I. THESIS ABSTRACT
Training is key to the development of skills, but how best should these skills be trained? This paper shows that the problem of insufficient practice, particularly of skills that must be performed under stress, can be addressed using computer software and a distinct development method. Research indicates that significant rehearsal is needed for skill mastery, that stress degrades the ability to perform tasks, and that increased task practice can lead to improved task competency. This paper suggests that the solution to skill rehearsal requirements for high-stress jobs, taking into account research regarding the effects of stress, is the use of simulation software to provide a means for individuals to explore deliberate practice with the goal of skill mastery.
II. Introduction
Problem Addressed
Rehearsing any skill is key to moving from the beginner to expert state. Yet, so often companies send their employees out to perform a skill that they have very few hours of practice with. In many cases, people can make do with the training they do receive, but in high-stress situations where the proper decision must be made in the blink of an eye, expert-level mastery can be the difference between success and complete failure. The challenge is for companies to easily and affordably give their employees enough practice with new tasks, particularly those that are performed under high-stress situations.
A cost-effective yet instructionally sound solution to this dilemma is to provide virtual skill rehearsal through a carefully designed simulation video game. Most education centers focus on speaking, listening, writing, and logic making right brain learners struggle more excessively in the classroom. Right brain learners excel more in a classroom when the lesson involves images, colors, emotions, and/or the lesson is being taught through a story. Putting a child in curriculum that is friendly to the brain will and does make all the difference. However, most children can learn to accept and learn will in left brain curriculum with little to no struggle. Except, it is believed that children who learn slower or have a learning disability are more likely to be right brain learners. Knowing this, teachers can tweak teaching strategies to get all children learning to their best abilities (Right Brain vs. Left Brain). There are definitely compelling ideas relating to right-brain versus left-brain study however we have unveiled reason to be suspicious

In contrast to performance pressure, underutilization of skills has become a significant problem in recent years. It is well recognized that pressure results from the degree to which the environment inhibits or promotes utilization and development of skills and abilities. Under-utilization of a worker’s skill-base usually occurs when the worker is performing tasks that are often simple in nature and offer little challenge. The primary cause of underutilization is the fact that many people are over-qualified for the positions that are available. However, underutilization can also result from a worker being prevented from undertaking training to acquire new skills. This barrier results in an inability to progress to more complex tasks129. Virtual training is a relatively new and exciting concept being used increasingly by many employers in the modern workplace. It encompasses many different types of technological advances that are capable of meeting the needs of most any company. The various types of technology include CD-ROM, DVD, interactive video, simulations, internet and web-based training, and e-learning among others (Noe, 2008). However, like most things, it has advantages and disadvantages to its use. Individual companies must analyze existing training programs and capabilities as well as business strategies to determine whether or not virtual training should become a reality in the future of their training program. Some companies may find that maintaining a traditional training approach is more appropriate for their organizational environment.
Today workers have more discretionary power and are allowed to make independent decisions during the course of their work. This is essential part of meeting clients’ expectations and ensuring quality of the service. Understandably, the requirement of assuming greater responsibility through making key decisions is an additional source of pressure upon the workers. One thing all successful employees have to share is what we call adaptability to the changes. It is very important that today’s employees can make quick decisions on spot, address the needs of the clients, solve any possible tensions and ease frustrations, and then continue performing work-related responsibilities. However, Mallak (1998) notes that the majority of workers is unable to performs these functions on practice, as he believes many lack adequate training and/or preparation.

Throughout the course of history many people in time had no idea that many creatures of life had brains. With remarkable breakthroughs in technology and through human ability to take pictures of the human brain through head scans, scientists have discovered and mapped out the human brain. As neuroscientists understand how the brain works, discovery of brain-based learning has been a growing field ever since. Education is extremely important for human beings because the more educated we are as a society the better we contribute to society. Knowledge is extremely powerful and as a future educator, understanding how the brain works and developing lesson plans surrounding the inner workings of the brain will allow learning to manifest in the classroom.

Work place or occupational stress refers to any form of restrain that is experienced when there is no match between job demands and the output of the worker. The article ‘Occupational stress’ aims at showing ways in which stress people get from their work place affect them and what causes the stress. This condition may encompass many conditions that include maladaptive behavior, psychological disorders, cognitive impairment, as well as emotional strain. These conditions lead to poor performances at work, injuries, or biological reactions that in turn may compromise the health of the employee.

During this course I learned many stress management techniques. One of the first stress management techniques I learned was creating a list of things to do in order of importance. Before using this technique I left things to do all at once. This technique helped me by equaling out my work load. Another technique for stress I learned was yoga.
