance to me for the remainder of my career. I think it also makes me a more compassionate and empathetic leader and my employees respect my values and want to also do their best while they are at
So time is the key denominator that describes how I care for my loved ones. I believe that every human being deserves to have that one person who does not judge them by the past and who is willing to offer a shoulder to lean on when times get hard. I am also of the opinion that my loved ones need somebody to share their innermost thoughts with; in essence, they need somebody they can trust. In this regard, I strive a lot to balance my time so as to include a couple of hours to spend with my family. This may include drawing a line between handwork and being a workaholic, since tis may at times come out as insensitive, even though I am entitled to work. I like to visit relatives and share experiences about life. I often find that this helps a lot not only as a way of showing love to others, but also for my personal well-being, which is positively impacted. Therefore, to me, being there is simple enough to reassure my loved ones that o value
