When harvest time is here, everyone is busy on the farms. Everyone is helping and busy all day long. For example when my dad is chopping corn silage and my mom is busy in the house. The question is who has to run to town when a part is needed or for diesel. A solution could be to allow 14 year olds to drive. This would help out in a variety of ways by allowing 14 year olds to drive. By allowing 14 year olds to drive would help out greatly. The ability to have more drivers means more equipment is able to be used. Having more drivers and equipment means more efficiency which equals the job is getting done faster. This idea also has advantages on non-farm families. It allows an older sibling or child to drive for multiple reasons. They could
run errands, bring younger kids to sports practice. This means mom and dad are happier because they can do what they want and send the kids to town or run an errand. 75% of people on debate.org say yes to allowing 14 year olds ro drive. The sooner people can start driving, the better they drive. Think of it this way, which kid has a better chance of passing Drivers Ed? The one who has never sat in a driver's seat or one that has drove around the farm? Probably the one who has experience right? The one who has experience will drive better. Inside the barn the cows are mooing because the managers are empty and they can't be fed because the farm has no corn. The oldest person on the farm is 14, by making the driving age 14 allows that person to drive and get corn. This is one of many instances that 14 year old drivers would be a big help. Another situation could be starving kids and by making the 14 year old law would allow the oldest sibling who is 14 to drive to town and get a pizza. There is lots of ways allowing 14 year old drivers would be a huge help. The biggest impact would be on farms. The reason for allowing farmers to drive earlier would be beneficial to all of the farming community. But it would also have huge advantages in other places too. This is why 14 year olds should be allowed to drive.

In the 21st century, our nation is facing a major issue, causing teenagers to lose their lives at the hand of the wheel due to inexperienced driving. “Teen drivers between the ages of 16 and 19 are four times more likely than older drivers to be involved in an automobile crash,” and statistics show. Automobile accidents are the number one cause of teen deaths. Driving regulations are in high need to be changed in order for teenagers to gain more experience with driving before taking the driving test, which could help save countless adolescence’s lives.

In Wyoming especially kids have to drive long distances to get to college on a regular basis. For example, if I were to go to the University of Wyoming I would have to drive at least five hours to get from my house to the college. Getting a driver’s license can be the most exciting part of a teens life. But what do teens have to do beforehand in order to obtain that license? For some, it's months of training and for others, they can complete everything within a few months. But does all that training make teens better drivers? The three main reasons why more drivers education for teens is not beneficial are: restrictions for teen drivers make it harder on parents, teens have to be able to get around without their parents, and not all teens need more drivers education.
Many teens are interested in being able to drive at a younger age, but it is still unclear if they are able to handle it. If the legal driving age is lowered, are we endangering the lives of teen drivers, as well as the passengers with them? I believe most people want to drive as soon as they can. However, recently the government has been trying to pass laws that may change the current driving age of 16. There are positive and negative aspects to changing the laws that allow the driving age to stay at 16.There have been new bills being proposed that mite be passed. “The Minister for Urban Services has introduced a Bill (proposed law) into the Assembly. He wants to amend the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 2000. The new Bill is called the Driving Age Amendment Bill. This bill will raise the driving age if it is passed but the aspects of what will happen should be considered before we change it. There are many different reasons why we should keep it at 16. First off it’s a good working system that we have followed for a long time. Another good reason that helps this concept is that the teenagers are still in school so it’s easier for them to take drivers training. If there are more drivers that ultimately mean that more people will be paying for insurance. There are also the reasons why we should change it from 16. Like for instances most 16 year olds aren’t responsible enough to drive. “The facts show that younger drivers (those between ages 16 and 25) receive more citations, are more likely to have their driving privilege suspended, and are responsible for more accidents than drivers in any other age group.” (Dr. Steven Evans). Another reason is that it’s a high cost own a car when they are making so little money.
Driving a car and obtaining a driver’s license does perhaps seem to provide people with a great sense of independence and freedom. Teenagers need to feel independent in order to learn to become successful on their own as well as realize how to handle life situations on their own, and having a license seems the perfect start and most effective way to do so. When teenagers feel this independence they tend to act more mature, knowing the responsibilities they must now carry on their own (More4Kids). Teenagers often look forward to the freedom that driving offers as well. Teenagers are able to take drives to escape from life’s many stressed, and leave any troubles at home behind without rebelling out against their loved ones.
