1920's Dbq

In the 1920s it was an era where we see throughout history in the United States, many events that had an major impact to the society, people and financial. For example many events that had an impact that had created biggest changes to society are the business of America, business and government, the women’s freedom, and the birth of civil liberties. Referring to the book “Give Me Liberty by Eric Foner in the Chapter 20 from business culture to great depression (1920-1932)”, these are the events that had a biggest change in the 1920s.

The first biggest change in the 20s era is the time of business of America where, we see a change of a new society, where the advertisement of new products, as the psychological of the American’s everyday needs.

Like the new communication with telephones, washing machines, refrigerators, and transportations and new entertainments like movies and radio. All these new needs are referring to the businesses advertisements to the new consumers, and big companies with big revenue as the film era. One of the great changes in history, were Hollywood films dominate the film market, since the early years shortly before World War I. We see how these entertainment companies brought mass entertainment to America homes, from 190,000 to 5 million radios as a way to spend time relaxing, as a new change from the early years. Referring to the book “Give Me Liberty, An American History by Erick Foner in the chapter 20 A New Society”.
Also women’s freedom is part as a big change in the 1920’s, where prewar feminist demand in one-way for personal freedom, as a female liberation. As I mention before advertisement had a big impact to society for new world as a mass entertainment and women new freedom. As part of women freedom their sexuality became their own decision, with this came the use of birth control. The way they dressed changed, women started wearing short skirts, and their bobbed hair. Change became noticeable when women were seen smoking and drinking in public mostly in large cities.
Adding to these changes the birth of civil liberties, that had a huge impact in the 1920’s. Were before World War I, they had the prohibition of pro-businesses those civil liberties. It helps to have a rights reforms and legal protection as freedom of speech against the government, as part of the biggest changes that refers to rights revolution. The court and civil liberties tide decision of creating an act to change the political economic system. Referring to the book “Give Me Liberty, An American History by Erick Foner in the chapter 20, The birth of civil liberties”. These are part of the biggest changes in the 1920’s era were we see discrimination, no freedom, economic depression, and the most important the equal rights. But with this events we learn through history how each person has the right to be free in this world, by creating new way of living and learning from mistakes to had a better place to live. I think the 1920’s it was a moment where it had a huge impact to this beautiful country.
