You must be fast-paced to be able to help as many patients as possible. Talking is an important characteristic because you will have patients that are scared and being calm and able to talk well with others will calm patients down more than you know. You must be a very organized person, at least in your work place. If you have everything in order and organized, the patients will be less worried about being in the hospital. You have to be very service oriented so that you can think of as many ways as possible to help all the patients that you can. Monitoring patients is a huge characteristic that you need so that you can constantly check on patients and make sure that they are in good condition and not getting any worse, only better. A Flight Nurses job is mainly to provide flight emergency medical care to someone who is seriously injured or sick and needs to be transported to the nearest hospital that is able to provide what they need very quickly, quicker than an ambulance is able to get them there. An example of a situation when someone would need medflighted out of an area would be if a hunter was attacked far out in the mountains, miles from a hospital, by an animal that nearly killed him or her but they were able to call for help. First a medical team would be sent in to locate and stabilize the injured hunter then relocate him or her to an area where a helicopter could hover closely over or land that way a medflight team would be able to load the injured hunter onto the helicopter and rescue them.
Skills that a nurse may need to ensure that individuals are treated fairly and the care that they need is specific to them include; a good listener, this makes sure that the patient applies trust in you as a nurse and trusts you to help them in their time of need. You also can't be rude or shy, you have to have a good attitude towards people even if they have a bad attitude towards you because you don't know what they are going through or what is happening with their family, maybe someone in their family were diagnosed with a terrible disease or sickness, or maybe even someone passed away. You also have to have a good appearance. You have to wear your nursing uniform or whatever you're supposed to wear for your occupation. You have to have short unpainted nails and nails that are natural and not fake. The reason for that is because you could get stuff under your nails or germs and spread it to other people without knowing, another reason is because you have to wear gloves and the nails could poke right through the gloves and if you're dealing with body fluids then that person could get you sick if they have any illnesses.You also have to have natural hair color or hair that is not distracting to others. You can't have your hair all in your face or looking all crazy. You also can't wear too much makeup because it could also be very distracting. You have to show up to work on time always and you have to be dependable, have respect, a great attitude and you cannot have any wrinkles or holes in your occupational uniform. In the near future my goal is to further my studies; in the nursing field as a Registered nurse. Personally, my main objectives to become a Registered nurse are, to help save the lives of other, accomplishing my goal, and living life more independently. These are the qualities that would best describe personality: enthusiastic, loving, caring, compassionate, honest, and a cheerful individual. I grow up to have deep passionate love for people, especially those that are unable to help themselves on a daily basis. I always vision myself attending to someone’s rescue; that is in danger or in critical condition. I learned from my results that I am more of social person and the interest profile would recommend me doing something that helps people or being of service to people, which I feel that I am able to do in this profession. I also was ranked highly in enterprising which means that I like persuading and leading people which I think is a great asset as well for being able to run a major facility and work with many different people this seems like these would be essential traits for this position. Working in the emergency department can be easily described as fast placed and at times hectic. Being aware of resource management and learning to prioritize patients are skills that are required to be learned quickly. Once a basic understanding and knowledge of these skills are acquired, nurses are able to build off of them and adapt them however they see fit.
