The film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and the book The Hobbit have many similarities however; have their changes and differences. The book is more detailed than the film. The director of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is Peter Jackson and the author of The Hobbit is J.R.R. Tolkien.
Some episodes told in The Hobbit are also shown in the film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. In the movie and the book Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit that is half our height with no beards and brown hair. He doesn’t wear shoes because they have feet that grow natural leathery soles (Tolkien,2). Gandalf walks along the path of Bilbo Baggin’s hobbit hole and is looking for someone to share in an adventure he is arranging (Tolkien,4). Gandalf says “To think that I should have lived to be good-morninged by Belladonna Took’s son, as if I was selling buttons at the door.”(Tolkien, 5) Thorin sings “Far over the Misty Mountains cold.” (Tolkien,13) When Bilbo, Gandalf and the dwarves leave to start their adventure they ride ponies.
