The princess' sacrifices seem to be exaggerated examples of things a lot of girls do to get a guy to like them. Although they might not feign an injury and not walk for months, I have tall friends who avoid wearing heels so they don't tower over guys. I also know many tall women who refuse to date anyone shorter than them because, “it just wouldn't be right.” Height is usually associated with power, dominance, and prestige. So it follows that if a woman is taller than a man, she can be seen as being greater than him. When the princess towered over the prince, he ran away because he didn't want to be with someone who could be seen as more powerful and greater than himself. Standing next to the princess would make him look short, less powerful, less dominating, and less prestigious. When tall women don't want to date shorter men because, “it just wouldn't be right,” they're implying that it “wouldn't be right” for them to be seen as greater than a man.
