In the business world, interpersonal skills refer to an employee’s ability to get along with others while also doing their job correctly. Employers seek to hire those with strong interpersonal skills because they want employees that can communicate well with coworkers, customers and clients. Those who have worked on developing their interpersonal skills are usually more successful, not only in their professional lives but in their personal lives as well. Take time to listen carefully to what others are saying through both their verbal and non-verbal communication. Be aware of your own words and body language when communicating with others, making sure that you won’t be misunderstood or misinterpreted.
