Testosterone
Hypogonadism (Testosterone Deficiency)
In men, hypogonadism is a condition in which the testes produce a less than normal amount of testosterone, the male hormone. When too little testosterone is present, men tend to undergo a drop in sexual desire and performance. They may also experience depression, fatigue, loss of motivation and osteoporosis. The size and strength of their muscles may diminish and their body hair may become sparse. These symptoms are not specific to testosterone deficiency, however, some men with hypogonadism often don't recognize that they have a medical problem that is treatable.

Testosterone
LifeSpan offers both injectable testosterone (testosterone cypionate) and testosterone cream. While both forms of testosterone have proven benefits in hormone replacement therapy, each has distinct advantages.
The transdermal delivery system of the pure micronized testosterone cream provides a non-invasive method of application along with a more consistent level of testosterone absorption. The cream is applied twice daily, in the morning and before bedtime. We recommend that you use the testosterone cream for eight consecutive weeks, then take two weeks off. During the two weeks off interval, we recommend that you administer HCG therapy (see below). It is recommended that you follow this cycle throughout the duration of your prescription.
You will receive a 200 mg/60 gram tube of testosterone transdermal cream that will last approximately four weeks. Your prescription will be valid for six months; however, because testosterone is a "controlled substance", you may only receive a four weeks supply of testosterone at one time.
For many people, testosterone replacement therapy via injection provides the quickest and most dramatic results in optimizing hormone levels. We provide testosterone cypionate in 200 mg/4ml vials. The usual prescription is for 1cc per week, which means the vial would be a one month supply. Whether you choose testosterone in injectable or transdermal cream form, the use of HCG is highly recommended.
Physicians are witnessing an explosion of interest in testosterone replacement therapy for both men and women. This is due in part to medical recognition of the condition of andropause - which has been described as being the male counterpart of menopause and is precipitated by hypogonadism, or testosterone deficiency.
The primary reason, however, seems to be the growing awareness that testosterone, as with other hormones, declines with age and that such declining levels can result in serious physical and mental health problems for both sexes.

Several effects of steroid use have been identified. These include an increase in low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and a decrease in high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. These lipid changes if allowed to continue over long periods of time could result in coronary heart disease (6). Some other side effects of steroids in men include shrinking of the testicles; reduced sperm count, infertility, baldness, development of breasts, and increased risk of pro...
Androstenedione, known as "andro", is made of a naturally occurring hormone of the body, which is used naturally in tiny amounts to make the male hormone testosterone. It is found in humans, animals and the pollen of many plants. Andro is produced in the gonads and adrenal glands of all mammals. It is said to help speed up the recovery of injuries along with bodybuilding and weight training to increase muscle mass. The androgens are the male sex steroids. When andro is taken it can convert the female sex steroid, estrogen into testosterone. Testosterone increases body and facial hair, acne, deepens the voice, enhances prostate growth, and promotes muscular growth. Blood levels of testosterone start rising about 15 minutes and peak about an hour after oral consumption of androstenedione. When users take too much, androgen shuts off the bodyís own making of testosterone, which can damage normal testicular function (Quinn).
Steroids are usually taken on a cycle. Most anabolic steroid cycles range from 3-11 weeks on the ...

With advancements in medical science, it has now become possible to overcome any shortcomings, limitations or inconveniences concerning human health. Thanks to unconventional medical procedures, altering one’s innate characteristics, viz., gender, genetic makeup, physical appearances, etc., is not impossible anymore. One of the most significant advances of medical sciences is in the field of Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT). HRT is used to replace or replenish any hormone that the body is deficient in, or is not able to synthesize anymore. While the most common use of HRT is the replacement of the estrogen hormone in postmenopausal women, it has found use in many other clinical applications. Some of these include thyroid hormone replacement therapy in patients suffering from hypothyroidism and androgen replacement therapies in treating male hypogonadal disorders. HRT is a very vast and expansive subject. Through this paper, an attempt is made to discuss some hormonal replacement therapies, their uses and side effects.
Anabolic steroids can be injected or consumed in tablet form. Injectable steroids can be divided into two categories, oils and waters. Unlike waters, oils are longer lasting anabolic steroids. They are usually injected directly into a muscle, usually the buttocks, and are released slowly over time. Nandrolone, an injectable steroid, is designed to last for 17 days (http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/~hsr/hsr/winte...
...have been either a patch worn on the upper arm, or a gel based formula applied directly to the skin. Testosterone gel and patches are applied daily, and absorb harmlessly through the skin. Another popular testosterone replacement therapy is injections. These injections are typically administered every 1-2 weeks, depending on the patient. A Buccal Tablet is applied to the gum, where testosterone is absorbed over a 12-hour period. They are taken twice daily. And finally, testosterone pellets are placed under the skin near the hip by a doctor during a surgical procedure.
Lastly one of the common male effect is testicular atrophy. Testicular atrophy is a medical condition in which the testicles located in the sack, also known as the scrotum diminish in size. In a result of using steroids, testicular atrophy occurs when there has been a decreased level of luteinizing hormone, in which it is produced inside the male anatomy by the pituitary gland.
Some of the ill effects of the drugs are damage to the kidneys and liver. A person can also alter the balance of the natural hormones. This can cause detrimental affects to the body. The effects of you natural hormones being out of balance can last several years after being off the drugs. Some male user form breasts due to the use of steroids. Because of the increase in testosterone, steroids can cause serious acne problems. When used by teens is can cause stunted growth. Other side effects include genital changes, water retention, yellow eyes, coronary artery disease, ligament injuries, high blood pressure, changes in cholesterol levels, sterility and liver disease. The list goes on and on. Women that use steroids run the risk of male pattern baldness. Some effects of steroids are even worse. Some people fall into comas after injecting the drugs, some may even die from the injections (Kalawalski 13-15).

“Steroids are any type of a large group of fat-soluble organic compounds, as the sterols, bile acids, and sex hormones most of which have specific physiological action” (Dictionary.com). When our bodies are still developing, the effects of steroids can be dangerous and can also be permanent (“Above”). Steroids are made out of substances such as nandrolone, stanozolol, testosterone, fluoxymestrone, and oxandrolone. Sometimes people say when you can’t pronounce something, you probably shouldn’t use it. In the 1940’s testosterone began to be widely used in competitive sports, but the dangers of loading up on testosterone were not yet clear (“History”). Instead of using steroids for a bad reason, there is a medicinal purpose. Cortisteroids can treat arthritis, asthma, lupus and multiple sclerosis, eczema and rashes, and some types of cancer (“Steroids: Medline”). Also, steroids can be used to treat anemia, to improve weight loss due to severe illness, and to treat osteoporosis. Steroids can only be sold to you by a pharmacist f...
There is conflicting research regard the effect of short vs. long rest duration in testosterone response. One research reported that testosterone response is not affected by the duration of rest while another reported that shorter rest period of one minute resulted in a higher concentration of testosterone compared to a long three minute rest duration.2
One of the areas in which testosterone affects social situations, is through aggression. There has been a lot of research on this through the use of animals. For instance it has been found that in spotted hyenas; the androgen a female is exposed to before birth the more aggressive they would later be (Dloniak et al 2006). In more typical mammals, for instance mice or rats, decreasing the amount of testosterone through castration usually reduced the amount of aggressive behaviour shown through the amount of bite attacks initiated before and after castration (Wagner et al 1980). The link between testosterone and aggression seems to be extended throughout the animal kingdom. However research into testosterone and aggression in humans is a lot less clear. O’Connor et al (2004) found that increasing levels of testosterone in adult volunteers did not appear to increase aggression. This finding has been backed up by the finding that the amount of aggression stayed the same whilst males went through puberty (Archer, 2006). However a positive correlation has been found in humans between testosterone and aggressive behaviour. Dabbs & Hargrove (1997) studied 87 female inmates in a maximum security state prison. They used court records, pris...
