The Stock Market
Past few years have been outstanding in many ways for the emerging Pakistan's stock markets. Karachi stock exchange (KSE) index witnessed the all time high by crossing the 2661 market, yet deeply plunging back recently, representing erosion of some 40 percent capital worth of the market. There were major inflows of foreign institutional capital. Public listing of a score of new brokerage house with foreign links-up, the privatization of the telecom, laying the foundation for a corporate bond market and huge investment pledges in the private power sector, is some important features in the list.
Following the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) of 2009 BlueScope was in its worst ever market position. As of 2011 the price of shares had hit record lows of 38c compared to $12.03 of just three years earlier, showing a 93% reduction in share prices. Huge financial losses were also recorded. In the 2010/2011 financia...

There are many different ways to save money and there are different things to save for. A savings plan for an immediate want is apparently different than a savings strategy for retirement. One may choose to select stocks, bonds, or mutual funds for a savings strategy, however, my personal choice is to invest in bonds first, then mutual funds.
Stock Market Difficulties The article written by Ben Rooney entitled “No news is good news for stocks?” is about the inner organization of the stock market. In the beginning, the author tells the reader, that there wouldn’t be any news in the sphere of economy, so the investors can keep calm. The Dow Jones industrial average and the S&P 500 both ended flat for the week, and the Nasdaq is higher for a fourth straight week. The Fed was the centre of attention for a long period of time, when people found out about the possibility of decreasing its $85 billion per month. Thus, a lot of people do not consider the good economic news to be a sign of a good chance to invest money, because of the risk of tapering.
The career I wish to pursue is that of a stockbroker. I am extremely interested in the trading of stocks and financial holdings so the career of a stockbroker just seems to fit in with my overall plan. Numbers have also always been a fascination of mine and the trends of the economy and long term financial outlooks have often interested me greatly. Stock broking is a risky business that one needs to be prepared for highs and lows if choosing to pursue. You must understand what a stockbroker truly does to even begin to follow this as a life long career.
Mergers and acquisitions immediately impact organizations with changes in ownership, in ideology, and eventually, in practice. There are multiple reasons, motives, economic forces and institutional factors that can, taken together or in isolation, influence corporate decisions to engage in mergers or acquisitions. The financial risks of merging with or acquiring an organization in another country and how those risks can be mitigated are important issues for corporations to conduct research on. This paper will examine the sensible and dubious reasons for mergers and acquisitions and the benefits and costs of the cash and stock transactions.

The stock market is an essential part of a free-market economy, such as America’s. This is because it provides companies the capital they need in exchange for giving away small parts of ownership in their company to investors. The stock market works by letting different companies sell stocks to gain capital, meaning they sell shares of their company through an exchange system in order to make more money. Stocks represent a small amount of ownership in a company. The more stocks a person owns, the more ownership they have of that company. Stocks also represent shares in a company, which are equal parts in which the company’s capital is divided, entitling a shareholder to a portion of the company’s profits. Lastly, all of the buying and selling of stocks happens at an exchange. An exchange is a system or market in which stocks can be bought and sold within or between countries. All of these aspects together create the stock market.
Have you ever invested in the stock market? If so, do you know where your money is really going? The stock market is a risky business and it can make or break people’s lives. The stock market is used to daily to keep America on its trembling feet; it’s also being used at this very moment to cheat people out of money for personal gain. This happens every day in the stock market and its evolving rapidly, super computers that can trade faster than a blink of an eye, social media trends that can predict share values, and intricate stock market schemes that are getting harder and harder to find and take down. While the stock market keeps the world turning and the economy steady, the stock market is also being used in manipulative ways that are not always legal.
Introduction Real estate is a fixed, tangible and immovable asset in the form of houses or commercial property (Seldin & Richard 1985). Real estate market involves developing, renting, selling/purchasing and renovating of these assets (houses). Market participants include developers (contractors, engineers, and so on), facilitators (mortgage companies, real estate brokers, banks, management agents and so on), owners, renters (leasers) and renovators (Seldin & Richard 1985). Like other economic markets, real estate markets have internal and external forces that impact the market (Seldin & Richard 1985). Demand and supply forces have the major impact on the industry as they determine growth or decline in the market (Seldin & Richard 1985).

The intensely competitive, action-oriented, profit-hungry world of investment banking can seem like a bigger-than-life place where deals are done and fortunes are made. Investment bank includes but is not limited to bringing an established company to the market, by that I mean taking company with the capabilities but not capital of expanding, and raising money through other investors or the stock market (IPO) for a commission, I chose this field because of my personal experience with my father and his company, I’ve seen him go from starting off as a cold calling broker, to running a brokerage firm, to starting a brokerage firm, all the way to having his own investment firm. I feel like I would do better with jobs where you set your own hours and work at your own pace. A lot of the work is commission based so the more your work the more you make, this would also benefit me because it would drive me to work more, money is my motivation. To be hired you will need good people and communication skills, highly analytical skills, high ability to synthesize and high creative ability. You will also need experience in modeling, valuing companies, and financial accounting.
Never have I ever climbed a mountain peak. As a child, I imagined myself conducting expeditions in deep-frozen pathways, leading amateur explorers to the top of the world, and instructing rookies in surviving harsh blizzards. Even though slightly altered, my childhood dream has been achieved. I led a team of fellow classmates, in my Strategic Management course, to the success summit of a financial competition. Over the course of a semester, I and my teammates were supposed to create and manage a company of the IT industry, in a computer-simulated environment, along with other four rival teams. I dealt with strategy and financial matters of our virtual enterprise, while my colleagues were working on marketing and manufacturing. During the four months of the exercise, I have experienced finance from various aspects: capital budgeting, through selecting favorable investment for upcoming quarters; debt management, by assessing the necessary amount and efficiency of loans; profitability analysis and dividend policy, which had been used to compile the company’s general performance index. Working in a multinational team, which included an American, a Norwegian and a Moldovan, strengthen my negotiations skills, as well as flexibility and cooperation. But above all, this experience intensified my passion for finance. Of course, a pleasant bonus was the fact that, in the end, our company’s financial performance was six times the performance of second-best team.
