Technology; the use of science in industry, engineering, etc., to invent useful things or to solve problems. It is amazing how technologies significantly affect human as well as other animal species' ability to control and adapt to their natural environments. It affected us so much we use technology for alternatives uses; Entertainment. However, can it improve the human conditions or worsen it? In the book, Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury describes the negative ways of how technology could ruin our lives in alternative ways. Technology could create a lifestyle with too much stimulation that no one would has time to think or concentrate. It can rule us and control our mind, but worse, it can replace humanity. Ray Bradbury overall message/opinion of Fahrenheit 451 is how technology is bad for alternatives ways for people. Ray Bradbury thinks the presence of technology creates lifestyle with too much stimulation that makes people do not want to think. Technology distract us from people living a life in nature. Clarisse describes to Montag of what her uncle said to her about his ol' days. " not front porches my uncle says. There used to be front porches. And people sat their sometimes at night, talking when they did want to talk and not talking when they didn't want to talk. Sometimes they just sat there and thought about things over." (Bradbury 63) Clarisse goes on to tell Montag that, "The archiets got rid of the front porches because they didn't look well. But my uncle says that was merely rationalization it; the real reason hidden underneath might be they didn't want people the wrong kind of social life. People talked too much. You see technology is an antagonist to nature because it gives us too much tittivation. It manipulates our mind and it changes who we are. Therefore, Ray Bradbury overall message/opinion of Fahrenheit 451 is how technology is bad for alternative ways for people.
