While Theodore stayed with his grandparents, Eleanor decided to move to Tacome, Washington for a few years but no alone. It was very tough decision but she wanted young Theodore to tag along things just wouldn't be the same. In 1951, she married a man by the name of Jonnie Bundy and the couple enjoyed life as any couple would and had several children together(TB Bio). Growing up despite good grades in school Ted file was full of notes from his teacher. One of the notes was about his unpredictable temper (Newton 30). When Ted finished high school he was a compulsive masterbator and a night-prowling voyeur (Newton 30). Ted had also been arrested twice on suspicion of b...
This paper is talking about “The Serial Killer,” but focus on Gary Ridgway- “The Green River Serial Killer.” He earned his nickname because the first five victims that he killed were found in the Green River. He was one of the most famous serial killers in the United States. Ridgway raped, chocked, killer and discarded 48 women, including many teenagers as young as 15 years old (Silja J, 2003). In Ridgway’s mind, he even believed that he was helping the police out, as he admitted in one interview with investigators (Silja J, 2003).

Introduction- (Normal picture of him) You see this man? Normal, right? Good looking, cleancut.(Mugshot) Well this man is Theodore Bundy. Better known as the man who was suspected to have killed over 100 people dating back to before 1970. Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?
Serial killer, not really a phrase that pops into your head when you think about the “hippy” era of the 1970’s, when everything was laid back, all about happiness, and peace. Ted Bundy managed to disrupt these ideals and change ever so slightly the way people remembered a time once so focused on world peace.
Introduction: On the spectrum of criminal activity, serial killers are rather rare. Rarer still is a serial killer like Ted Bundy. Bundy confessed to killing 28 women in the 1970s in ghastly fashion and some believe he may have killed far more. It is hard to imagine what could cause any person to cross the mental boundary into such macabre behavior as Bundy perpetrated. Nevertheless, it is important to try to understand that behavior because only though such an understanding would society be able to identify and deter mass murderers in order to save lives.
People move all the time. Whether the relocation is due to personal or professional reasons, most often is it to start a new, and better, life. The community doesn’t usually know that new members are present and they go about their daily lives. In April of 1987, Rochester, NY gained two new members of the community and they were none the wiser until women, mainly prostitutes, began to disappear and then would turn up murdered starting in early 1988. Arthur Shawcross, relocated to Rochester after being paroled and having his criminal record sealed, was given the ability to start a new life, but he returned to his old habits of mutilation and murder by killing 11 women over two years.
Attention Getter: Jeffrey Dahmer, The Zodiac Killer, Donald Henry Gaskins, Tsutomu Miyazaki, Ted Bundy, Jack the Ripper, Amelia Dyer, Jane Toppan, these are the names of some of the most notorious serial killers the world has ever come to see, and there are many more where that came from.
In Green River, Running Red, author Ann Rule describes a killer without remorse, who is the product of both personal and social influences, in effect forcing him to murder women and to continue to do so for over a decade as a fulfillment of his fantasies. When endeavoring to rationalize the causes of such a mind, theories of deviance, when separated into two distinct categories, positivist and constructionism. Positivist theories, such as the general theory of crime, allows for individual's to piece together events in the life of Gary Ridgway, the Green River killer which would undeniably lead him to a twisted sense of reality, combined with sexual fantasies and a tendency to justify perverted acts of murder. Constructionist theories, specifically conflict theory, are able to shed light on the lives and decisions made by the victims, who were all led to such lifestyles through outward sources. In determining the causes and motivations behind both the offender and the victims, theories of deviance leave little to be speculated on when placing blame on either psychological or social factors.
Ted Bundy is a serial killer who murdered many girls and women. He got the death penalty when he was found guilty. In his last interview he talked about why he did these things to these women. Bundy blames his actions on the environment he put himself in and not his parents but I believe his parents genetics had some part in the way he behaved. His personality fits best with Eysenck’s personality theory because he believes both biology and the environment create someone’s personality.
There are many serial killers who are known for their heinous crimes and killings of their victims. Serial killers however vary from one another leaving it hard to cluster them all together besides the fact that they murder multiple victims. With that being said, there is one serial killer who sticks out as devious and whose crime may not be as “famous” as he wished. This serial killer is known as the Green River Killer.
Theodore Bundy was born on November 24th 1946. He was born to an unwed mother who was told that she was his sister. He was raised by his grandparents who portrayed themselves as his parents throughout his early childhood years. According to the article I read Ted’s grandfather was abusive towards Ted and his other siblings (Montaldo). Ted was shy and said to be sociably awkward, but during high school he developed into good looking guy and was liked by many.
