Consequences from Pushing Send Sex and cell phones have become the way of the world. Our society has made sex look as if it is okay to do it when one wants and how one wants. For instance, a problem has developed among our youth in sending personal photos through text messaging. This has led to what we call “sexting.” When a child or teen sends this type of photo, do they actually know whose hands it will fall into? Therefore, sexting has many lasting effects that can lead into their adult lives or sometimes result in death by suicide. Children have the state of mind that they are invincible and rules do not apply to them. In addition, peer pressure can also encourage this type of manipulated behavior. Statics show 51% of teen girls say they were influenced from a guy “while 18 percent of teen boys blamed this pressure from girls” (Magid). However, influenced by others or flirting, it all has serious consequences and can lead to harsh punishments.
