There are many important things to me. The most important thing to me in the world is my family, my cats, and my church. Without my family, my cats, and my church I probably couldn’t be where I am today. These things have taught me the value of loyalty, happiness, and community. I don’t know what I would do without my family, my cats, and my church. My family has taught me the value of loyalty. I realize without my mom supporting me in everything I do, I probably would not be where I am today. As a young girl, I often took my family for granted and didn’t love and appreciate as much as I should have. Now, as I reflect on the past eighteen years I am so thankful for my family. When I was just a few years old, my parents were constantly fighting. The fighting and arguments untimely ended in a nasty divorce. When my parents divorced my younger sister and I were forced to go from house to house, although, that shortly stopped after a few months. My cats have showed me the true meaning of happiness. All of my life, I have loved cats and am known as a “crazy cat lady.” However, a few years ago we adopted two stray cats. Rosie was found by one of my closest friends, when she was just a few weeks old. Dopie was found on a Coca-Cola truck. I never knew how much happiness, animals and especially cats can bring to your life. These two cats have become a part of a healing process from my childhood. My cats have also taught me the importance of hard work and commitment. When we adopted Rosie and Dopie my parents made my little sister and I sign contracts, promising that we would take care of them and change their litter box daily.
