More than Atoms
That's why we write. That's why we sing. That's why we dance. That's why we paint. That's why we pray. Because we are just a group of atoms. Because we want something more. We need to create something more. There has to be something more.
Watch someone pray sometime. I mean really pray. See someone with glassy eyes and parted lips clasp their hands and silently ask of their beliefs "why?" If you are truly my progeny, it will drive any prejudice the world may have given you from your heart. What you will see in that prayer filled face is humanity in its most vulnerable state. We pray because we need something to turn to, something to believe in. We need an all mighty truth that has the power to soothe our fears. Why? Because we are afraid of being on our own, we are afraid of not being saved from all the pain and suffering in this world. We are afraid that all we do, we do in vain. We want arms into which we may retreat after death. We want an explanation for our lives. And so we pray to our God, and others pray to theirs, and some call it enlightenment or nirvana, or "it." But we do it for the same reason, to nurse the same weakness. When you see religious prejudice, or any type of prejudice for that matter, know that that bigotry has no real foundation. No one knows more than anyone else. There is no proof. There is no answer key. Everyone has different beliefs, but we all have the same frailties. See that when you see someone pray, and have compassion. Have compassion for the world, the world that has condemned itself to anger and hatred.
And try to rise above tolerance. Tolerance may be a virtue, but it is a condescending one. It says, "I do not accept you or like you or believe in anything you do, but I'll put up with you and be civil because I think that I am the bigger person.
As adidas is denominated in the Euro, we used historical and present values in the Euro to ensure more accurate figures, but converted the final intrinsic value into dollar terms. Following similar steps to the Nike DCF previously mentioned, we were able to use net revenues from the recent past in order to find historical growth rates using the year over year method. Again, rather than use the YOY method for the projected growth rates, we chose to use a three-year average to find the future rates using the most recent three years. We felt that this reflected a more accurate number, especially as adidas has experienced recent growth as compared to their negative growth rate seen in 2013. With firms gaining quick momentum, it is easy to be influenced by the new success. However, the historical data should be taken into consideration for more accurate projections. We found the free cash flows for the next five years and then found their present value using an 8% discount rate. The ultimate intrinsic value per share for adidas was USD98.09 (after using the present conversion rate of 1.17:1 EUR:USD), which is USD9.35 less than its current price of USD107.44. The margin for error in this calculation is similar to that of Nike. Also, the unprecedented mentioned previously that adidas has experienced could continue, which could increase the growth rate
Similar examples can be found in physics. Prior to the Michelson-Morley Experiment of 1887, which showed the constant speed of light, the experiments of FitzGerald and Lorentz, which explained the constant speed of light as the contraction of bodies and slowing of clocks, and the subsequent conclusion by Einstein that electromagnetic waves do not require a medium, scientists felt that light required a medium, and thus one was invented-ether (Hawking). These experiments demonstrate yet another aspect of a personal point of view in the pursuit of knowledge; the fact that despite the assumptions a personal point of view brings into a study, such as FitzGerald’s and Lorentz’s assumption that ether did, in fact, exist, knowledge can still be gained from such a study. Despite their assumption, they contributed, through their experiments, the knowledge that light does travel at a set speed. Thus, even when associated with false assumptions brought into an experiment, personal points of view are not always negative.
Nike’s biggest competitor is Adidas. However, when comparing both firms’ current ratio, which measures a companies capability to pay their debt with current resources over the next 12 months, Nike’s
The consumer rules the roost. They make the important decisions. I answer to them, as we all do. The opinions of Wall Street analysts and media pundits are really just derivatives of our relationship with our consumers. When the young at heart seek out our products, when they respond to our messages and believe in what we stand for, when our relationship with consumers is healthy, that's when we grow. Even so, gaining true understanding of our consumers, and thereby being able to deliver meaningful innovation to them, is a huge challenge. It's not the demographics that change; it's the deliverables. Ours is a constantly moving target. Technology continues to increase the pace and volume of options in all of our lives.

In order to make a proper investment decision for her mutual fund, Miss Ford made her own discounted-cash-flow forecast. This forecast proved that Nike shares were overvalued by $5.95 per share when maintaining a discount rate of 10%. A sensitivity analysis showed that stock was undervalued at discount rates less than 9.4%. To be certain...
Q2) Tolerance (in a religious sense) is the ability to accept others that either practice different beliefs to your own, or have a quality about them that differs from you, that you disagree with. In the Christian Bible, it is commonly mentioned as an after-effect of things like impatience or ignorance.
Media professionals have a responsibility to report accurate and comprehensive information, not just what amuses audiences and garner ratings. In his legendary speech “Wires and Lights in a Box,” Edward R. Murrow discussed the power of media and the responsibility of journalist to accurately depict information. To continued reporting poorly constructed media presentations or messages that only serve as rating boosters will be the down fall of society, and history will be there to witness it. Media conglomerates have to power to revolutionize the kinds of information the audience receives. If two or three media outlets would make it a point to relese information that serves the greater good instead of cooperate sponsors bottom-line, the world

The financial standing of the company Nike, Inc. has steadily increased from the year 2014 to the year 2015. This is evident through looking at the financial ratios. Each of the ratios use values that are taken from a company’s financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and the statement of cash flows. The ratios quantify different aspects of the business and are crucial when looking at the financial state of the company.
Understanding religious beliefs other than one’s own is a key element of tolerance, since faith traditions often define a significant part of a person’s identity. In the United States, the spectrum of religious diversity is a part of our culture as a whole, and religions can sometimes be at the center of political debate. By examining these different religions we can better begin to understand what motivates certain people and learn to hopefully live together in peace.
Because, if were completely honest with each other, we have all questioned before, “What is the meaning of all of this? Why am I here? There has got to be more to life than just this!”
I have chosen nanotechnology as my topic area of choice from the food innovation module.
Many people dream of becoming entrepreneurs someday. But it made me realize that there other factors that needs to be taken into consideration. We need to ask ourselves are we ready to take the challenge to the outside world. Not everyone have the vision, innovation and creativity to become an entrepreneur. The individual must have a positive attitude and accept the responsibility, have discipline to meet their goals, and take action when the opportunity presents itself. Many prefer a job security and rely on a weekly paycheck, while entrepreneurs will take risks and doesn 't have that luxury to know the amount of their income.
