When most kids think about a four day week they are excited, but what if that was the case every week. A three day weekend every sounds great but it really would not work well. The end result ends up being less after school activities because of longer school days, increased homework and less focus in class, and leaves parents needing help one extra day a week. Primarily when there is a four day week it is because of a holiday. Generally you're parents are going to have holidays off so there is no issues there, but just because you have a four day school week doesn't mean they do too. So what then? Well you would probably have to hire a babysitter or if they are old enough they can be home alone. What do you do if you don't have money for a babysitter and nobody around to help. Also even for the older kids who can be alone how do you know they aren't getting into trouble being unsupervised, not going to be an issue for everyone but definitely something to consider for some. It's not like it's just as easy as taking a day off of the week because the kids parents have to have the days off too and for most everybody that is not going to work. Also, you would have to consider the after school activities that …show more content…
By the end of a normal school day kids are already unfocused and ready to leave by the time school is over. The weekend length would only increase school time, as well as increase amount of homework. No kid is going to want to have to be in school longer and teachers aren't going to be happy with the lack of focus. Also kids hate homework so how is making more happen going to help, and the teachers will be forced to teach more information per class but by the end will have kids unfocused and just ready to leave. The three day weekend gives more time for homework but children will already be unfocused by the end of a long day but that will also result in less attention during class and forgetting of new concepts over the extended

Four-day weeks are a blessing from Jesus, at least back when I went to my Christian private school. All jokes aside, I loved those four day weekends, as they saved the school money, allowed me to relax, and let me finish my homework. Three-day weekends cooled everything off and helped me to be ready and refreshed to go back to school. Now that I am back in public school, this nice comfort no longer exists. This is why I would love to have a four-day week again, to have everything better in general.
Students now have the opportunity to work another day to save for their future. The four-day school week also provides much more time for these children to spend and enjoy time with friends, and family, as well as enjoying extracurricular activities. There is a lovely environment for the children at the school and an extra day for the instructors to gain knowledge and a better understanding of their curriculum. The schools will be saving a varying amount of money that could be used in case of an emergency with money of any kind. Whether it is an emergency funding program, or money to fund an extracurricular activity. In conclusion, the four-day school week has proven itself to be a very effective form of education that Colby Public Schools most certainly should switch to within the coming
The other reason why we shouldn’t have a four school week is because students will have more time to get into trouble more.Half of high school and middle school students will get into drugs and crimes because they are unsupervised for a long time.If students get into crime and drugs at a young age they probably wouldn’t be able to get a job. Some of the students wouldn’t know it’s bad for them. The reason why is because some of the students don’t know it’s bad is because their parents or teachers haven’t told them about why it is bad.
School should be four days a week with an extra hour added to each school day because it would save money for the school system, increase student motivation, stimulate the economy, and promote student achievement. There has been a decrease in education due to the small amount of resources, causing classrooms to be bigger and children not being able to extend their knowledge. Even though the economy has been falling, each school district has been working hard to promote student education, which could mean trading a traditional school schedule for a four-day school week. Replacing a normal school schedule for the four day school week can raise the school budget tremendously. (Hart, Demand Media).
Another thing year round schooling would affect is family trips and vacations. Summer is one of the times most families go on vacation or take trips to relatives house that live far away. Most parents do not want to take their kids out of school to take a 2 week long trip to go see see their distant
Having a four-day school week is an ambitious proposal intended to help students work their way through. Those in favor of this shift believe that it will allow for more study time, and more time to go over the lessons for the week. Truthfully, it will just add time onto the eight-hour school day a student already endures. As much as officials want to believe that a four-day week would provide more time to focus on the lesson, it would only make students more exhausted. Kathleen Kingsbury reveals that “Parents also worry their children won’t have the time – or the energy – for after-school activities.”
Labor Day is not like many other U.S. holidays. It is a celebration without specific traditions, like family dinners or prayers. For most people, Labor Day just marks the last weekend of summer and the start of a new school year.
The first reason he should have a 4 day school week is the students have better mental health going to school 4 days a week instead of 5. In the article 4-Day School Week May Yield Mental Health Benefits for Life
School should be four days a week with three day weekends. There is many ways to help out as students and employers throughout the workforce. This may strike some as a childish statement; however some ideas are worth thinking about. Just one extra day on the weekend could totally change are moods and personalities toward school. Then students could get plenty of rest and have more family time because studies show students are at school more than they are with our families.
There are many opinions and studies about reforming school days. Some people are concerned that longer school days would bring more difficulties. However, there are numerous studies and practical examples that prove that we improve students’ performance by lengthening school days. Finally, the economy and our society will benefit from expanding school days.
My average week during the school year is slam packed with activities. No day is ever the exact same, but everyday will be busy. Whether it be traveling an hour for a soccer game or going to youth group I will have something to participate in everyday after school. You could split my commitments after school into four categories. These categories consisting of work, academics, athletics, and entertainment.
For most of the delinquent students got caught from their slightly misbehaving act for the first few times is not really a problem. What they don’t know about is that there is a program that can literarily handle even the most delinquent student must also bow down in surrender. The program is called “Weekend School”, also known for many students as “Hellish Torture School.” It was considered the most terrible and awful program and most students were afraid of. Because they believe that if they get into the weekend school, they have only one percent chance of survive. This programs it only available to most of the South East Asia countries middle school and high school. The purpose is to deal with delinquent students who get caught for their
Now that were in the middle of winter, chances are school will be canceled a few times. Since schools are savage, they don't give you any free days so you have to make up time. Most schools usually have different types of things they do for making up snow days. That is why i'm glad my schools lets the kids vote for what they want. If my school were to close for several days and we had to make up eight hours I would either choose to make it up on a Saturday, stay an extra hour everyday for eight days, or stay four hours on Saturday and Sunday.
The extra day of classes would cut down on work days for students. Saturday classes would also mean one less day of rest for both students and teachers alike. & nbsp; Less time with a family could lower a student's grade point average. For some students Saturday is the only time they can see family. This would be true for students whose parents are divorced or who both work Monday through Friday. Not seeing family could lead to a bad attitude or severe depression. Some students have close relationships with their parents and want or need to spend time with their parents. A student with a bad attitude or severe depression cannot learn well and perform well in class. Not being able to learn well will not bring an already low education level up. & nbsp; The extra day of school would cut down on work days for students. A cut-down on work hours during the weekend could influence a student to work more late-night hours to earn money. for car payments or college funds. That would create a very tired, unprepared student. That student, in turn, will not do well with school work. The extra day of school would take away from any other job a teacher may have. Some teachers have additional jobs to earn extra money. Less time to work another job could create a bad attitude. A teacher with a bad attitude will not be able to teach effectively. & nbsp; One extra day of school cuts into precious relaxation time for students and teachers alike. Just one day may not sound like a lot; but, for a busy student, it could mean the difference between an A and a B. That one extra day of rest can change an attitude easily. With one day of rest and one more day to do homework, a student can have time to avoid a jam-packed schedule for a day.
