Many writers would like to categorize there reasons for being writers, and there are different reasons according to the kind of writing the writer does. The author can be viewed for the reasons of loving what they write about, then they could be viewed as one who likes to write novels, or bigger books, and then there is the ones who do it because it means a lot to their lifestyle. There are many reasons for becoming a writer, which are included in some of the authors’ thoughts. A writer is viewed as someone who is looking for subjects inquires, but not after what he loves best, but in what he thinks he loves at all (Dillard 1). Many writers wonder the reasons for which they write by wondering why, what, and how do they do it, but the writers like to write on part of the idea that they can share what they are doing at that very time and place, be it walking up and down in a little room or something similar (Kincaid 1). Although these two authors categorize there reasons for being writers in a similar fashion, they have some differences. There are some authors whom like to stay anonymous, when they do their work. They may appear to want their work to be anonymous, but by all fashion the work is later on published anyways (Sanders B4). Some authors can also view how writings has effected there lifestyles, because of their writing. There’s always a mystery behind the creative writing process, but it’s a boring mystery and some look at it differently (King 1). Some others believe that there writing in turn teaches others in multiple states and they can benefit from some of the
hard-won benefits (Cubberly A4). There is always different reasoning behind authors’ ideas of writing, but these are many of the categori...

...ject of inquiries, but this would not be seen until they think about it (Dillard 1). Most of the writers wonder the reasons for which they write by thinking why, what and how do they write it. Some think about what they are doing everyday be it walking up and down in a room or something of that matter (Kincaid 1). Even with the amount of categorizes that you can place authors into they all have similarities, and differences. Some also would like to appear anonymous when they do their work (Sanders B4). But some wonder about the mysteries that hide behind the creative writing process, as it is a boring mystery for many but not to the author (King 1). This is how the authors could be categorized into the reasons in which the writers write about what they do, and how there are always differences between the authors themselves that can prove why authors are different.
The point the author, Russell Baker, is making in his essay, “Writing for Myself,” is quite evident. When Mr. Fleagle, Baker’s English teacher, assigned an informal essay to be completed as homework, Baker immediately became baffled by the daunting task. Though reluctant to start, Baker knew that it he had to swallow his animosity toward writing and select a topic to write on.
...e does not discuss what she is writing, while she is writing it. She is afraid that if she speaks of it, it will wear out her idea. She says, “If you want to be a writer, I have two pieces of advice. One is to be a reader. I think that's one of the most important parts of learning to write. The other piece of advice is: Just do it! Don't think about it, don't agonize, sit down and write”.
Over the years, writing has been used as an art form, allowing people to write their thoughts. Though, the most torrential puzzle of writing is the reasoning behind the words on a page. The logic behind any piece of literature falls into categories of wants and needs. There are three essays to which these categories are explained in further detail with more depth. Firstly, “Not So Deadly Sin” which focuses on the act of lying and exaggeration.
As we know, there are three main reasons why an author writes: to entertain, to inform, and to persuade.
People write for many reasons. They write to educate, , and to entertain to express
A successful writer is he who is able to transmit ideas, emotions, and wisdom on to his readers. He is cable of stirring emotions and capturing the reader's attention with vivid descriptions and clever dialogues. The writer can even play with the meanings of words and fuse reality with fiction to achieve his goal of taking the reader on a wonderful journey. His tools are but words, yet the art of writing is found in the use of the language to create though-provoking pieces that defy the changing times. Between the lines, voices and images emerge. Not everyone can write effectively and invoke these voices. It is those few who can create certain psychological effects on the reader who can seize him (or her) with inspiring teachings, frightening thoughts, and playful games with the language. These people are true writers…
2. “Writing autobiography is my way of making meaning of the life I have led and am leading and may lead” (Murray 228). Murray used these words in his article, “All Writing is Autobiography” and they were very eye opening to me as I read about his ideas on autobiography writing. Murray suggests the all writing is an autobiography because it helps us express whats inside even if we don’t necessarily mean to and without directly talking about oneself. After Murrays column , “OverSixty” he says, “I wrote it in part for therapy, and it began as a note to myself several weeks after the experience to help me cut through thr jungle of thoughts and emotions”(228). Murray uses writing as therapy and says that all his pieces are autobiograpical because they sometimes have to smallest glimmer of his childhood or other events in his life but he hides it inside a story. Another way that Murray defends his argument is when he says, “We become what we write” (230). Writng gives one’s self to become who they want to be and express it. Even if you don’t

After asking the adults in my life, how writing affects their career a few said that it plays a big part. Depending on the job you have the amount of writing you do will vary. One of the people I interviewed is a cosmetologist and she said that she does very little writing on the job, everything is verbal. One of the other people I asked was an accountant. He said that he does a lot of writing for work and it plays a vital role in his position at work. He said he wouldn't be where he is today without the writing knowledge he has. Not everyone is going to need writing skills for their career, it all depends on the field they go into.
Writers have to be clear, when explaining what they do for a living to other people. Who think being a writer means waking up around noon, sitting at home and looking at a computer screen and typing away. Like being a writer is easy. As a novice writer, I would stay up past midnight thinking how I could explain countless scene without confusing the reader or myself, reading the short story. Explaining what a writer does is simple well for me. I write in the most comfortable place and try to plan the perfect plot line. Even if it takes hours and hours or until I scream out in frustrated.
I often describe myself as an animal lover, very outspoken, but shy at the same time. I have never described myself as a writer the reason being I’ve never been good at expressing myself on paper. At first, when I am about began to write I think to myself this is it, this will be the greatest essay I’ve ever typed, this will be the greatest statement ever written. My mind quickly changes when I start to realize that I have nothing to put down on paper.
Different people have different reasons as to why they write. Some people write for their own private reasons or to attain their own individual goals. An example of this ‘private writing’ is exploratory writing. This is writing ideas that you do not want others to see. Introductory writing where you free write on a topic, before composing what you want to say. Examples of writing to explore a topic include keeping a journal, which helps one to take down information that will help him recollect and investigate ideas for a future write up.
“When I sit down to write a book, I do not say to myself ‘I am going to produce a work of art.’ I write because there is some lie I want to expose and some fact I want to draw attention to…”
The novelist career is truly unique. It has always interested me. The freelance writer career seemed mysterious and exhilarating. Being able to drive someplace quiet and let out all of your hopes and fears into a book is what I want to do. A novelist is someone who writes novels basically. They combine fiction with some real life experiences and write books. Some could say that any ordinary person could do this. This statement is false! It takes someone with creativity and a passion to write. Someone who can take their life experiences and mix it with fiction to create an invigorating book. To be successful in the novelist career, education is required. Since I am going to community college first, I plan on obtaining an Associate of Arts degree. Transferring to Appalachian State University and obtaining a bachelor's degree in English would be my next step. During these four years I am going to take as many writing classes as possible. This is going
