Asthma is such a common disease. For instance, a negative response to an emotional stress can cause an asthma attack (Mark 1007). Have you actually seen someone have an asthma attack? It is the scariest thing because you cannot do anything about it. They say that there are no cures for asthma, and they also claim that there is some natural therapies that may help to manage symptoms of asthma. Weather your asthma is completely manageable and only shows up from time to time, or if you only have to deal with it on a daily basis, either way you have probably gone through your fair share of prescription medications. These medications, though, are not only expensive, but sometimes they come with their own set of problems, which only add to the ones you are already having with your condition. If you are suffering from asthma, you should consider a natural cure for asthma instead of going the traditional medicinal route.
The most obvious symptom of asthma is the wheezing sound that comes from the lungs, but some people do not manifest this symptom and the only way they are aware that they have asthma is by undergoing a test at the doctor’s office. Some natural relaxation remedies that you should consider as an asthmatic are abdominal breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, guided imagery, and biofeedback can help relieve stress (Mark 1019). There is more research that suggests that diet can plays a great role in alleviating asthma symptoms. A great example is omega-3 fatty acids which is found naturally in high-fat fish such as salmon, mackerel, or cod and it enables the body to make more products that help decrease inflammation (Mark 1010). Unfortunately, there is no direct evidence that this actually benefits those who have as...

...ou drink coffee every day, you will develop an insensitivity to its effects. Methylated xanthines are found in coffee, tea, and chocolate, and are diuretics as well as bronchodilators(Hackman 332).
Before making up your mind, it would be good if you conduct some research and judge for yourself. Despite these encouraging findings keep your doctor informed if you decided to try any one of them. Homeopathic and herbs for asthma treatments are also considered as being quite positive, and depending on the severity of the asthma itself in the person, herbal and homeopathic treatments can reduce or even eliminate the need for synthetic drugs, and even inhalers, and they can also safely be used to complement that of the more conventional treatments of asthma (Hackman 330). Take a great caution when taking herbal supplements. These herbs could interact with other drugs.
Herbal supplements and herbal treatments are nothing new to people looking for a way to enhance their diets or to those trying to find an alternative to traditional drugs. Such supplements include vitamins or minerals already present in the majority of foods. Other treatments are more unusual and stem from ancient Chinese healing or Native American therapies. Often these additional or alternative treatments have a positive effect on the patient. In China, during the early seventies, there were good results reported for treating bronchopneumonia in children. The doctors used herbal medicines, traditional methods of massage along the spinal column, and acupuncture and injections into needling points in conjunction with current antibiotics. This combination of traditional medicine with current medical practices had major improvements over the simple administration of antibiotics since the most recent method of antibiotics did not take into account the problems of a poor functioning cardiovascular system, spasms of the bronchi, and the fact that asthma often continues. The traditional method does have an effect on these symptoms (Risse, 108). However, despite the positive effects, there have been reported instances where men and women hav...
Asthma is a disorder that interferes with the lungs and the airways to the lungs. It causes attacks of wheezing and difficult breathing. An asthma attack occurs when the airways respond to some kind of trigger, Some examples of triggers for Asthma attacks are dust, mold, pets, exercise, cold weather, and some attacks start for no known reason. The triggers may irritate the airways to the lungs, allowing disease-fighting cells to build up and causing the lungs to swell up. In addition, the airways could get blocked when the muscles surrounding the lungs tighten. This keeps air from circulating freely in the lungs. Or, mucus may clog and narrow the airways in the lungs, making breathing even more difficult.
The practical application of healthcare system requires certain type of training and ability of an individual to work in that particular setting; moreover, these training modules, which are available for nurses, are primarily for the purpose of enhancing the quality of work, satisfaction and quality of treatment. The role of a Registered Nurse cannot be neglected in the provision of quality and safe care to patients and adopt procedures adequate for the condition of the patients because they work at the front line level. Registered Nurses have direct dealing with patients and integration of personal and professional skills is necessary. Therefore, there are certain attributes that are necessary to be present in a Registered Nurse for accurately performing various tasks. These include; Workload management, leadership qualities, control of practice, professional development, communication and organizational loyalty (Daly & Carnwell 2003, pp. 158-167). These attributes hold significance in terms of obtaining positive outcome for not only the Registered Nurse but also the organization and the patient. Workload should be managed in such a way that the care process is not affected. Registered Nurse should have leadership qualities to help, motivate and inspire other nurses. Similarly, a Registered nurse should also enable and promote learning opportunities for other nurses. A Registered Nurse has responsibilities towards the subordinates, patients and most importantly to the organization. The code of ethics and principles of practice must be followed and the practice of the nurse should be in the line of the organization’s working principles. The responsibility should be met as accountability f...
Asthma is a condition of the bronchial tubes characterized by episodes of constriction and increased mucous production. A person with asthma has bronchial tubes that are super sensitive to various stimuli, or triggers, that can produce asthma symptom. In other words, asthmatics have special sensitivity that causes their lung tissue to react far more than is should to various stimulating factors or triggers. For this reason, people with asthma are said to have "twitchy airways."Some symptoms that people with asthma commonly experience are chest tightenings, difficulty inhaling and exhaling, wheezing, production of large amounts of mucous in their windpipes and coughing.Coughing can be frequent or intermittent, and can be loose-reflecting extra mucous secretion in the airways or dry and deep-reflecting tight bronchospasms. Not all these symptoms occur in every case of asthma.Sometimes people may have coughing without and symptoms for months or even years before it's realized that they are asthmatic. Interestingly enough, asthma symptoms are most severe at night, while we're lying down our airways narrow as a result of gravity changes. Also our lungs do not clear secretions as well at night, which leads to mucous retention, and that can increase the obstruction to air flow.

I am going to tell youthe good things about alternative medicine. Alternative medicine is where you have to go out of state and get the treatment that you can’t get in the state you are in and then you have to get all the information that you need. When you do alternative medicine you are using the medicine to help the person that has the diseases that they have. With the increase in major diseases, alternative medicine is at a rise. People now have the option to travel to other countries for help. Alternative medicine are also increasingly used to diagnose or treat allergies, and numerous studies have reported benefits of this type of medicine. When you do this you can try and see what types of diseases or allergies that you have and if you do have anything then you can treat whatever you have. With the increase in diseases we have found we have suggested that people use alternative medicine because we can’t treat it ourselves. The people that we suggest to use alternative medicine they usually have major diseases that we can’t operate on and that we can’t treat. When people do that they have the best chance of getting better.
When people hear the word asthma, the first thing that comes to mind is a nerd wheezing and taking an inhaler almost every five minutes, but that is not the case for everyone who is diagnosed with this disease. A person with asthma will often wheeze, become breathless, experience tightness in the chest, and cough at night or early in the morning. Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition and a disease marked by spasms in the bronchi of the lungs, caused by chronic inflammation within the breathing passages. This may...
Currently bronchodilators (anticholinergics, selective β2-adrenergic agonists, methylxanthines, antihistaminics) and antiinflammatory agents (inhaled steroids, leukotriene antagonists, mast cell stabilizers etc) are used in the treatment of asthma[7]. Despite the availability of a wide range of drugs, asthma control is poor globally and especially in developing countries due to the underutilization of these agents in view of their cost and adverse drug reaction (ADR) profiles[8-10]. Moreover, the relief offered by these drugs is not only symptomatic but short-lived. Poorly controlled asthma is associated with significant morbidity, mortality and consequent socio-economic issues[11]. Hence, there is a dire need to search for new, effective and safer remedies to treat bronchial asthma.
Asthma is a respiratory disorder marked by breathing difficulty caused by temporary narrowing of the bronchi, the airways branching from the trachea to the lungs. Attacks usually are brought on by allergic reaction to ANTIGENS such as grass and tree pollens, mold spores, fungi, animal dander, and certain foods but may also be caused by chemical irritants in the atmosphere or by infections of the respiratory tract. Susceptibility to an asthma attack is based on hyperactivity of the bronchial muscles, which constrict on exposure to one or another of these agents. Episodes of asthma vary widely in severity and may last from a few minutes to several days.
Most of you may not think of asthma as a killer disease, yet more that 5,000 Americans die of asthma each year. According to the Mayo Clinic web page, asthma also accounts for more that 400,000 hospital discharges annually. As the number of people with asthma increases, the more likely you are to come in contact with a person who has the disease. As far as I can remember, I have had asthma my whole life. My mother and one of my sisters also have asthma, so I have a first hand experience with it. This morning, I will discuss some interesting facts about asthma, I will specifically focus on what it is, warning signs, symptoms, causes, and the treatments that are used.
According to the National Institute of Health, more than half of all Americans take dietary supplements on a daily basis or on occasion (NIH, 2013). Currently, there are over 1,000 companies producing over 29,000 different herbal supplements (Newmaster et al., 2013). These herbal supplements are marketed and taken for a variety of reasons. For example, Echinacea is taken for colds, flu, and other infections; ephedra is taken for colds, fever, flu, headaches, asthma, wheezing, nasal congestion, weight loss, and increased energy; garlic is taken for increased cholesterol, heart disease, high blood pressure, and prevention of certain types of cancer; kava is taken for insomnia, to fight fatigue, asthma, urinary tract infections, anxiety, menopausal symptoms and is used topically as a numbing agent; and St. John’s wort is taken for depression (USDA’s National Agriculture Library, 2013). The question remains if these supplements are safe (not to mention effective).
Even though there is no cure for asthma, there are two main types of medication used for the treatment of it. The first is long term medication that aids in decreasing the inflammation of a person’s airways and also serves as a preventative measure for symptoms and asthma attacks. These medicines are usually anti-inflammatory drugs that are taken daily to reduce future symptoms, but do not act as a quick fix...
... placebo” . In response to this claim by Egger, Rutten claims that no one knows what the exact mechanism is for homeopathy and that many studies have shown homeopathy to be effective to treat upper- respiratory issues (Rutten). This argument exemplifies issues that are caused by alternative medicines that compete with conventional medicines.
The Herbal Medicine is actually cheaper than pharmacy medicine prescribed by doctors. “Herbal medicines are popular. They are extensively used in the developing world, where in many places they offer a more widely available and more affordable alternative to pharmaceutical drugs ” (Aschwanden 1). Also modern medicine and Medicare can be not available for a lot of people. Some countries are poor and do not have the correct and best medication and emergency health care for people. “Due to the hilly terrain in Nepal, the poor socioeconomic status, the high cost of modern medicines and non-availability of doctors in rural areas, difficulties arise in accessing modern healthcare ” (Shankar 1). It might be hard to find and get herbal medicine and it depends on where you live. Different plants grow in different places and the distribution of herbs is sometimes not so great depending on which herb you need. Most western medicine is well known and can be more accessible but not better. Better things are hard to find. “Nevertheless, herbal medicines for asthma hold out a cheerful prospect, which will eventually help to reduce the morbidity and mortality and increase the control levels of asthma worldwide” (Fang 1). The medicine helps, safe to use and more natural and non toxic reducing the symptoms and stress. Maybe it might be a struggle to take the time and do some therapies but its worth it, and healing always needs
