The Effect of Teaching About Discipleship on Everyday Lives of Christians
The Gospel today is our source of evidence and advice about
discipleship. Also, it is the only way we can learn to follow Jesus’
footsteps and teachings in our everyday lives. Jesus was the only
person on earth who didn’t commit one single sin and there is no other
way for us Christians to find out about his life except the Gospels.
He is the role model to us Christians because he lived by God’s will.
Being a disciple includes spreading the Good News. Jesus sent his
disciples all over the world to preach the Gospel. In the Mission
(6:6-13), Jesus told his disciples ‘Don’t take anything with you on
your journey except a stick - no bread, no beggar‘s bag, no money in
your pockets.’ He gave them authority over evil, power to heal and to
preach the Gospel. Most Christians today wouldn’t be able to that
because of the way society has changed. I mean, no money, how are they
suppose to survive. But because the disciples had faith in Jesus they
obeyed him throughout the whole entire journey. This could teach
Christians today that one day their faith will be put to the test.
In the Commission (16:114-18) Jesus scolded his disciples because they
lacked faith. He then told them‘ Go throughout the whole world and
preach the Gospel to the whole human race’. Christians should also
speak out and make a stand for the Gospel, and be prepared for the
climax, even if it doesn’t go their way.
An example of someone who has done this is Oscar Romero, he based his
life on the Commission. He spoke out about injustice, the modern day
evil, and was assassinated because of this.
The Greatest Commandment (12:28- 34). Love your God with all your
heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your
strength. Love you neighbour as you love yourself. By doing this
Christians putting their needs last and others first.
In today’s world Christians would do these commandment by doing
The Effects of Marks Gospel on the Lives of Christians on Sundays How do the teachings of Jesus from Marks Gospel affect the lives of Christians today on Sundays? Today Christians should try and behave like Jesus use to on the Sabbath. We know that Jesus went to the synagogue on the Sabbath, he would pray, worship, heal and then spend time with his friends and family. Today Catholics worship on Sunday by going to church for mass and then spending time doing what they want after.
...style, names, words but the way to church renewal in world-wide discipleship. What is really needed in this secular society and church is a “discovering again of Jesus,” explaining it as “a thicker Jesus.” Therefore, one last insight the book taught me was to think about discipleship interactively. It is not a passive but an active message. It is by going into the flied of spiritual battle that true discipleship follow the ways of Jesus. It is not a commitment one but of many who shares and advocate for the same rights and duties to exercise what was recommended by their Leader. What the book implies as the main theme is that discipleship must be active and incarnational meaning that all believers should feel anxious to support the cause of Jesus in a world that although dead in their sins is safe under the divine umbrella of the power of incarnational discipleship.
There are five core beliefs in the Bible that has a significant impact on the Christian faith and the lives of its adherents. These five beliefs are, the divinity and humanity of Jesus, the death and resurrection of Jesus, the nature of God and the trinity, the revelation and salvation. These beliefs are all clearly demonstrated in various forms and quantities across all Christian denominations.

In the gospel of John, Jesus prayed that His disciples would be one, just as He and the Father are One (John 17:20-21). Jesus had spent three years preparing His disciples for this moment, training them not only how to accomplish the mission, but also giving detailed teaching regarding their attitudes and behaviors. Throughout the centuries, God’s church has expanded throughout the world as a unified effort, fulfilling Jesus’ final command to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19-20). Luke presented Jesus’ ethical teaching throughout his Gospel account (Tannehill, 2012). In contrast, the book of Acts does not contain a great deal of ethical teaching; however, four topics appeared regarding witness, leadership, mission
The church must strive to have in place a biblical foundation to discipleship that relates to the millennial generation. All of the churches discipleship efforts should strive to build and foster authentic relationships. We are at a precarious point in the life of the church where the Christian community must come to a conclusion to rethink the efforts to making disciples. “Some (though not all) ministries have taken cues from the assembly line, doing everything possible to streamline the manufacture of shiny new Jesus-followers, fresh from the factory floor. But disciples cannot be mass-produced. Disciples are handmade, one relationship at a time.” In today’s culture the church needs new architects to design a way in which the local church community can foster and build authentic relationships that lead to discipleship.
Just what is theology? This question can have a wide variety of answers, from irrelevant facts about God thought up by men centuries ago, to complicated theories discussed by scholars. Typically, the average 21st century man does not consider theology as relevant. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Theology by definition has the characteristics of both expounding the truth, and impacting the believer with that truth (Himes, 2011). Therefore, theology and the church are intricately combined, in that the church embodies the revelation of God, and is reality, not theory (Himes, 2011). A personal practical theology must begin with revelation, not the individual (Himes, 2011), and proclaim the truth in a way that impacts, equips, and mobilizes the believer to make disciples in the genre of God’s choosing.
Parables to the Belief and Life of Christians What is a Parable? In my coursework, I will establish the definition of a Parable, Biblical quotes and references, and the reasons for their use. I will establish these facts: · The use of Parables in Luke’s Good News Gospel · Examples of Parables that Jesus used · My personal opinions on the subject of Parables I will use several different sources of information to complete the essay questions stated below. These sources include various Internet websites; books and my teacher.

Dempsey and Earley assert that teaching involves connecting people to God through the spiritual disciplines of prayer and Bible reading and connecting them to others through the service of their spiritual gifts. This type of proximity can only take place if believers rid themselves of the notion that discipleship is an event and replace it with the right belief that discipleship is a lifestyle commitment. Discipleship is intentional. Jesus chose twelve disciples. He actively initiated the discipleship relationship. This sets the groundwork for the active phrasing in The Great Commission.
Throughout history, the Gospel has had various outlets in which to reach people. In the beginning of time, the actions of the Word took place. Real life circumstances and followers lived what we read about in the Bible. Adam and Eve, Noah and the Ark, Job’s suffering, Ruth’s struggles, David and Goliath, and all of Jesus’s teachings, hardship, and death served as sources of belief and real-life examples of faith. The Gospel is something that became impossible to deny in actions on a grand scale. Today, people want to see to believe. As Christians, it is our job to touch as many lives as possible by telling people of God’s love and what he sent His son to do to forgive our sins in the process, leading as many people to Jesus as we can. By doing
Evangelism is one of the key component for changing people’s lives. McRaney states, “The word evangelism comes from a combination of Greek words for “good” and “messenger.” Evangelism involves bringing the goods. Kent Hunter reminded us that “when Christians witness, they tell how Jesus Christ has changed their own lives. The change in their own lives gives them the desires to share the Good News with others.” Christians must share their testimony to people and spread the gospel so that they can bring lost souls to Christ. God has commissioned every Christian to evangelize so that people will learn about Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal savior. Matthew 28:19 states, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. Christians are required to spread the Gospel throughout the world and can no longer just attend church. Christians must plant seeds and water the seeds so that lost souls will be saved.
