As Mike arrived at the end of the hallway, he looked on the left side and saw the door to room 1408. The door was different then all the other doors he had seen along the hall; it was slightly bigger and the color was different. All the other doors were black and freshly painted while the door to room 1408 had an old greenish color and there was places were the paint had been chipped. Mike also had a hard time seeing the number of the room since the paint was slightly faded away. When Mike inserted the key in the door handle, his heart was beating as it never had before. Even if Mr. Enslin was afraid, he turned the key and swung the door wide open leaving it to produce a squeaky, irritating sound.
He entered the room and opened the lamp that only produced a dim light. Mike then placed his overnight case on the floor and shut the door. He walked farther in and saw two doors, one was the washroom and the other one was the closet. Mr. Enslin then took out his Sony minicorder and started to describe what he observed. On the walls, there was an amber colored wallpaper with some dark stains, and the floor was wooden, making a cracking sound every time someone stepped on it. In front of the window, there was a long and silky burgundy curtain. The room did not have much furniture either. There was a queen sized bed white cream colored sheets, one average sized lamp, an old phone, two red sofa chairs, a coffee table, a little refrigerator and a toaster which was placed on top of the coffee table. In the room, there was also two framed pictures. One was a picture of an old town and the other picture was a small family on a farm. Mike had also realized that the room had a particular smell; it smelled like an old basement that had not been ...

...e hallway and went down the elevator. As he was impatiently waiting for the elevator to arrive, Mike could not remember anything that just happened a few minutes ago. Mike tapped his pants and he could not even feel his Sony minicorder anymore. He then raced back to the room, unlocked it, only to find that the room had been transformed into a humongous hole. He could not even write anything anymore since everything he collected through the night had been lost. Mike then mopped around right into the elevator, pressed down and waited to get out. When the doors opened, Mr. Olin was there waiting for him, knowing that Mike would not have stayed. He then laughed and chuckled. Mike threw him the key and after catching them, Mr. Olin told him: “Ha-ha, I told you know one can stay in that room longer than an hour and by the way, I hope the scotch does not stain your shirt.”
Inside, the walls were a pristine white, with shiney linoleum floors. A new range and refrigerator awaited in the kitchen. It seemed like a dream to them -- until it all came crashing down. One of Lajoe's sisters was found strangled in the family's bathtub. Then, upon hearing the news of his sisters death, one of Lajoe's brothers had a heart attack and died.
The window slowly creaked open, a soft wind blew into the small room. The sound of light breathing came from under the sheets were a young boy slept, oblivious to the happenings that night. Soft footsteps hit the floor, the smell of old toys and new bed sheets wafted out of the room, hitting two men crouched down by the bed. A hand reached up, gingerly touching the boy.

Recalling the similarities and differences of the house and occupants from the present to the past 1) the general structure of the house. 2) The fact that the stranger had a mother, a father, and a sister, and 3) where the strangers father and the current father sat for dinner. Out of all the differences brought up, the appearance of the house from the strangers memory seems to be the most noteworthy. For example the stranger stated “dark by day, dark by night” (Oates 327) probably due to the gloomy circumstances of his childhood. The stranger soon becomes distressed and agitated in the house which we find out is due to his fathers abusive nature. One moment in particular when memories started rushing in was when he looked at the window seat. The stranger describes the memory of his mother asking him riddles such as “ ‘What is round, and flat, measuring mere inches in one direction, and infinity in the other?’ ‘Out of what does our life arise? Out of what does our consciousness arise? Why are we here? Where is here?’” (Oates 328). These questions just like the act of violence and abuse don’t have a definitive answer but they go on and on until the answer to the question eventually become the question itself. The stranger goes on with his tour and continues upstairs and its noted that the son and the stranger had the same bedroom. The mother and father ask if the stranger wants to see their room but the stranger
Finding a door to exit would become a puzzling exercise during one of their St. Albans investigations. Terri and Marie were in what is known as “the safe room,” because a large old-fashioned safe is located there. They had completed their investigation and were readying to leave the room when they realized they couldn’t. There wasn’t a door. “It was as if it had been morphed over,” said Terri. “We went around and around in circles. We were growing concerned when we made another lap and there it was. It was as if the door materialized out of nowhere,” she said.
All the shiny items to the back of the room caught my eye instantly because they appeared to look rich and prestigious. On the right of the big main entrance door in front, there was a silver tree, and on the opposite side of the room on the left side of the door, there was a gold tree. Money hangs on the tree, and I thought that was an interesting feature to have. As I looked around the room, I noticed the red carpet below me, and everyone was sitting on small rectangular pillows. The main speaker told me that pillows were located in the big container next to me, so I grabbed one and sat down. The...
The heavy door seemed like a prison door that was meant to keep inmates inside. The Nurse on the other hand who was attending the visitor’s desk was dressed in a white uniform. She was as cold in her reception, similar to the day that was cold outside. Marian does not tell the nurse her true intentions of being there except that she was a campfire girl wanting to visit some old lady. When asked by the nurse in a manly voice “Acquainted with any of our residents?” (122), Marian nervously pushing her hair behind and stammers “With any old ladies? No – but – that is, any of them will do”. (122) showing that the both of them were really not concerned about the
...stairs to see if it worked. As I opened the door to the apartment, there sitting at the table in all his glory was my grandfather. He was wearing an ear to ear grin that could have lit up the darkest of nights. He motioned for me to come over to him. As I got closer to him, he said, "go look behind the icebox." I walked over to it and with nervous anticipation I peeked behind. Lo and behold, there he was, the mouse that had caused so much turmoil for my grandfather, now dead, caught by a persistent old man of many ideas.
11:14 p.m.-I slowly ascend from my small wooden chair, and throw another blank sheet of paper on the already covered desk as I make my way to the door. Almost instantaneously I feel wiped of all energy and for a brief second that small bed, which I often complain of, looks homey and very welcoming. I shrug off the tiredness and sluggishly drag my feet behind me those few brief steps. Eyes blurry from weariness, I focus on a now bare area of my door which had previously been covered by a picture of something that was once funny or memorable, but now I can't seem to remember what it was. Either way, it's gone now and with pathetic intentions of finishing my homework I go to close the door. I take a peek down the hall just to assure myself one final time that there is nothing I would rather be doing and when there is nothing worth investigating, aside from a few laughs a couple rooms down, I continue to shut the door.
It was a dark gloomy night at the Ole Cabin in Kentucky. Four friends were having their own camping trip in the woods at Ole’s Cabin. Little did they know the Ole cabin was abandoned for decades. They say about five years ago, five campers were killed that night in the cabin but that was just a silly story that has been going around these years. RJ, Amy, MJ, and Louis started preparing their bed to go to sleep after their long journey from Canada. The Cabin has five rooms; four of them were bedrooms and one was the living room. Before RJ went to the door to his room; he bumped into the tall pillar and a shiny object fell into his backpack without him realizing it. The lights were out when the five friends decided to call it a night. Amy was still awake and couldn’t go to sleep. She went to get a water bottle from the living room. All of a sudden Amy started to scream. RJ, MJ, and Louis came out of their rooms and saw Amy screaming in fear. “What’s wrong Amy?” said Emma. Amy pointed at the wooden entrance door. On the door there was a writing written in blood. “Put back the turtle…” ...
“The pictures in the living room were also tilted”. “The breakfast menu changed language several times before disappearing, and appearing again in English”. Then “things start disappearing on the table and a painting appeared on the wall”. “The living room pictures also changed, showing the faces of people that had died in the room”. The door was also locked, trapping him inside.
Waking up around nine in the morning, Mike tosses out of his queen sized bed that has covers that have blue diamond pattern covers. The first thing he does when he gets out of bed is he heads towards the shower. After his shower, he begins to smell something being made in the kitchen. So he puts on his lazy clothes and heads to the kitchen. When he gets to the kitchen, his parents are making breakfast for his siblings, who are all biological, and him.
He made an important decision by choosing the door on the right. He chose to trust her with his life. The princess had a grim look on her face. In the second following the opening of the door on the right, a loud sound was heard throughout the arena. The onlookers hoped that it came from the man, but knew that they would not be so lucky. The prince sent one last look towards the princess-a look that clearly betrayed the sadness he felt in that moment. The princess wished she had looked away, for that look had almost made her regret the decision she had made. Though he had seemed brave up to this point, there was nothing to be seen on his face but pure fear. That alone told the audience what lay beyond the door. The people in the audience could not bear to watch. All that could be heard was the tearing of flesh. The princess had led her suitor to his demise.

When he leaves he gets and urgent call to get to the station ASAP. “Where is it and what is the situation?”, Keegan asks “ The coffee place by the station, and it’s a kitchen fire”, Tommy says “I’ll get there as fast as I can”, Keegan says He starts the sirens on his car and zooms down the road to the station for his stuff.
When I walked in to the rom, the door was shut closed behind me. I was just standing there, hypnotised by this little girl’s laughter, until I finally came to my senses and ran toward the door. The door would not open. I tried over and over, but it never opened.
