4-Week Training Program
I'm 15 yrs old, my height is 6'0", and my
weight is 10st 3lbs. I have been asked to design a training program
for my PE coursework. I will take into consideration training
principles, my current level of fitness etc.
I would describe myself as a fairly healthy person, and fairly fit
too. I perform considerably well at all sports and my endurance level
in particular is of a good standard. I have only one injury problem.
This prevents me from using my back muscles such as the trapezius to
their full potential. In a typical week I tend to get around 10 hours
of physical activity at least. This involves me playing sports such as
basketball and football, both of which require a great deal of
stamina. Over the course of this program I aim to improve my fitness
levels, and certain distances or times of different events that will
help me with my chosen sport, which is basketball. I am hoping to
improve the skill level of my game which will enable me to become a
better player.
There are certain hazards in the school gym where I will be carrying
out my fitness program. However none that are unavoidable with a
little planning. Since there is a large amount of people using a
relatively small amount of space, other people's safety is a major
factor. All of us are doing exercises which will help us with
basketball which means the exercises are similar. this means that the
same station will be used by different people. To avoid the problem of
too many people being on the same station at the same time I will
attempt to co-operate with my colleagues in order carry out all the
exercises within the 1 hour time limit that I have once a week.
Since there a lot of exercises which require the same muscle groups to
be used, I will have a certain order which will help me balance out
the amount of time I use each muscle without resting it.

6 Week Training Program For my GSCE Coursework I decided to perform a circuit-training programme for the sport of tennis. This durated for six weeks. I am already an experienced tennis player so this is to be taken into consideration with training procedures and results.
Tests after tests including MRI’s, X-rays, and experimental procedures were performed to show I had five ruptured disks in the lower lumbar section of my back. Tedious Examination done by a group of doctors concluded I had a crippling disease of the spinal column called spinal stenosis. Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal that causes compression of the spinal cord. (Lohr,1) If this disease was ignored any longer, it would lead to many other problems affecting other areas of my back to help support this weakness. It was an extremely rare case for an athlete my age.
You are going to want to give up, you are gonna get impatient but it is vital that you listen to what you are told. The old saying, “Minor setback major comeback” is very relevant to the patients going through any kind of injury. You may be broken now, but if you heal correctly you could come back better than you were before. The most important outcome for me is that my patients have gotten the best care they could have received and they have recovered to the fullest extent and for my patients I would like them to know that their injury does not define them, it is what happens after that matters the most. The methods that I would want to use would be pushing my clients to always work hard for what they want to achieve; Granted, there are different injuries so each one will be handled in a different way. For example, if a client comes in with a torn ligament in their arm it is not going to be an easy process for them. My job just does not involve making sure my clients heal, but also motivating them not give up and to always see the brighter side of their injury. I will know that I have accomplished all of my patients’ goals when they are healthy and ready to be active again. These types of injuries could take upwards to eighteen months to return to playing condition, and in this time an athlete will often fall behind in the sport that they love. This often causes the athlete to quit the sport they once loved because they can no longer truly compete amongst their peers. At least 2 hours a day I will have a soccer ball at my feet, basketball in my hand, or be pushing up on a barbell. I play play soccer year round, starting with travel in the fall, then High School in the Spring, and lots of pick up in the summer. During the fall I play 4 days a week and during the Spring it usually goes up to 6. During the winter I stay the most busy with Basketball. I practice 6 days a week with the High School team. These practices usually last three hours after school and take priority above everything in the winter. As for weight lifting I will try to get in the gym before soccer most days or on any day I don't have practice. It is hard to find a day I’m not doing something
