LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Adam Sandler, who's become one of Hollywood's top box-office draws by playing infantile men prone to fisticuffs and tantrums, displays in real life a shambling politeness and faux-naive modesty.
With a shy smile, he often looks down as he speaks, while deflecting questions with self-deprecating jokes.
The 36-year-old comic's almost childlike behavior conceals his status as a Hollywood workaholic who's unwaveringly loyal to his friends.
"I was in his office 12 hours a day, and he was either working with me, or working on editing something else, or working on one of his other projects," said David Dorfman, screenwriter of "Anger Management," which co-stars Sandler and Jack Nicholson. "He worked nonstop."
Sandler has used his clout not only to gain greater control over his own films, but also to boost the careers of former "Saturday Night Live" friends such as Rob Schneider, David Spade and Dana Carvey by guiding their pet projects through the studio system.
Dorfman described Sandler as "a benevolent mogul," and Carvey said his 2002 film, "The Master of Disguise," would have gone nowhere without Sandler's help.
"I mean, I owe him. I don't really know why he did it, you'd have to ask him. But it was great to have him push it through. I guess I was nice to him on 'Saturday Night Live,' " Carvey said, adding with a laugh: "Thank God."
Critical roasting
But some Sandler favors backfire. He gave directing duties of "The Master of Disguise" to his longtime production designer Perry Andelin Blake, although Blake had no previous experience. Critics complained that the film was a mess, and Sony was still reworking the movie shortly before its release last summer.
Carvey had already starred on the late-night comedy show for five years when Sandler began appearing in 1991, the same year as Spade, whose 2001 film, "Joe Dirt," and upcoming "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" were produced by Sandler.
Sandler co-stars with Jack Nicholson in "Anger Management."
During his five-year run on the show, Sandler was known for impish characters such as Canteen Boy and musical bits such as Operaman.
He received the People’s Choice Award of Favourite Comedic Movie Actor because of films like “50 First Dates”, “Grown Ups”, “Just Go with It”, “That’s My Boy” and “Grown Ups 2”.
In Robert Louis Stevenson’s, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dual nature of man is a recurring theme. Jekyll constantly struggles with good and evil, the expectations of Victorian society, and the differences between Lanyon and Jekyll.

In this essay on the story of Jekyll and Hyde written by Robert Louis Stevenson I will try to unravel the true meaning of the book and get inside the characters in the story created by Stevenson. A story of a man battling with his double personality.
Adam Sandler is a huge major icon in America. Although he is most known for his movies, he is much more than an actor. Adam released several comical acts, and even a few songs! Adam never really knew what he was going to do with his life, until Adam’s brother suggested comedy. This biography will show that Adam Sandler gives a lot to the movie and entertainment world.
Jekyll. Hyde commits acts of murder and assault yet can be seen as Dr. Jekyll’s id or deep desires. By trying to separate good and bad . Dr. Jekyll passed scientific and social borders to isolate his personality. In doing so, he lost control of who he wanted to be. As a last resort he created a poisonous potion that Hyde drank and died through act of suicide. Dr. Jekyll although not working with anyone took matters in his own hands which makes him seem like an outlaw hero. He did not turn himself into the police when he had control. However, Dr. Jekyll seems to have qualities of a official hero in his maturity in handling the situation. He knows how evil his alter ego is, so he isolates himself from others as a safety precaution. Jekyll tries to live a normal life, but is unable to. His status as a well distinguished doctor and sociability skills with his
It seems you either love him or hate him - but there's no avoiding him. Adam Sandler has risen to the top, and he has his loyal fans to thank for it. While most actors fight their way to the top while relying mainly on hype, for Sandler this was actually against him. No one thought he would succeed, but the fans made it happen, carrying him to the top of the box office.
If I were to ask you to think of a name that best defines the role of funniest and most ridiculous person in Hollywood, I would bet that several of you would come up with the name Will Ferrell. This shouldn't come as a surprise to any of you as Ferrell has filled hilarious roles in recent years such as Buddy the elf, Ricky Bobby the racecar driver, Ron Burgandy the anchorman, Chaz Michael Michaels the figure skater, and many others. Ferrell has become a modern comical titan as he blew away Saturday Night Live with some of the best ratings in history and has developed into one of Hollywood's funniest and highest paid comical actors. With the way that he can pull off dumb humor and make people fall out of their chairs laughing time and time again, it seems that Ferrell was destined to be a comic from the start, but it wasn't always that way. Although he is now regarded as one of the funniest and highest paid comical actors in Hollywood, Ferrell's comic acting career probably spawned from a childhood hunger that for a long time, even Ferrell himself was unaware of.
Well, Matt has defiantly persevered through the lawsuits, tech changes, writers block and more but no matter what happens he just keep doing what he loves. He still draws his comics in a newspaper, and this is inspirational to me that he sticks to his roots. If I have learned anything from researching Matt its never give up he certainly didn’t even when everyone points at the Simpsons and says “that’s a bad show because it makes adult jokes and it’s a cartoon ant those for kids”? But, he didn 't care he keeps making his controversial jokes and shows how he likes. Maybe I won 't so stubborn and I will keep up with the industry then again as people get older they seem to stick to do what they know best. so maybe by the time our industry is making another pivot, I will have already had my time. I will just try to avoid lawsuits altogether. I have no need to go and make a bunch of jokes and have everyone on my back. He can have that one but I do like to watch the show and laugh at the hilarious

To summarize, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a metaphorical looking glass into the duality of human nature. In the words of Romeo and Juliet’s Friar Lawrence, “Two such opposèd kings encamp them still/ In man as well as herbs—grace and rude will” (II iii 28-29). In everyone, there is good and evil, a Jekyll and Hyde. The decision is who will be allowed to take control. Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel helps the reader to better understand the duality of human nature through Jekyll’s fascinating tale, and the true meaning behind the story that makes the reader sit back and reflect makes the story a timeless piece of literature.
Nevertheless, the film The Ridiculous Six is another Adam Sandler style comedy that has viewers laughing all throughout. Along with the unbelievable amount of big name actors, the plot of the movie fits well with the amount of unexpected reveals and twists portrayed. Although there were some negative reviews and controversies, the movie is still loved by many that can see past the stereotypes and laugh throughout the movie like the writers and producers
Within the text of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson portrays a complex power struggle between Dr. Jekyll, a respected individual within Victorian London society, and Mr. Hyde a villainous man tempted with criminal urges, fighting to take total control of their shared body. While Dr. Jekyll is shown to be well-liked by his colleagues, Mr. Hyde is openly disliked by the grand majority of those who encounter him, terrified of his frightful nature and cruel actions. Throughout Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Stevenson portrays the wealthy side of London, including Mr. Utterson and Dr. Jekyll, as respected and well-liked, while showing the impoverish side as either non-existent or cruel.
