Recommended: Social media effects on beauty standards

Girls have a lot to measure up to in society, like appearances and body weight, to feel like a beautiful woman. Unfortunately, magazines, television shows, and movies present what perfection is and how far we will go to try to live up to it.
Appearances
Appearance is a major contributor when it comes to applying for jobs, attracting men’s attention and fitting to the world’s perfect picture of an ideal beautiful woman. Beauty attracts a healthy, youthful appearance because it signifies reproductive capability. When it comes to the topic of appearances, most of us will readily agree that men with perfect facial features with a satisfying body or a woman with a curvy body along with perfect facial features will be the reason of attraction …show more content…

Stephen Marquardt research stated that human beings find the greatest beauty in symmetry. On the one hand, I agree that appearances are what captivate human attention. On the other hand, I still insist that it can cause attraction. I agree because what person would not get attracted to any male or female figure who has perfect facial features and a built body. It is difficult resisting staring at a person and not having a sense of attraction. What I disagree with is that a person is not always going to be attracted by how the person looks like, instead how the person is from the inside. That’s when insecurity in a woman starts forming. Without realizing, male’s can be attached to any female just by the way she looks. Whether she is thin, thick, or a bit big from the rest, to him she might just be the most beautiful woman to walk on earth. Unfortunately, when women are filled with feelings of insecurities, they do not allow themselves to see that. Instead, they are constantly worrying on how to make themselves better, what to do to keep captivating a male’s attention without realizing she is destroying herself by making herself someone who she is not. If every female in this world took time to stand in front of a mirror and tell herself positive things that make her unique from the rest of the girls in this world, the feeling of insecurity would not be so much of a silent
