What do you call a hero? In this day and age a hero is perceived to be someone with masculine features, someone that defies all odds, a individual that faces danger and overcomes. Maurice Richard was a person defined as a hero in the eyes of Canadians, not just your typical run of the mill hero a hero that gave his life to fight for something bigger than him, his people. Maurice Richard played Hockey for the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL, One of the best players of his time. Richard and his teammates were treated with disrespect and hate, he was mistreated and spat on even by his own coach but he had enough and he decided to speak up.
