The curious incident of the dog in the night time, may have many good reviews however Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is a better book to read in grade 9 English because it has more in-depth character development, more powerful themes, and a cover design reflecting the plot. I recommend Frankenstein by Mary Shelley to be the grade 9 English class novel next year.
The curious incident of the dog in the night time gave us great insight into the mind of somebody with Asperger’s, the way that Christopher notices strange things in people as on page 13 “ The sergeant behind the desk had very hairy hands and he had bitten his nails so much that they had bled”. Though Christopher explained something in great detail, the information that he had presented us with was irrelevant. The same had occurred with the stories about him, we were presented with an overabundance of information, but very little of it contributed to our understanding of the character.
