By the time I’m 30, I’m going to be living as a happy, registered nurse. If I was a nurse midwife who works with babies, I’d enjoy working 12 hour long shifts. The privilege of earning the trust of my patients as they allow me to listen to personal stories and as I watch them heal from a hospitalized patient to a healthier human being would bring my life satisfaction. The moments between my patients and I would remind me of the great values of being a registered nurse. It’d remind me why I didn’t pursue a career as a doctor instead.
