Immigration has been a problem for so many years. This issue began in the 19th century and yet is still a major problem in the U.S. Illegal immigrants don't have many rights living in the U.S. They have a hard life because they don't have the same opportunities as a u.s citizen has. Many of these people get treated unfairly simply because of the fact that they are illegal. There is cases where they have been treated aggressively by the authority. Everyone needs equality no matter where they are from. Most of these immigrants are latinos that come from central america. People from the united states are allowed to go and have a nice vacation in these places but yet those there have to cross a border and put their life at risk just to have a better life. Why do these people have to risk their lives in look for something better. The united states promises equality and this is what attracts others and its sad that they can’t come in legally without having to risk their lives. The ones that are here are working hard and most of them do no harm. Deportation should not be used on illegal immigrants. Many americans claim that illegal immigrants come into the u.s and take their jobs. In 2012 8.5 million jobs were taken by immigrants. Facts actually show the types of jobs immigrants are taking. Most illegal immigrants work in hard, awful environment factories. They work extra hours just to have enough money to get by. People are mad at the fact that they have jobs here but truth is they wouldn't take those jobs anyways. They risk their lives to get here and have a better life but then they get that taken away and sent back to the same place where they started. This is also a way of separating families. I'm against this because those families are here in look for a better life. They come in search for that liberty that the U.S promises. They aren’t here to commit crimes, there is enough violence in their countries , thats what they are trying to get away from. They don't come here to be rebels they come here because they need the opportunities to jobs. They don't want their children to grow up in a place where their future is most likely full of violence. Instead of deporting every single immigrant out there in the streets, why not only deport those who have actually done harm to this country.

Illegal immigration has been a problem that has plagued the United States for many years. This problem is not new to the country because thousands of immigrants have crossed over the oceans and Mexican border since our country was founded. The underlying problem is the lack of assimilation to the American ways of life and the acceptance of existing rules and laws. With the already fragile economy and the largely growing unemployment rate Americans must make every effort to close its borders to undocumented workers to ease the strain and retain any available jobs for unemployed Americans and legal workers. Aviva Chomsky writes “immigration plays a much more complex role in the employment picture, and many different factors affecting employment and unemployment.”(4). Chomsky so on to say, “it indeed seems to be the case that immigrants and low-skilled citizens are competing for the same jobs”(11). Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants enter the country and start working either under illegal names or take agricultural jobs in which they are paid under the table. Chomsky solidifies this fact when she say “some immigrants work in the informal economy, and are paid under the table in-cash, so they don’t have federal and state income taxes, or social security taxes, deducted from their paychecks”(36).Which a lot of employers are catching on to because on doing this they don’t have to pay taxes and can turn more of a profit This also hurts the country’s economy because no one is paying their taxes and so there is no money flowing to pull the country out of the current recession. Some of who are being affected has no intellect that they are an illegal alien. The effects of the deportation system are unbelievable; children are left alone while there father and mother are torn from their homes. Either an immigrant goes back to the country they were born in or they deport to a new country. One of the main issues that is occurring right now in politics is immigration regarding deportation. Throughout the past centuries, immigration has had many positive and negative impacts on our country and society. Law and order have been the founding cornerstone of our democracy, and the mandate of the U.S. Constitution is for Congress to do the work of the people and that of the nation. Immigration has continuously been a passionate debate within our society. This particular topic will always be a sensitive subject due to Americans personal beliefs and morals. Some citizens believe that illegal immigrants should not be able to work in the United States for any reason, while others believe illegal immigrants are helpful to our economy.
Thanks for commenting. I agree with many of you points, however I do not believe that immigrants are taking the jobs of able Americans. Farm work, gardening, and other labor intensive jobs are not be filled by U.S. citizens (possibly having to do with low wages), so why would it be an issue if these immigrants decided to work in these fields? In addition to this, refugees can create their own businesses, so this doesn’t necessarily take jobs away from American workers. Unfortuanely there are many unemployed Americans, however in many cases, it is a matter of multiple applications and having the right skills. If people are not qualified for the job, then obviously it should be given to someone with the proper credentials. If immigrants have these skills then why wouldn’t a company want to hire them, versus someone who is lacking the specific background and or education?
Illegal immigrants hold over 14 million jobs in the U.S. These jobs should belong to some of the 17 million unemployed Americans. If U.S. citizens would take these jobs unemployment would be at around 2% which is considered full employment. Not only do illegal immigrants take jobs, but they also receive more benefits compared to the taxes they pay. Another negative effect is that many industries pay illegal immigrants a lower wage saving money on the higher wages a native would earn. Even though illegal immigrants bring some rewards the overall negative effects of lower wages, tax burdens, and less available jobs is why illegal immigration should be stopped.
Deportation has caused the separation of an abundance of families and it affects people greatly. For example, there should be laws that benefit people who have kids who are American citizens and are pursuing an education here. For example, I have a family member who obtained her bachelor 's degree at UCSD and was later forced to leave to the country because her husband was deported and she didn 't want her son to be raised without a father in his life. This is quite unfortunate because she had a lot of potential and may have been able to help others. In addition, her son, an American Citizen, is being raised in another country in order to be able to be with his family. Not only is he not able to be with his family, but he doesn’t have better education in Mexico than he would have here in the United States.
