For generations teachers have been developing our future through harmony, wisdom, and intellectual adventure. A teachers' role in society is to help our youth grow and further their understandings in the principles of life. The expository essay The Role of the Teacher by Irving Layton provides a different perspective on education in the 21st century. Similar to Layton, I firmly believe that education is for the expansion of the young mind and nothing should restrict a student's ability to do so. Layton touches on a view where teachers need to be passionate about their jobs, however, teachers are not always responsible for every action the school makes, but the responsibility may lie in the hands of the school board. Layton also displays his concern for the decreasing rate of young readers and the use of humanities and how that will affect society. Personally I have been influenced by teachers in my own family. There have also been other teachers who have influenced me like I have also had other educators such as in my math course where the diversity in the techniques and skills used affected my overall experience.
Standards 1, 4 and 5 are the most important standard of the code of ethics that all teachers must follow. Standard 1 having a professional conduct should demonstrated by all educators. Standard 4 teacher/student relationship should be conducted inside and outside the classroom. Standard 5 all educators should abide by the code of ethics of refrain from all use of drugs, tobacco and alcohol during school and school related activities. A disciplinary action can take place if any of the code of ethics is violated from a warning, suspension, revocation, or denial of
What is the school's role? Teachers play a major role because they are the ones using the curriculum and they know if it is working or not. They should be able to explain to the parents why the new curriculum is beneficial to the children and explain how it is working in the classroom. The school’s role is to host events that can help parents understand what their child is learning in class.

This artifact provides some insight on the many roles that educators play. It provides an understanding of what goes into teaching and how it oftentimes goes beyond the four walls of a classroom. This includes advocating, supporting as well as educating.
One thing all Americans have in common is that we all had to attend some form of school. While some are home schooled or attend private school, the vast majority of people are the products of the American Public School System. A system that has been slow to change over the past decade despite the roller coaster speed of culture we live in today. So, two daring articles tilted “Major Challenges Facing Public Schools in the United States” by Mr. Admin and “10 Reasons the U.S. Education System Is Failing” by Mr. Lynch make the bold claim that there are problems that need to be addressed in the public education systems. Some of these problems include household dynamics, technology, and educators.
In conclusion, while selecting articles to use for this research, these particular articles proved to be very useful. They both met the criterion for the purpose of research information, as well as having current information on the topics.
Teachers should follow and refer to a code of ethics to help teach in the most appropriate and ethical way; as well as a guide to help deal with dilemmas.
The teacher in the classroom encompasses several roles. Resource, facilitator, and mentor are three of them. The teacher must be a resource that provides ideas and lessons to be learned. The teacher also must be a facilitator that encourages creative thinking, exploration, and mastery. The teachers is responsible for what needs to be learned. The subject matter that is taught is based on both curriculum as well as the world that students live i...
The role and responsibilities of a teacher is very complex. Teachers are responsible for making sure their learners acquire the knowledge they need, but also achieve their qualification by the end of the course in a safe learning environment, so they have the skills and experience they need to start their careers. To achieve that goal a teacher must be creative, professional, flexible and knowledgeable enough to deal with daily challenges and find different ways to help their learners needs. Establishing a safe and stimulating environment for learners, creating mutual respect and set goals that stretch and challenge learners of all backgrounds and abilities.
