What do you want to be when you grow up? That’s always the question that is asked the youth. What was your answer? Was it the same answer throughout your life? Because mine was not. It changed every year. From a vet to working with children until high school when I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, all I knew was that I didn’t want to be behind a desk. So my sophomore year I took every class that seemed the slightest interest to me. One of those classes was floriculture. I found that I was extremely good at floral arrangements. But I had one problem, I didn’t do it as the book said to. When the book said to build the arrangement from the outside in Id build it from the inside out, and let me tell you, the teacher did not like
It's hard for me to say where I'll be in the years to come, already my life has strayed from the path I once thought it would follow. However, that doesn't change my motivation or determination to reach and excel at my personal goals. My whole life I've endured a system that dictated what should be important to me, and while it's helped me learn the practical skills I need outside of an academic setting, I have a passion to grow further from what's expected of me, and so with much enthusiasm I look forward to attending college in which I hope to achieve more by constantly learning and expanding my personal knowledge.
When we were little, we thought the word “Career” was not a big deal, but as a senior in high school, the word has become our reality as we start to finish our last semester. The question we’ve been asked all these years is, what do you want to be when you grow up? But our answer is simple: we don’t want to grow up. As an innocent kid it seemed like the time would never come, but it has. It’s time to get serious and really ponder this question.
What do you want to do when you grow up? Most children are often asked that question and they
Now, we are going to talk about when we were children what job did we want when we grew up?
Growing up for me some would say it was rather difficult and in some ways I would agree. There have been a lot of rough times that I have been through. This has and will affect my life for the rest of my life. The leading up to adoption, adoption and after adoption are the reasons my life were difficult.
When people are younger everyone always ask what do you want to be when you are older? Of course when it is children everyone is filled with wonder about their answer whether it’s a model, astronaut, race car driver, etc. Now that I’m older it’s expected for me to know exactly what to do with my life and how to do it. I realized very soon that I sometimes can be an indecisive person when it comes to life-long decisions. This being a huge decision in one’s life you could only imagine how many times I’ve changed my idea on what to go to school for. Although, changing my mind become a norm, I eventually decided a degree in business/marketing is the right path for me. What are my career and educational goals, what will my job would be like, and
Along with creating steps which will lead me towards my ultimate career goal, the creation of a specific five-year plan for myself was key. In five years I will be in school, hopefully in my final year of my Masters degree; a plan which seems so simple to achieve, however requires an extensive amount of hard work and dedication. Being so far in my academic career already, I will hopefully have worked in summer internships or been employed during the year by a speech-language pathologist or various health institutions to gain experience in the profession and potentially become full time employed by one of these institutions post-graduation. Within the five years, I will have as well established networks and built relationships with multiple
When I was little my teachers would ask me “Cora, What do you want to be when you grow up”? In reality, I couldn’t make up my mind on what I wanted to be ‘when I grew up’. When I was around seven, I went from wanting to be a Veterinarian to being an Astronaut, then back to a Veterinarian again. Around age 10, I wanted to be a dentist, even though I hate mouths. Then I wanted to be a Veterinarian again. Junior Year of high school came and when we started to research colleges and careers I heard that Premed programs were so hard to get into, and I wasn’t fooling anyone with my grades. I did some research on Veterinarians and I discovered that the Veterinarians don’t really handle the animals like I thought they did. Then I learned about Veterinary Technicians, they do so much with the animals. I
Believe it or not, there are a lot of considerations to think of when planning on what kind of flowers and arrangements they want.
that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field but I was not sure
When we are children we receive the constant question of what we want to be when we grow up. The common answer to that question is fireman, teacher, doctor or officer, but that was not my case. My grandmother, a lottery seller and the best teacher that I have ever had, thought me a lot of things during her life, and every moment that I spend with her help me to defined the person that I wanted to become. I remember that when I was very young I owned an enormous map of the world and that it was fascinating for me to found where places were located, but also it was truly amazing to locate hurricanes and storms in that map. It was one of my favorite activities, every time that my grandmother and I saw a storm developing we immediately
Throughout my life I have constantly faced challenges and set reasonable goals. Many of the goals I’ve set are short term and require multiple steps to achieve. One of those personal goals is to finish out the senior school year by taking advantage of as many opportunities as possible. As new chances come along throughout the school year, whether they be educational or extracurricular, my ultimate goal is to participate in as many of those activities as I can. My educational short term goal consists of the college process. The plan is to graduate high school with all the required forms and applications needed for college. All of these preparations have been inspired by the hope of a bright future and the idea that college will be much
Broadly, there are three styles of arrangements in the world of floral arrangements. They are:
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” These were the popular questions that adult individual asked us when we are young. Living in the rural community for almost of my existence, was very difficult. When I was young, I helped my parents to earn a living. If older people would have asked me, what I want to be when I grow up? I do not have the definite answer because my concern was to earn money to help my family to have food for the day. My parents will always remind me and my siblings to study hard because education can help a person to go on with lives and have a decent living in the future. Sometimes no matter what plans in life we wanted if that plan is not meant for us, it won’t happen. Whatever college courses we are pursuing as long
When looking back on the times of becoming the young woman that I am today, there have been times that I questioned what I wanted to become. I remember when I was in elementary school, I would play school with my friends and I would teach them. But, when I went into middle school, I became interested in the medical field, and this continued until my high school years. Both my mother and my stepmother are teachers and they have encouraged me to look into the field, but I never became interested until my stepmother asked me if I could help her on a field trip to the circus when I was in the eleventh grade.
