Happiness is a difficult word to define. Everyone possesses different perspectives of happiness from their own experience. Some people would say money can buy you happiness because they buy you friends, while others disagree. From my own perspective, I personally believe money could not buy eternal joy into your life. Money could buy you the basic needs in life for example food. Having a lot of money could be used to purchase fancy and expensive goods, but the happiness would only be limited. Besides that, money cannot buy you the emotions like love. Money is desired by everyone, but it can’t buy you everything, for example: your health or a deceased loved one and the memories made with them. On Quinn Bradlee’s blog I saw this part where he admits When you are rich you can’t buy true friendship “Quinn Bradlee a rich film maker said that “The thing about being wealthy is that whenever I have parties, I never think that my friends are there just because they want to see me. I think that they are there because they want to come to a forty room mansion in Georgetown with a tennis court and in a pool. Being rich is as easy as it looks: money can buy you trouble and fake happiness.” Happiness comes from friendship, true friendship. When you have a genuine friendship, they’ll stay by your side no matter what, but if you choose to buy your friendship with money; they’ll leave you once you have lost your valuable possessions. Another example is that money does not bring love, love is an emotion same as happiness which your partner would bring happiness by caring you. “According the findings of Professors Hugo Mialon and Andrew Francis, over 3000 individuals was that those couples that opted for the higher-cost weddings were 1.6 times more likely to divorce then those who paid under $10,000 for their weddings.” Love is a feeling of deep affection; it is an incredibly powerful word.
