Animal Testing “Imagine living inside a locked closet without any control over any aspect of your life. You can’t choose when and what you eat, how you will spend your time, whether or not you will have a partner and children, or who that partner will be. You can’t even decide when the lights go on and off.” “As said by peta.org.” The animal experimentation, also known as animal testing program, is a program that use animals to see the results in drugs, beauty products, hair spray (other hair accessories). Opinions on this subject are a different form each other because some say that we should still use animals, but I disagree. There are many reason but these are my 3 reasons for why we should stop animal testing. Animal testing is inhumane …show more content…
The first supporting reason is 87% of the animals that are tested are dying right on the testing table as said by animal-testing.procon.org/net. The laboratories are killing the animals for many reason such as drugs and cosmetics in their system and when this happens they are so drugged up that they have decided they are done and kill you because they are drugged heavily. When the animals are on the testing table all they know is that they are being tested on and need to stay calm and when the drugs kick in that usually means that they are going to sleep and may not wake up because of those drugs that they have had or it didn’t go as planned and they do have to get a new animal they conduct the same exact experiment on the next animal. I have chosen this because the animals, are being used and used because of experiments and when they go bad they just try again because they need to prove a …show more content…
The reason they choose this is because they can find me new drugs to cure things and they can find new disease before go all over the world and kill more people. They can also find cures for already existing disease and they can also find out what to do when the dishes get all over and what to do to cure it. The animal and human were always different because they have different cells and they have more body parts and when they have different cells all they do is take those cells out there body even if it's important then see what happens. The main reason is they don’t want to see another human being killed because that is inhuman and cruel to the human but not the
Every year over 100 million animals die in the US; the cause for these deaths, animal testing. This injustice to animals involves testing products such as medical drugs or makeup, on poor imprisoned animals that don’t have the ability to stand for their own rights as most of us do. Animals used for testing are given products that may result in burning, poisoning, or death. These animals are forced to live in confined spaces where they wait until the next horrible experiment. They are, tortured beyond imagination as they are sometimes even cut open while they are alive (know as vivisection), either with expired analgesics or even without them.
Over 100 Million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned and abused in testing labs every year. Animals are used to test the safety of products, advance scientific research, and develop models to study disease and to develop new medical treatments, all for the sake of mankind. Animals should not be used for scientific research because animal testing is inhumane, other testing methods now exist, and animals are very different from human beings. While animal testing has led to many life-saving cures, animal testing is cruel and inhumane because it involves inflicting pain and harm on the test subject to study its effects and remedies. Testing involves physically restraining, force-feeding, and depriving animals of food and water.
Thirdly, animal testing is unnecessary and unreliable because animal organisms are not the same as human ones. Hence, if a certain cosmetic product is determined to be safe after an animal test is done it does not necessarily mean that it is safe for human use. Therefore, we cannot rely on animal testing and we cannot be always sure that a certain product is safe for human use. So, there are lots of animal lives wasted, but many human lives could also be lost if some drug or product cause harm or even death. This is a strong reason why animal testing should be banned in order to save animals and people
The point of animal testing is to see how the animals react to the procedure or medicine and if it is safe for human beings to have access to. Animals are tested with cosmetic products, household cleaning products, food chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Should animal testing be stopped or is it justified? There are different views on this topic and each group believes strongly in their opinion. Animal testing has been around for centuries.
One word comes to mind when I think of animal testing: cruel. Animal testing has been a subject of debate for many years. While most people think that using animals to test products is a reasonable approach, in reality the outcome does not always show how the products will react on humans, and the animals suffer unnecessarily. The United States needs to ban all animal testing like the European Union did because testing on animals is cruel and animals should not be dying from it.
Every year thousands of animals are euthanized due to animal testing such as cosmetic testing, medical testing, and dissection. (A Critical Look at Animal Experimentation) (Types of Animal Testing) Some of the things we use every day such as; make up, soap, furniture polish, and varieties of cleaning supplies, are tested on rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, and other animals. (Animal Testing) Cosmetic testing is used to test a product and its ingredients, medical testing finds cures for different illnesses; and dissection is used to help high school students in science classes have a better understanding of the class or students undergoing the medical field in college. (Animal Experimentation) Animal testing is not required by law; it is only used to protect companies from consumer lawsuits, provided new research for diseases, and provide a visual learning experiment for students. (A Critical Look at Animal Experimentation) It has been proven that there are more reliable and less expensive alternatives to animal testing, such as; computer models and cell and tissue tests. Animal experimentation should be eliminated because it is an inhumane method for testing purposes.
Imagine being a helpless animal: scared and hungry, in a metal box crammed with angry strangers. Now imagine being poked, prodded, and cut with the roughest grip. The pain and confusion is unbearable, while the humans are showing no sympathy. All of the pain and suffering is caused because they want to enhance the way they look. Animal testing has been around and used for centuries, but the human race has advanced extremely in science since that time, so there is no logical reason to continue the testing of animals. Animal experimentation should be eliminated because animals have feelings, the experiments are inhumane, the results are unreliable, it is wasting tax money, and there are better methods than having to test on animals.
Imagine not having a choice and being used for experimenting without having any say at all. For everyone, this seems like a horrible nightmare; for animals this nightmare is their reality. It is unethical to sentence animals to life in a lab cage and to intentionally cause them excruciating pain. Industries even cram multiple animals at a time in a single cage where they are all subjected to food and water deprivation, forced feeding, forced inhalation, and long periods of phsycial restraint. Through the process, animals can be burned, poisoned, given diseases such as cancer, blinded, paralyzed and brain damaged. According to Humane Society International, most are even encountered with inflictions of burns and other wounds to examine the healing processes. Also with pain to study its effects caused from these experiments. These animals are rarely offered any form of pain relief, and in some cases, may be left to suffer until they eventually die. The poor, traumatized animals used in experiments are treated like nothing more than disposable lab equipment. Like humans, they can feel pain and fear. Just because they don't have the same abilities as humans doesn’t mean their life has any less value to them. That’s why these helpless and defenseless animals should stop being taken advantage of. The world does not need another mascara, shampoo, or household cleaning product so badly that it should come at
Hurting an animal is better than hurting a fellow human being right? Well imagine a child being ripped away from his mother in today’s society, for no reason. Would that be considered okay, or kidnapping? Imagine humans being forced to breed, just so their children can be tortured for makeup or a new facial wash. Would that be considered okay, or morally incorrect? People do not see animals as fellow living things, because they do not have the power to say no like a person can. They can’t stand up for themselves, leaving the people of the world to do it for them. Seeing that there are other ways to test out consumer products, why harm defenseless, breathing, loving, beings? With all things considered, animal testing “has no place in science today” (Goodall, 1).
Hundreds and millions of animals are killed everyday due to animal testing. The number of animal deaths in labs have halved since the 1970’s. An animal dies in a Canadian lab every 16 seconds! The contemporary scale of animal deaths due to animal testing is unacceptable! 17-22 million animals are tested on each year and at least half are put to death. 2.5 million animals are killed due to animal testing at the Great Britain Zoo every year. Animal testing essentially involves harming or killing the animals, every year so many innocent animals are put to death on behalf of our a...
Animal testing is the use of non-human animals for scientific experimentation. There are estimates that 50 to 100 million vertebrate animals worldwide from zebra fish to on-human primates are used annually. Much larger numbers of invertebrates are used even flies and worms are used has model organisms are very important, experiments on invertebrates are largely unregulated and not included in statistics. Animals are euthanized after being used in a experiment. Some of these animals are purpose-bred and others are caught in the wild or they are supplied by dealers who obtain them from auctions and pounds. The testing on the animals are conducted inside universities, medical schools, pharmaceutical companies, farms, defense establishments and commercial facilities that provide animal-testing services to industry. Some of the tests that researchers do on the animals are biomedical research transplantation, drug testing and toxicology test, cosmetics and other animals are used for directional research, breeding and defense research. Organizations like PETA and BUVA thinks it it not a necessity for this testings. They think is is cruel, poor scientific practice, poorly regulated and that animals used for experimentations have an intrinsic right not be be used for experimentation. Many Americans don’t agree with testing on animals. Testing animals is wrong and they are just poor helpless animals and they die every day. They are testing animals with products such has soap, household cleaners, drugs, cosmetics, pesticides and other chemicals. Drug tests that are done on animals that pass the test end up harming or killing humans. Lists of animals that get tested daily are cats, dogs, monkeys, mice, and rabbits. The researchers test these ...
For many years, scientists have made numerous scientific advancements in the world. Over the years, scientists have been able to treat life-saving cures and beauty products that we now use in today 's society. Unfortunately, the only way that most of these scientists were able to get successful results, is at the price of animals ' lives. As a result of animal testing, over a million animals die and continue to suffer during testing and other experiments (PETA). Animal testing should be illegal because every life has value and testing on animals is cruel and inhumane.
There are many opinions and people who dissent on whether animal testing should be continued or if it is a crime to the world. It may be one’s consent another to see that it is extremely wrong. Animal testing is an exemplification of how humanity has come to using innocent defenseless animals to satisfy for its own selfish desires. When animal testing became a popular way to test products in the, 1900s it was genuinely believed that animals could not feel pain or emotions and that they were robots. People back then tested on animals for many different reasons such as research, theories, medicines, products and many more although, research on living animals has been practiced since at least 500 BC. Animal testing is wrong because animal tested
This is unexceptable and needs to be addressed. Millions of animals are dying and if this keeps happening eventually they will be endangered. On http://www.aboutanimaltesting.co.uk/using-animals-testing-pros-versus-cons.html the author states,”
Many humans use animals for testing each year. Animal testing is when the animals are put through something or injected to see how they react to what medical research they have been used for. Animals are used to find cures for diseases or to test drugs that have mild side effects. They are also used to test materials for cosmetic research.
